......actually, I was being sarcastic, but I didnt say the dwarves were helpless, I just think the Elves(especially DROW) would win, I would give you a word in Drow for friend, but there isnt one, just one for "Non-Enemy/Ally". lol, kinda funny if you think about it. |

Actually, one thing is funnier than that, the fact that you spell at about the same level of a 5 year old. Also, how come you say your my "friend/Melon" then you turn around and talk ****? Sounds like deep down your a Drow in the making, lol. The Great Drizzt |

The difference between a dwarven stronghold and an elven city is basically this: strategy. Elves rely greatly on the secrecy of their locations while dwarves just beef up the defenses in preparation for direct confrontation. I'm not saying elves can't fight; that is definitely untrue. It's just that elves tend to avoid direct conflict in their homes. It all just boils down to preference really. Do you like smoke and mirrors or a display of force as your initial defensive tactic? |

Well most Dwarven places are hidden, I mean, take Mandracar, it is praticly hidden, the only way of entrance it through the eye of the needle, And that is compleatly hidden at high tide. |

It is a cave deep in a mountin, the only entrance is through a ten meter wide gap whitch opens out to the sea, it is only wide enough for one medium ship to pass through, It is known as the eye of the needle. When the tide is up the entrance is hidden. In side the cave is a fortress, the fortress of Mandracar, or ( hidden trade) in Dwarvish. It is the chossen port of those who, well, lets say don't want there cargo to be noticed. |

Where abouts in the Realms is Mandracar? What products is it mentioned in? Id like to find out more about it. I assume its a place of good-aligned dwarves? Who is the king\ruler? |

Although saying that, maybe its not "good-aligned", sounds more like a smugglers complex to me? A bit like Skullport perhaps? Is it purely inhabited by dwarves (and visiting traders of course)?

Well it was compleatly inhabated by Dwarves and the odd trader, About every 3 months A big ship came past docked outside, it couldent fit through the eye. It was ruled by Digrardo Dunefoot, but A great Evil spread a cross the land, people needed a place to hide, they said they would bring much food, the Dwarves wernt stupid and didn't want to go out eather, they were a little unconvinced, so the people offered them gold, and Dwarvish greed got the better of them. At first it all went well they got along well. But the problem came when it cleared up outside, the Dwarves didn't want the people any more, they had there gold, it was safe to hunt for themselves now, there boon of protection was over. The only problem was the people didn't want to go, the Dwarves got force full and in the end a halforc took matters into his own hands, he seiged the cidatel and killed the best Dwafes in Digrardo's army, Digrardo himself escaped with his youngest son, his Other two were slayn in the battle. From then on Grishar(the half orc) was in charge, but after a couple of months he was slayn and a blood saylor took over, and so on, juggling leader ship between men until they get killed and pass leadership on to the next man. Dogrardo him self was killed by a drunk in a City not far away. but 32 years later Thengardro son of Digrardo now the age of 35 took an army of 3000 Dwarves and reconkored the lands of his father.
That good enough for you. |

FRCS (Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting) has quite a usefull amount of detail on the Realms in general. The Silver Marches details nicely the area of the same name. Other then that, there are numerous FR sourcebooks dating back to 2e that still hold a wealth of information. Some of these books are (or were) available on the WotC website for free download. |

Rad, I've been looking and I found out some new info on Mandracar.
QUOTE Approaching from the land there is no indication at all of the busy port that lies ahead. In fact, even standing on the cliff edge it seems to the unsuspecting eye that the ships are destined to smash themselves into the cliff face. But here the masons of Endragro (great, great, great, great, great grandfather of Digrardo) spoken of in the Phroficeys have made there home. Here In the vest sea caverns the Dwarfs now Harbour there trading fleet. It goes on for a bit untill. Traders from all over Faerun travle here from Cormyer to Waterdeep for the Decadent festival of Endragric as the ledgendary hospitalty of the Dwarves spread. The main meating arears are: The white Pony tavern (or commonly known, the pony{or to many others, the P**s place}) where the visitors can sample a wide variety of beers & spirits from all over Faerun. Also there is the Market where shoppers can purchuse any thing from, Fine wine of Gullykin, Exotic statues from Thay or even, mixed spices and charms from the Harflings of the south.
Just thought you'd like that, Tiax. |

If you mean Dwarves Deep (FR11), that is an OOP product. It might be availbale as an electronic document on the Wizard's site. Or you can try www.hitpointe.com (an on-line used-books store) |
