Not I, no. My computer cannot handle NWN2 very well, so I didn't get far in the official campaign. I did, however, get a couple references from NWN1 and its expansions into the Grand History.

Fear not Brian, I have a feeling that, this being a fans' wet dream of a book, plenty of the downloaders will be buying the book. Myself included. |

Negative. There are very few Realms materials I don't own, but that's one of them. Unless of course, Eric or one of the others included it.

I believe the general rule is that events from computer games are too variable to be considered canon until they are summarized and placed into either a sourcebook or novel.

In fact, the biggest problem with games IMHO is that they are far less acurate regarding existing lore. |

As long as I can remember nearly any product with Kim Mohan as the editor was well put together. As funny as it sounds when picking up D&D books I look for his name as the editor. I bet the experience was fantastic.
Rest assured that this will be purchased by myself and if the product is just half as cool as it sounds I'll be buying a few for x-mas gifts as well. |

As I said to you in another scroll, Eric's Dragon article for the Dalelands has the Spider Queen timeline.
After checking on that ... the Dragon only mentions the beginning of the battle for Maerimydra and the end date of the WotSQ. No info on how things ended in the Maerimydra. Lady Penitent I was vague here too, though Pt. II of the "Fall of the Drow Deities" may enlighten us. |

Hello-
As an aside - I noticed at work that the date has changed again - and is listed for November - as opposed to September - anyone have any info if it was pushed back?
I was sorta-hoping that we might see first-shipment copies at GenCon this summer if it was Sept - but if it is Nov - taht wont happen...

I am collecting the D&D Minis. I would be more than willing to trade with people. You can send me a PM here with your email listed - and I can send you my minis list. Thanks!
Successfully traded with Xysma! |

Given that part 3 of the mega module trilogy will be released in November I doubt they'll release GHtR in the same month (I dont recall wizards ever releasing 2 FR source books in the same month) |

Ah, thanks Wooly. That's what I'd heard. I'm going to see whether the powers that be can have my author copies for me at GEN-CON. At the very least it will save them some postage.

Ed really likes Kim Mohan, who "hired" (quotes because it wasn't a salaried position) Ed and Roger Moore as the first Contributing Editors at DRAGON, years and years ago. And so, in a way, set us all on the path to seeing the published Realms. (I believe what did it for Kim was seeing the manuscript for Ed's Gates article, that ran in issue 37 of The Dragon: "Footnotes!" he said. "I never thought I'd see an article sent to us with FOOTNOTES!") Ed really enjoyed Kim's take on attending GenCon that appeared earlier in Dragon (which I believe got Kim a job at TSR). According to Ed, Kim is a superb journalist who makes everyone "hit their marks" and not leave anything out. Space reasons may mean things have to get left out in the published version, but Kim needs to know that everything's been thought out and covered, so that there are no logic holes and nothing important left undescribed. Basic journalism, yes, but something that all too often was lacking in game writing at the time. Ed's words: "If you needed something organized and planned, Kim would be a good man to trust to do it right." So, a salute to Kim. love to all, THO |

I'll second that. Kim's work on GHotR has been awesome. I would say it's rare for an editor of a FR product to be asking for more lore on various topics in the development process.

Just give it to yourself as a present...period. I do that all the time, whether it's my birthday or not. |

I think I could live with that. The next question, therefore, is does anyone know if Oxford has a good FLGS, as that's where I'll be based by then? |

The look is different to the standard FR line. Interesting. Hopefully having Drizzt on the cover will sell more copies.

When I lived in Oxford, I went to the Gameskeeper on Cowley Road. I don't know what it's like now, or for sure if it's still there, but you could phone them ((01865 721348) and it's probably been discussed somewhere like rpg.net. |

Thanks, Faraer. It has a website of sorts, which suggests it's still going. As for the cover, interesting that they've not gone with the usual style. I'm not quite sure what it means by not being a RPG product either, but I'm happy to go along with George - if putting Drizzt on the cover means more people pick it up to have a look at it and buy a copy then I'm not going to complain. |
