Aye.

The possibility of Undermountain as the setting for the novel is intriguing. And not only because of the future fate of the Mad Mage and the Manshoon clone that may be revealed. But it may further hint at what exactly happened to Halaster after the Escape from Undermountain module.

Assuming Undermountain and Halaster are to be feature in Erik's Downshadow... of course.

Eric, you are twisting my arm so hard it's bleeding. I've made a concious decision not to support WotC with my rands anymore, but your work is awfully tempting -- and I would be supporting the de Bie household if I succumbed. I'll have to think long and hard about this.

Erik's silence can only mean that one of us at least grazed the target!

Woo Hoo!!!

I think it is very cool that Erik gets to play in Waterdeep and Undermountain. But he also has to follow up Steven and Jaleigh in the series....now that's hard Work!!

Like going to see the otherwise sold-out Dark Knight on opening night for his birthday?

Ayep. That's what he be doing!

Oh . . . and I noticed he didn't answer the question.

Nicely played Sir Way to get out from behind the ole without giving us a darn thing! ::Polite Golf Clap all around::

Can you tell us if all the major players are Human? Gnomish Illusionist? Or Whatever?

Just curious, cause if there is a Tiefling, I am sure he/she will be making a sidetrip to Loudwater to court Lady Moonfire. And what side plot that could be.

Nope, no comment! It's far too early in the game to get into that.

That's a cool song, indeed, though I honestly prefer the Casino Royale bond song.

This One?

Thats a good song, but I will take Shirley Manson over Chris Cornell everyday of the week!

::Listening to Coldplay Viva La Vida, great song. The first lines kinda put me in mind of Dearly departed Helm and Mystra....wherever dead gods go, if they heard this song it would sum up what happened.

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemies eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me

I'm not always the biggest Coldplay fan, but I definitely enjoy that particular song. Well quoted.

As regards music with this particular novel, I have (like with GW) compiled kind of a playlist that I would often listen to while writing--the various songs just remind me of aspects of the characters and the sort of thoughts I was having as I made them. I'll get around to posting that one of these days (nearer the actual release).

Cheers

Introducing the still-surviving Manshoon clone to the finer points of Erevan-styled trickery perhaps?

Well, being around as long as he has, Manshoon has undoubtedly learned a few "tricks", if you will. She's just enjoying their demonstration.

Well, I can neither confirm nor deny anything about any of the content of the book. Whether any particular character is even *in* the book, much less doing anything in particular, isn't something I can comment upon.

I just wanted to mention that . . .

Yay, I guessed right!

Oh, and Happy Birthday. I saw Dark Knight too!

Belated birthday greetings Erik. You know, I remember when I turned 25, my friends and I... no, no... I won't bore you with that particular tale.

As for seeing The Dark Knight, the cinemas are booked solid here until later this week. *sigh* Let this be a lesson to pre-order tickets for future films I wish to see.

I'm going tonight at 10pm... can't wait. I read some flick/critics sites, and rumor has it that Heath Ledger may be nominated for an Oscar for his take on the Joker. Hehe... I'm glad to see other Garbage fans here at Candlekeep.

As it happens, Shirley Manson's stylings often come to mind when I'm considering the portrayal of the Sharessin in my Realms campaign.

As for vampire-ish robot-like constructs... any chance Downshadow will reveal one or two stored away in some forgotten cache of Undermountain, Erik?

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Same here Kuje, same here... still got the pink "G" album...

Garbage was the first band, IMO, to master the "sound wall" music type.

God bless them.

Long live Garbage!

Heh. I've actually got a signed copy from their first tour here. It's considered quite rare now, from what I've been told.

...

And Kuje, if it's their "Greatest Hits" compilation [from '07 as I recall], you may be able to save yourself a few dollars by purchasing the two new songs released through iTunes -- the other tracks are from previous CDs. That is unless, like me, you'd purchase the CD anyway because you're "that" type of fan.

...

BTW Erik, and to get slightly back on topic, I remember now that I never did post that playlist for Twilight that I promised last year. Do you mind if I include it on your blog?
