I'd originally thought the same.
Both the sourcebook and the novel should prove quite useful indeed.

Room 3 is up. <sigh>
This one contains a plug for the miniatures, and for the upcoming Waterdeep book. Interestingly, though, it mentions the latter as a source of info about Trobriand the Metal Mage. So he's either moved up (literally!), or the sourcebook will cover, at least in very broad overview, Undermountain. |

This one wasn't too bad. In fact, it was quite good. mentions of Halaster and Trobriand (yes, the Metal Mage does receive some treatment in the new Waterdeep book). All in all, I'm much happier.

It was better than the last one. No sighs, turn that frown upside down..ah the hell with it....I like being morose too.

I think that's going to be standard now in each article. They are a company still, wishing to hype their products.

I thought way back when the product was first mentioned, that it was posted somewhere that Undermountain would be covered just as you described in a broad manner. Well, if curious, you know who to ask about this subject. |

I don't know, the mentions of Halaster and Trobriand were a plus, but it still seemed lacking to me... Maybe it's because of the previous two rooms. <shrug> |

Might be that you're getting it in small spurts. Perhaps when all the rooms are put together it will be more impressive looking back on it. I'll still remain guardedly optimistic...until the rotten &$##@ disappoint me again!!!! |

Considering the number of rooms in Undermountain, and their slow pace in releasing covering them, I'm thinking this is only a way to promote the Waterdeep book. I think they'll prolly cover Level 1 by the time the book comes out, and then they'll move to something new. |

Yes, when we first learned of this series of articles, I mentioned that this was no doubt a great way to promote the Waterdeep tomes they had coming out. Still, even a portion of Level 1 will be nice...I hope. |

Both are true?
Just to make sure we're on the same page... When I made that comment, what I meant was that he'd left Undermountain and was now in Waterdeep. Is that still true?
Oh, and is Squch still around? (I think that was its name; the automaton that led the revolt and chased Trobriand from his own sublevel) |

Ah, and see I thought you meant that he had moved up in Undermountain to levels closer to the surface. Thanks for the clarification. |

I'll be the third. :) Sorry Hamster, you weren't being clear the 1st time. |
For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Well, I for one am glad that the Seven are finally doing something! They have spent far too long just 'hiding out' in Undermountain. As powerful (and long-lived) as they are, you would think they would have something to do with the rest of the world. |

Actually, it's only like 5... One left early on, and one was killed during Halaster's Harvestide... |

Well, that is how we know Arcturia was killed -- her body was found.
Of course, as Steven also pointed out, there is the possibility that she had a clone who is now running around. But until I know otherwise, I'm assuming she's dead.
While you're here, Eric, a couple of questions, if I may. Is the coverage of Undermountain going to reflect the changes made to it during modules and the Dragon articles? And if Trobriand is still avoiding his sub-level, does that mean that the scaladar Squch is still around? |

If I remember correctly, I shipped Vhue and her boys off to a forest in Cormyr during the Higharvestide of 1369, ja? Let's indeed hope they remember that.
Of course, all I can remember now of Vhue was the art order: "We've got a small band of kobolds with a really brash female leader behind a makeshift barricade of junk. Make her as sexy as you can make a female kobold."
Steven Who is not kidding...
PS: On the matter of art orders, I find it amusing that some folks discuss Elminster as being patterned visually after Sean Connery when he's been the visual model for Khelben for many years.... I found myself watching Christopher Lee as Saruman and thinking he'd be a staggeringly good Elminster in look and timbre of voice... |

Given the recent upheaval to the dark elven race because of WOTSQ, the author can have a great deal of fun with that room. I hope he takes advantage of such an opportunity rather than just redoing the room with 3.5e stats. |

Good job SB. Looks like your FRadar is going great guns.
I like this one. The author appears to be hitting his straps and I like the option to have the mimic act as a hidden spy for a group of PCs. This is the best of the lot so far - good job!
