It may not be the biggest in the Realms but to me its the best.Lots of adventure to be had and coin to be made.Come by and visit me on Adder street. The grey house on Adder Lane just as you leave Gut Alley. On the right.I'll be there. |

I could not call any city or town a home really i am a wanderer when people find out you are half vamp let alone half demon they get kinda tempermental. although William is usually willing to accept me in waterdeep. but i also enjoy the comforts of the candlekeep. But if you really want to know my home it is the road I am the wanderer as well as the harvester. |
Some believe there is something more after death, if you really want to find out... go kill yourself and stop pestering me. |

Well after reading through the Campaign setting, looking at the various cities in some of the novels, I still say Baldur's Gate is the city of me dreams. Bland, and Dull but full of strong proud people. Peddlers, artisans or Hellspawn, it don't matter, The Gate has a place for 'em all. Beside's it's only a few days journey from CandleKeep. Still as much as I'd like to call the Gate home I'd be more at home saying it was Icewind Dale, since ( Like my RL home) it's cold all year round mostly because of when the wind howls up the valley. Not snow all the time but There hasn't been a month that I've never seen it snow. The Great White North! |

Since the destruction of the Green Elven city of Perth in -10,354 DR, the Sage of Perth has at one time or another, called many places 'home'. These have not always been easy choices, instead, necessity (for a nice quite place to read and study) would usually be the reason for settling down in one place for a period. Even then, these places would normally lay on the outskirts of the settlements and/or cities, close enough for access to the libraries and other amenties necessary for the sage/wizard - but far enough from the petty disturbances that usually entail the running of a city. None however can compare to the purely inspiring nature of the Sage's current home...Candlekeep.

I don't call any one city my homeland. My homeland is actually a demiplane, sealed to most... I don't do this because I'm simply on the move too much. I travel, and enjoy the Realms as I go. The city of my dreams would have to be Leuthilspar in Toril. I'd take Sigil over that, however, and Aekonir(from my own campaign setting) over both of them. |

After all of my long quests I return to the place, the place where everything started and will eventually end: The city of splendors. I heal mu wounds and drink the best wine, spend the gold I took from a forgotten tower and help the less fortunates But surely I cannot retire yet even though I promised to myself many times. Where people suffer and tyrants rule without mercy, I will be there to fight for the good of people. Here I go again. For freedom and for people, I swear to Lathander that hope will never vanish from the hearts of suffered till all the heroes' and the fabled lands of pride fall.

Imagine wonderful glades, gardens,trees... Imagine a place of joy and peace... Imagine a place of unity... Elves, dwarves, halflings, humans... Imagine a river running hastily with its beautiful colours and magical reflections... Imagine a tavern with an elf united in motion with a beautiful sound while the dwarf drinks his spirits, and sings loudly... Imagine a graceful lady whose smile shines like a red rose in bright moonlight, welcoming you to the gem of north, Silverymoon...
That is my home, my birthplace. My dreams and my nightmares. The place where i felt joy and sorrow. Where i was once a bright light. Where i became darkness itself. Where i first resided, and first banished.
One day i will be back. |

Waterdeep. It was the only place where i was accepted. There was a merchant ,who saved my life, who was like a father to me... I wonder if he still lives? But i guess not, a life of a human is indeed too short...
One day i left from the port of waterdeep and i never returned, i really miss my life in waterdeep. It is inarguably the greatest city in toril, but i still say, Your homeland is your mother, evercaring Your homeland is your first lover, always special. |

Almost fine,a little tired and half sane as always :)
I liked this place, the shelves are a little dusty :), but who cares? If there is knowledge and power, a sage could even go into most terrible pits of nine hells. |

My character here, as the Bookwyrm, has a demiplane of a large manor and appears to be an island in the middle of an endless sea; in actuality, the plane ends about halfway to the horizon. Just enough room to do a little flying in his dragon form. (A warding spell warns when one aproaches too close to the edge.)
The manor is large because part of it is dragon-sized, for both his natural form and for visitors who don't have the power (or inclination) to shapeshift. It's located at the base of the island's mini-mountain, which is honeycombed with dragon-sized caverns.
There is a large field where he allows some cattle to graze, and some fish are also present in the (fresh water) 'ocean.' He doesn't actually need much food, thanks to magic, but he'll get cravings as usual.
For my actual game characters:
My half-elven wizard (level 3) comes from Silverymoon, where he spent much time in the Lady's College. Unfortunately, he's been driven out by a political enemy: a gold elf who sees him as an upstart mongrel.
My human fire-wizard (level 9) hails from Calimshan, but is disatisfied with that culture. He has most of the arrogance of his people, but detests the class structure and the institution of slavery. Currently, he has no permanent home. He doesn't like to depend on anyone, either, so he's likely to just wander until he feels like settling down -- likely on some mountainside where he won't have too many visitors.
My human fighter/wizard (levels 4 and 5) isn't from Faerun at all, or even Toril. As such, until he finds a way back to his own world, he'll always be an outsider (though not in the game-rule sense of the word), and so isn't likely to settle down anytime soon. He's currently adrift in this new world. |

Actually, when asked, the Bookwyrm usually smiles and says something along the lines of "Hm, it certainly would be nice to create such a place." He never says if he made it all, or simply found and modified it.
(In reality, it's a modified version of something I made for another story. This one is about a fourth of the size of that one, and the old manor was quite different. Other than that, and the smaller details, it's basically the same.)
As for the fighter-wizard, I detailed him on this scroll. It's about halfway down the first page. Just look for the extra-long post -- my trademark, I guess.
Now if only Sage's workload would lighten up so that I could get some feedback on the details. Then I might paste in some more of the information into a new scroll. Assuming anyone's interested, of course. |

Sorry about that Bookwyrm . I promise to get to that as soon as possible.
The funny thing about a 'lighter' workload is (well it's not exactly funny, but...) I have had some spare time this week, what with the university lecturers here going on rolling strikes, but I have had to keep studying anyway, so interruption to university schedule or not, one still has to keep up the effort. On top of that, I have had to work a few extra hours these last few weeks, so any spare time from university has been taken up by work anyway...
Anyway, I'll send you some information that I have been working on concerning the 'project' just as soon as I get some 'spare' time.

No I am not moving.I would like to get a map of the city in 2d or 3d.I have several of Waterdeep that are poster size but I only have the city map that show the streets.I printed a huge one from my Interactive Atlas by section and adding them together but I want more detail than a flat map.I would like to make some tiles and build the city for a mod for BG or BG2. |

Don't worry, Sage. When you can. I've got a large workload myself, which is why I haven't been here at the 'Keep as much as I would wish. Just let me know in plenty of time to make any necessary changes . . . . |
