I cannot put into words how much better this news makes me feel about 4e novels. Maybe it should not affect my overall view of 4e novels coming up, but it does!

This is fantastic news!

This is simply GREAT!!!!

Still feels hard to believe... the cancelation was the biggest deception I felt in a long time, what a luck for the realms that Godborn will be published!

Honestly, I don't really like Cale so I don't care if Paul resurrects him in this trilogy or not. Although I hope I will like his son. I'm still going to buy a copy, for this is going to be the continuation of Twilight War, which I really like.

And the Shadow knows...

I hope Candlekeep continues to be the friendly forum of fellow Realms-lovers that it has always been, as we all go through this together. If you don’t want to move to the “new” Realms, that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with either you or the “old” Realms. Goodness knows Candlekeep, and the hearts of its scribes, are both big enough to accommodate both. If we want them to be.

This is what Paul had to say today about Brennus.

Paul, could you give Brennus some nice parts in the upcoming trilogy? Since I read Continuum he has become my favorite realms character and I would love to see more of him.

SC,

Brennus has an important role to play in the Cycle of Night.

Does that answer your question?

He also said Rivalen will be in this book. So, there, (needless to say
) the badass Shadovar will be back. I just hope Telamont and the other princes will be given some attention, too...Though considering that such book is only 300-something pages (which I personally consider too few to contain a fantasy story), I won't hope much.

Yes.... Azrim was the only Sladdi to survive the encounter. Hell, Azrim almost killed Riven. He would be a great enemy indeed. I believe he became a Death Sladd. Over 200 hit points!

Actually, seeing as Riven showed the lord of Cania the true meaning of pain, and he is a god now, it's quite understandable if Azriim is laying low in the terrain

Azim was alive in book 2 and that is as far as I can tell for I did not read the last book of the trilogy. I am not a Cale fan. Anyway, if in case Azim returns in Godborn, maybe as a minor nuisance since the Shadovar (or whoever else) play the major bada**.

Having just finished the Twilight War trilogy and thinking, "What a shame that he's not writing the sequel," this is astoundingly good news (though apparently I'm a bit late to pick up on it). Still, I'll certainly be picking this one up when it comes out -- The Twilight War trilogy was absolutely amazing.

Does anyone know when Godborn will be released?

I've looked online at Indigo Books (Canada's largest bookstore chain) website but there was no information on the release date.

I'm a big fan of Erevis Cale and all the books involving him. Even when I was reading the Realms of War anthology and "Shadowrealm", I was thinking that there was likely going to be a sequel to continue the storyline.

There is no release date yet. Paul mentioned that it will likely be a next years release.

Anyway, if you want to read some short samples from Godborn, check out Paulīs blog http://paulskemp.livejournal.com/.

The samples are:

and
here (this one with Riven)

Hoo boy, those do a lot to excite a man. It definitely seems we would've lost something great had the novel never seen the light of day.

skychrome,

Thanks for the links. I can't wait for the new novel to come out. I hope Erevis's son comes out and gets revenge for all the crap his dad went through...

I canīt wait either. Cale is not my favorite character as such, but all Paul S. Kempīs books are simply the best I have read so far in the realms and I might even say since I read Tolkien. Really love 'em.

Even worse than waiting for Godborn is having to wait a long time again till Godbound and then again Godslayer.

Good old Death Slaad.

I still found it curious that in the books, the Sojourner thought they would only be happy if they transformed to the "Final" phase of Slaad, a deatn slaad. Being like 12000 years old, you would think the Sojourner would know that there are 2 more levels to evolve to after a Death Slaad.

A death Slaad evolves to a White Slaad, and a White Slaad evolves to a Black Slaad(Which is stronger than an ancient Wyrm)
