I think I'll hand that question over to the Lady herself, if you don't mind . I'm sure she'll have plenty to say on the incident once she finally returns.
Although, just between you and me, I think she's playing on my sympathies a little...taking advantage of my generous and helpful nature.... She's making me do tasks which I know she can handle herself, even in her present condition.... I think she's just abusing my help, or at the very least, enjoys having me at her beck and call .

Of course! Who wouldn't?
And I personally advise her to live it up as much as she can in the next while, till all bounds of reason have been broken! |

Well, I've sent my concept via Etherial mail to D-brane. Once I'm sure that it works, I'll be posting something to the list.

Just so long as she doesn't try to make you feel guilty or something. My mother does that a lot, though to her credit, I don't think she actually realizes it. |

That's a little complicated to answer PDK. You see, the actual campaign story begins in 976 DR (Year of the Slaying Spells). But for the most part, the PCs start on their journey just after Flamerule 1372 DR.

That's strange. I thought someone might have picked up on the particular significance of the year 976 DR, and then wonder what this could possibly have to do with the plot...

Offhand, that sounds like the time of the Thay rebellion.
Out of curiosity, we may need to discuss the fact that the deity my cleric worships wasn't around back then. I could be wrong, but I had thought Waukeen was a rather more recent deity to show up. If this means no tie to magic, that's cool. He's been down that road before.

As I said previously, only the plot begins in 976 DR. The actual players only start to get involved around 1372 DR. I like my adventures to be fully fleshed out before I begin. Your concerns about Waukeen - while valid - have no bearing on this adventure since your PC will not be exposed to this ancient period in history...YET! .
The FRCS states that Waukeen is considered to be a young and vibrant deity, so your original thought was correct. I'm know Faiths and Pantheons has more, but the FRCS is the only book I have with me at the moment.

Since I'm now at work on chapters 2 and 3 of the adventure, your comment about tears would seem to be close to the truth. Although, I've find a little tidbit of Realms history which may force me to make some changes to the introduction portion of the adventure. It now appears as though at least one or two members of the party may have to start in Sigil instead of Waterdeep...
I'll let you all know more once this little tidbit has been cleared up by George Krashos.

Just tell me what type of information you're looking for then? I'll try and help out in whatever capacity that I can .
And, since this will be campaign-relevant data I'll post it here, making it available to everyone so you can all read it and be familiar with whatever it is Arivia is looking for. Plus, it saves me having to make out all those ethereal mail messages...
Alaundo, I'd like to ask whether this is okay with you?. Since this is an FR PbEM, most of the planar information that I post will have a strong 'Realms' emphasis. But, if you're not happy with this then let me know and I'll see what else I can do .

My bad then, I must not have been paying enough attention when I read the first post. For some strange reason I had thought you were making a reference to planar time travel or something or another. I'll make certain that when posting late at night my caffeine levels are up to snuff.

That's okay, although you're not entirely at fault . I think I mentioned something about the possibility of planar time-travel a while back. Maybe you just remembered it from then .

I'd actually gotten all excited about the possibility of predating my deity and somehow sending Waukeen messages through time by having scrolls entrusted to places such as Candlekeep or chiseling warnings into something durable.
You know, things like, "Don't make any bargains with demons in 1358"

I'm going to be moving next Saturday May 22nd... across the country (from CA to TN in US for those of you who know the States ) Anyways I'm going to be pretty busy packing and then unpacking for the next week and a half or so until I get settled in. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to log on here at Candlekeep, I'm going to try not to, because everytime I do I spend at least a good hour reading everything hehe. But I will check my e-mail every day so please e-mail me if anything really important happens ok? |

That's fair enough Wood Elf, we'll try and keep you posted as much as possible . The campaign will be starting shortly after the 22nd, so you will most likely not miss that much and since most of the gameplay will be by ethereal mail anyway, your absence here will unlikely affect your knowledge of it.
If anything important is discussed here though, I'll collect the information together and email it out to you .

Since we'll be starting this game shortly, and there seems to be a great deal of excitement surrounding it, I'm going to be posting several previews of the adventure to come. Don't worry too much about spoilers, as there will be very little background information revealed.
Here's the first preview -
The Believer Once a devout paladin. After certain tragedies in his life, he stopped believing in his gods, his alignment, or himself. When he finally died, there was nowhere for his soul to go. It seemed to fizzle out from existence.
Now the Believer is back. Somehow, in the indecisive oblivion his soul hovered in, something happened that gave him hope, hope that caught fire, filling him with more faith that he ever had. He has (again, somehow) recreated his old body and he wanders about working miracles with his belief.
What happened to make the Believer lose faith? What could happen in his purgatory of nihilism to cause him to regain it to such an extent? What does he believe in now?
Check back in a few days for another exciting preview...

He's actually a character I had in my 'forge' for an upcoming Eberron campaign that I'll be DMing. So, unless any of you are completely familiar with what has been presented about the cosmology of the setting so far (which I think you are, aren't you Bookwyrm?) you probably won't understand the consequences of a wandering soul...
However, since that campaign has now been delayed until August, I'd found myself wanting to use him anyway. So, with a little modification he now appears in my PbEM.
