Yeah, I checked a couple of times during the day and began to think they might not post anything at all. Thus, what happens, not one, but two Realms articles.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

I honestly don't know, fellow scribes. Ed's handed in one series (on a place in the Realms) that's just as long as the Hammerstars saga, but most of the others are short (two-parters or four-parters). Remember, these are written "to order" - - a WotC person chooses the topics, number of articles for each . . . and what order they'll appear on the site in, too.

D'oh! I was hoping you could clue us in...

However, did you not at some time in the past mention some Waterdhavian lore Ed had written for the site? With the imminent arrival of the City of Splendors sourcebook, maybe we'll get a special treat from the website.

Maybe some scribe could post these articels on candlekeep so that they never will be lost?(I read on the wizards site that they get taken down after a while)

Permission would likely have to be obtained from Wizards to do that...

And really, I've not seen too many articles disappear from their site. They might be difficult to find, but they're usually still there, somewhere. I only know of a couple of articles that seemed to have actually been removed from the site, and those disappeared years ago.

I know more than a couple of us have a habit of copying new articles and such from the website into Word documents, so we've always got them handy.

I've got mine!

In fact, I'm looking at my open file now. I've been wanting to add some campaign note additions to Ed's original works for a long time now, and I'm finally finding the time to do it... .

I used to do that. With SageOS, I could simply integrate the basic HTML documents into the core prog and access them directly from my own desktop.

But since I've updated my OS, I've had to drop that particular function, at least for the moment, because I've restructured the way SageBROWSER accesses and downloads HTML documents and other web files.

Plus, having the Realmslore in neat and organised files keep everything sorted and makes them easier to search through when I'm looking for a particular reference.

I tend to save them as html-files and then convert them to pdfs.

There is a rumour going around that I have found god. I think is unlikely because I have enough difficulty finding my keys, and there is empirical evidence that they exist.

YAY! Ed brought Luruar back! WOTC removed it because it was "to hard" to pronounce.

This is an interesting one, isn't it? Of course, it makes no sense as written so far, but the title seems to imply that there are layers of misdirection/tall tales or plain untruths (that are taken as gospel) by sections of Realms society. I know that Steven Schend has long stated (and snuck into many 2E products) that Khelben is a master at such disinformation and has 'set up' many tales and whispers of lore over the centuries that in the present-day Realms are taken to be true. In fact, Khelben has even written books by 'sages' and 'loremasters' analysing information that he seeks to be made 'true' or believed, thereby lending such untruths legitimacy. It's a long endgame that Khelben plays and I'm wondering whether Ed is alluding to similar stuff in this latest Realmslore installment. I'm very, very intrigued. Oh, and welcome back, Luruar!

Ah yes, that's why I love Khelbun. I think this is going in that direction as well, that there are many rumors that are a lot different than what the actual truth is. It will be interesting to see if at the end of the the installment we see what seed of truth led to this tale.

Krash, you're reading this rightly. This is a two-parter, and the second offering relates something of how distorted "lore" like Tharnwood grow (with sages' and minstrels' embellishments) over time.
In other words - - these two pieces were supposed to be published alongside Lost Empires - - Ed's underscoring an "out" or "elbow room" for all Realms historians, and DMs, to twist lore to their own purposes, for their own campaigns, and not get tripped up on "but the books say this" arguments.

Now why shouldn't Realmslore be cobbled together just like real-world histories?
