Yeah. What was that old Anna Russell monologue? Something about: So you go to the oldest man in the village to learn the song from him, and find out he's not just deaf, he's tone-deaf, he can't read, he's forgotten most of what he knows, and he never learned the song in the first place. And that's how folk songs are passed down from generation to generation.

Trusting in Lore, Part Two is up.
Among other things, an interesting (and, to the best of my knowledge, previously undisclosed) ability of Mystra's Chosen is mentioned... |

Very interesting.
And I like the ability as well. Of course, I'm curious to learn more about Elminster's history of using it... .

No idea, and it's a good thing too. I just might have had to develop my sneaking abilities otherwise - Laeral being my favourite among the Seven Sisters and all, and I doubt Khelben approves of Candlekeep scribes trying to sneak a peak on his consort |
There is a rumour going around that I have found god. I think is unlikely because I have enough difficulty finding my keys, and there is empirical evidence that they exist. Terry Pratchett |

Just a two-parter, I'm afraid. I'll pass on the interest in the Vilhon expressed here to Ed, to see if that (in time to come) it sparks something . . . love, THO |

Thanks THO . If you're looking for some specific interest areas though, I'd be more than happy to provide a few "suggestions"... .

Laughing Lass part two:

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Maybe there's just too much fur between the Hamster's paws... .
As for the RL... It was most enjoyable seeing another Extaminos reference.

And yet another article is up. This one is called Villainous Lures and details some confidence tricks common to the Realms. |

I particularly liked the last tale, about the dying elf. I've tried something similar to that in a campaign once before.
I can't wait to see what Ed's got planned for the next article .

A nice twist on the last tale is that the map, device, etc. actually is powerful and the swindler just doesn't know this fact. That could lead to many potential plot developments especially if the swindler finds out and wants the item back. |

This article about the Villain Lures I particularly enjoyed because I could actually find some use of them in a campaign.
You could easily use them against the PCs (if they are really dumb) or to set up a situation for PCs to encounter that leads to a quest. |

Ed did comment to me that he kept the Lures VERY basic and simple. In the "home" Realms campaign, of course, any such touches would be layered several subplots deep, so the illusion of "real life busily unfolding" will be very good and so we PCs literally have a dozen ready choices of things to pursue (or ignore) at any time. Then the DM can combine, shift, and twist these to respond to any the PCs DO chase after. Great fun.
 love, THO |

Funny how I was just talking about the ultimate manipulators (the baern) in another scroll, and Wooly provides us with a link to Ed's new Realmslore that deals with the subject of villainous manipulation...
Behold the mysteries of cyberspace .
