Hello-
I guess it may not be clear in my post, but I saw that at work - and work for me is a bookstore. :)
Brian - see your PM for more information.

I'm fairly sure that the timeline in The Grand History contains a major spoiler for Shadowstorm. Of course, I don't know for certain that the spoiler entries made the cut into the final product. Perhaps Brian can confirm? Brian, the entries in question would be in relation to events in Sembia in 1374.
In any event, just wanted to put out a a note of warning for those who might not want to be spoiled, should The Grand History hit shelves at or near the same time as Shadowstorm.

If Brian can confirm it, we do need that message out there... We don't want a repeat of the infamous page 28 spoiler to occur. |

I totally agree. And I appreciate the heads-up. |

I did ensure that events from Shadowbred made it into the Grand History, but not Shadowstorm. It's possible, however, that Eric Boyd or one of the full time wizards designers included Shadowstorm, but if they did I'm unaware of it. When I see Eric tomorrow I'll ask him, and post an update. |

Oh, and no the Grand History was not released at Gen Con. We'll all have to wait a few more weeks yet. |

Well met
Dang! I was hoping to hear reports of this tome by the dozen! No matter, it will come to us eventually. The suspense must be terrible, Brian |

Thanks, Brian. I did provide Eric with a few entries for the timeline in The Grand Historythat spoil events from Shadowstorm, but whether or not they made it in is a different question.
In any event, since it appears The Grand History will not hit shelves before Shadowstorm, I suppose we can lower the spoiler threat level to yellow. Still be nice to know, though, since not everyone will read the novel the day it hits shelves (much to my dismay ). |

It was the Power of Faerūn spoiler that revealed the ending of the Last Mythal books. It was quite a commotion, at the time... It was also the first thing I read when the book came out! |

Let's just say I felt that commotion was just a tad um... too intense considering what the spoiler actually revealed. |

As did I. Save for one minor detail, it was entirely what I expected.
But... That's not really a topic for this thread. |

Totally anecdotal evidence here, but there has even been some buzz about this product over on the DragonLance boards, especially since its a pure reference book as opposed to a 3.5 stat heavy rulebook. It would be great to get some crossover sales for this product from people that haven't done much Realmlore "research" since 2nd edition. I'm really excited about this whole prospect. |

It looks great Brian. Not sure about the Red Wizard in the illustration though. The goatee screams evil, sure, but Red Wizards are hairless evil.

Hey Alaundo when I'm at work I can't see their pages either. So try looking at shadow. instead of www. and see if that works.
It does for me. |
Turox Antas Dragonslayer - "People will believe anything they want to believe, or fear to believe." Wizard's First Rule: Chapter 36, Page #397, US Hard Cover (revealed by Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander). Explanation by Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander: "People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. Peoples heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool."

No problems seeing the pages here. The only sad thing: such a great preview for a product which will arrive in Europe probably weeks or months after it's release in the US. |

I like the reference back and reference forward idea that was indicated in the preview. Nice way to do any needed/ wanted research. |

I halfway thought it might be released today, WotC usually releases books the first Wednesday of the month (or Thursday this month because of the holiday on Monday). But my friendly local game shop said "no dice."
They show that it won't be out until the 18th, same as Amazon shows.
The suspense is agonizing! |

I could have sworn I've seen that illustration before, in another supplement...
Anyway, I liked the bit about the Silent Chosen. |
