Yup, definately an enjoyable update. And those who complained about a previous instalment plugging Wizards' miniatures must have loved this:

Shouldn't it be an 1-inch cube btw? *suffers from know-it-allitis from time to time. |

A one inch cube is actually accurate. Even though the number one starts with a vowel it begins with a consanant sound, therefor keeps the "a". |

Ah yes... Bugger. See, the worst thing about that disease is it never strikes me down when I'm correct
And to make matters worse I've, for reasons I can't fathom, developed a tendency to base my a's and an's on the second word following it... I think my brain may need a good flushing soon. |

Considering your the first scribe to comment on the new room despite it being posted here a day ago, I think you are not alone in finding little interest. |

SB, the cynicism just rolls out of you. You actually DO remind me of the Harry Potter character when you post like that. I always enjoy your balanced and even judgements - don't stop.

Thank you for the kind comments. I need to bookmark this post to reference the next time I irritate someone.
And hey, I'm not cynical! I believe I'm merely realistic. But, I do sometimes have expecations for certain things. That fact is why the Undermountain series so far is disappointing to this Realms fan.
By the way, congrats Master of Realmslore although you had the title with me long before you reached a 1,000 posts.

I read it at work today, and it was too bland to even think of commenting on it. |

I read it a few minutes after SB first posted the link.
Needless to say, it failed to capture my attention. And so, I was forced to go back to chatting with a co-worker whose mindless droaning is even more annoying than that of the air conditioner near my workstation that desperately needs some maintenance work .

Actually... it was .
I'm pretty sure that with all the experience I'm gaining from my listening to these annoying tales, I could come up with a Master of Droaning PrC without much difficulty... .

A while ago I saw a rather amusing definition for management in a guys sig it went something like this
Management (verb) manage, to tell other people to do something when youve got no idea how to do it yourself |
I am the King of Rome, and above grammar
Emperor Sigismund
"Its good to be the King!"

People are promoted to their level of incompetency.
Too bad we can't throw them down the Yawning Portal....yes?
SB who may have managed to keep his post on topic with that last line. |

Room 6 is up - someone else can provide the link thingy as I don't know how. Umm, a few interesting references to stuff that could be used in an FR sense and a decent encounter, but as an FR fan and not an FR gamer, they still leave me a bit cold - but then again, I guess the rooms aren't aimed or geared toward fans of my ilk anyway.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

I don't think that's just you. I'm finding myself increasingly discouraged with the fact that I was hoping to make some use of this material in my games. As an FR fan, I feel like I'm always trying to find more from these articles, but always end up with nothing, and frankly, it is becoming tiresome .

Regarding this latest room, #6, is Laughmantle even a noble family in Waterdeep? |

Not last time I checked, but the noble family doesn't have to be from Waterdeep, I guess. Although it would make sense ...

There seems to be more creative effort put into the īroom summaryīand īrelevant skill checksīthan actual content and relevant Realmslore...
Unless the Laughmantles are an obscure reference to a novel/short story, I donīt think they are native to Waterdeep. This being the case, I would have appreciated some insight into how he came into Undermountain... this one is almost laughable (quote: "Sorci was a young noblewoman who ventured into Undermountain with friends on a lark. She died trying to get at the chest, and her friends wouldn't risk retrieving her body. Now she haunts the chest and spiked chain, attacking those who try to get at the treasure she desired in life.")
I donīt have the source books at hand right now, so I canīt look up the original description by Ed... can anyone remind me what the room in contained in the original Undermountain boxed set (if anything)? |

It wasn't used in the main box set, so what WOTC wrote is made up. :) |

Actually, I have to check my source material to be certain, but I believe there is, or rather was, a noble family, named the Laughmantles, who once held power in the Suel Kingdom on Oerth.

How true, George! They should have used some mind-reading spell on Ed! Thatīs how you come up with all that wonderful Realmslore, isnīt it? |

Okay, thanks perhaps itīs better that they stick to all those "empty" rooms instead trying to come up with "updated" versions of the old ones? |
