I'm pleased with how it's going so far :) Never done this before but I'm having great fun. I think you might have to guide us along a bit Hammer, maybe as a narrative or something. We've got some great conversation going but eventually it's coming to the point where we all say 'So shall we go?', 'yes let's', 'great let's go'....... soooo....are we going yet?
Do you see my point? :)
By the way how will battles work?

I will e-mail everyone with the basics of combat. It will be a work in progress. I don't see it varying much from normal combat in a face-to-face game.
The actions of the players are now yours to make. I do think there is a pause in the action at the moment, but PDK started the introductions, and I think we're waiting just the Paladin's intro, if he decides to make one. Otherwise, just tell me what you want your character to do. I will piece everything together by round, or turn, etc. as needed.

Yes - I was wondering about this pause too. Reefy does have yet to make an e-mail response... but in the mean time, there is an action I'd like to take.

Don't worry I've been beating Reefy to get on and do it :) must be the first time ever I'm more organised than him. Heehee.

P.S. PDK you're a lucky man, I think nearly the entire party has taken it upon themselves to flirt with Joylin.

P.P.S. Excellent work on the twin thing by the way Woodelf and Mauddib, in fact I can't ever remember which of Darube and Dale is the stupid one and which is the clever one, and which is the ranger and which is the rogue. You're playing the twin thing excellently lol. I'm a twin in RL you know, ask Reefy he'll tell you I get +2 to all cha checks in rl as well :D

Whoa thanks, I've been trying really hard to work on what you suggested. I've also decided to get all the books and the source materials and players handbooks and everything. I hope it helps.

It's elite that you're a twin. I find there's somethign supernatural about twins. Are you and your twin close?

Not really close. We get on but we don't really talk about anything major or share that much stuff. We just have a laugh together :)
We're completely different, different body build, different hair and eye colour, slightly different tastes in music (got some of our tastes in common), he's doing drama at uni I'm doing maths hehe.
Apparently there's this thing called twin speak that most twins develop before they can speak a proper language that they use to communicate to each other, and sometimes they acn still remember that language when they grow up. Don't remember ours though if we ever did have one :D It's a pretty neat thing . It's cool being a twin, nice having someone to grow up with (i.e. not like an older or younger sibling). The cool thing is we have different birthdays :) born either side of midnight.

During his stay in Sundabar Kaladorm found some lore about a village in the frozen north. He plays you the song he wrote that night in the Trumpet Inn, a song of heroes, a song to inspire courage, and a song to while away the time travelling. The tune is soothing and strangely familiar, accompanied on the lap harp

[to the tune of Omaha by Counting Crows]

"Start tearing the goblins down
Run past the oak tree and down to the old Vale
Start turning the undead to their homes
Roll a new corpse over
In the middle of the night
There's a druid treading around in the gathered rain
Well mister, if you're going to walk on water
Could you send a heal my way?

Kuldahar
Somewhere in middle Icewind Dale
Get right to the Heart of Winter
It's the heart that matters more
I think you better turn your spellbook in
And hang your crossbow up at the door

Start threading through dungeons
Brush past the arrows that fly through the cold room
Start setting the yetis on fire
Knock the chieftain over
In the middle of the night
there's a druid chatting with animals on the porch
Hey mister, you don't want to talk to badgers
You're only going to talk to nothing else

Kuldahar
Somewhere in middle Icewind Dale
Get right to the Heart of Winter
It's the heart that matters more
I think you better turn your spellbook in
And hang your crossbow up at the door

Start running the evil down
Drop past the danger come up through the other side
Start hacking the orcs into the ground
Start a new tale over
In the middle of the day
There's a young man yelling about the heroes on their way
Hey mister, if you're going to shout about us
You know you should let the whole world come and see.

Kuldahar
Somewhere in middle Icewind Dale
Get right to the Heart of Winter
It's the heart that matters more
I think you better turn your spellbook in
And hang your crossbow up at the door

Kuldahar
Somewhere in middle Icewind Dale
Get right to the Heart of Winter
It's the heart that matters more
I think you better turn your spellbook in
And hang your crossbow up at the door "

Sorry I haven't been checking up at candlekeep much. I think I'm more into the e-mail thing now

My mother is also a twin and like you and your twin Kaladorm my mother and hers are not very much alike though they do get along.

I am also enjoying the campaign so far I can't wait for our first combat session! Well that and when Darube gets to ride his new mount

Yeah can't wait, we seem to have a lot of interesting mounts. Eventually I think Drontar is planning on getting a Hippogriff (like when he was in the Sky Legion back home).
Looking forward to our first fight too, am anxious to leave :) Once everyones done what they want to in town, can't wait to get moving.

Part of an e-mail I sent to Kaladorm reads in part:
When it comes to items a character can use I have certain ways they can identify them. With scrolls, they can "read" it, or in other words see what it says without speaking the words, and know what is on it. If they speak any or all of the words aloud they use the scroll. This way they know what they have without using it up. Beware, however, since cursed scrolls will activate whenever you look at them, read aloud or not.
With items like the songhorn, Identify spells, use magic device skills, or Bardic Knowledge are all ways to figure out what an item is or can do.
This may jive with the official rules, or not, but this is a quick run down of finding out what an item is and can do.
Can somebody give a brief rundown of the official rules since I am unable to look them up at the moment?

Woody and all. Try to check here at least once a week or more. I try to send everyone e-mail's with everything, but sometimes I respond back to someone, and later add the information here after I remember that only that person knows what I said.

While we do want to get out of the city, the arctic dwarves are encountering something in the stables. As soon as we're done with that we can assemble for the morning's journey.

Okay, I'm getting a mite confused.

What is supposed to be happening? You told us to slow down, but I thought that we should be speeding up. Now it appears to be on a dead stop.

Sorry, this is mostly due to me. Although, Dale and Darube(Woody and MuadDib) are on a quick side trek to get Darube's mountain goat from the stables.
I was down in Orlando last weekend, and its picking up at work with classes coming up(I'm a manager at a college bookstore). I will be out of here soon for the day, and getting everyone outside the gates is my goal. I will send an e-mail to all, but get your characters to the stables, or outside the city gates and we will get going.
