Wouuu that sounds really great: "There are many libraries in Faerūn, some of them vast and impressive - But there is only one Candlekeep!"

It’s a long time since I have heard from Alaundo, he has the final say about the T-shirt design

Mod edit: Had to add an "r" to shirt again...

Bear in mind I'm only offering suggestions here - this is still Victor's baby.

Special thanks to Wooly who sent me the piccy. I made the back text smaller to fit everything, and placed the logo above the graphic this time on the front. I also used a combination of Victor's text and Delzoonblood's shorter version, by splitting it in half. Its a little hard to read at that size, but on a full-size shirt it should be easily ledgible.-

That looks great Markustay! And the addition of the Candlekeep image itself from the 2E "Forgotten Realms" boxed set only adds to the shirt's overall appeal.

Where can I place my order?

Well I quite like the use of the Compendium logo here. The site logo is too low-res to use for this purpose, so I was simply going to do a more crisp hi-res version.

Okay now we know that the Compendium logo of Candlekeep is going to be on the front what about the text?

Do you like the Golden text (Canlekeep ) at the top.? Front
What about the text at the bottom? Front

- I would suggest that we use Old English as said before.

What about the back?

Why not letting the logo simply speek for itself? Too much text could be confusing sometimes...

Thanks Victor - I found the Olde English Font, hence my being able to manipulate the 'back' text. I agree that the Candlekeep logo should be in a nicer font- the 'Irongate' one looks cool but doesn't fit the theme. I also used a 'Rapscallion Font' for "Ed Greenwood" - basically just tossing ideas out there right now.

And yeah, I lifted that logo on the front from the Compendiums, so the resolution is pretty bad. Like I said, it was basically just to give us some layout concepts - nothing has a polished look to it at this point.

I figure Victor could take all the suggestions and feedback and use what he and Alaundo agree on.

I do like the idea of the Ed Greenwood quote on the back, but we could make it much smaller in RL. I figure since he personally wrote that for this site, it has some special meaning for the 'keep.

It’s hard to get any opinion out of the old man (Alaundo)

Just another idear

Simple and elegant

Front – Gold - Candlekeep

Back – Gold – Candlekeep.com
Back – Silve : Know, O seeker of knowledge, that there are many libraries in Faerūn, some of them vast and impressive—but there is only one Candlekeep. All who value and treasure knowledge are welcome within its gates, not just those of particular wealth, status, races, or faiths.

Looks good, but you need to manipulate the pic a bit more ( I could send you mine).

Maybe the big "Candlekeep" on the back in silver as well? Just to differentiate it from the front logo, and also to lower costs (single color for back).

You didn't like the "--Ed Greenwood" part after the quote?

T-shirt design suggestion

Colour: Either black on gold or gold on black

Front: The Candlekeep logo from the compendium.

Back: "Candlekeep. Chronicling the Realms since before Elminster was born."

I'm not sure about the suggestion for the back.

Perhaps something more like -- "Candlekeep: The greatest center of learning in all the Realms."

Sage I am happy to see you joining the discussions about the T-shirt fore Candlekeep.

We need to show people where they can find us. So I would suggest that we use Candlekeep.com and then something about the site under the text.

Idears until now fore the back text.

Sage : Candlekeep: The greatest center of learning in all the Realms

Kiaransalyn : Candlekeep. Chronicling the Realms since before Elminster was born."

Victor and Markustay : Know, O seeker of knowledge, that there are many libraries in Faerūn, some of them vast and impressive—but there is only one Candlekeep. All who value and treasure knowledge are welcome within its gates, not just those of particular wealth, status, races, or faiths.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Can we agree on this until now?

I really like the idear about a gold text on a black t-shirt

Front : Gold : Candlekeep + Candlekeep logo
Back : Gold : Candlekeep.com and something under this text.

it could have a double meaning ie Candlekeep and this site!

I'd still like to see the site's tagline (The Library of Forgotten Realms lore) somewhere. Not sure if there are any copyright implications on this, however. "Forgotten Realms" would have to be listed with "TM" at least.

Now I say that Alaundo's on the front and Sleyvas's on the back.
