Yes Arivia, I'll get to that soon. Unfortunately, since the last update to my website on the 10th December (don't bother checking as it is down again this week...), I've had little time to work on this project, what with exams, other gaming committments, Christmas, and now the recent New Year's celebration.
I've also been spending alot of my free time finishing up the PbeM so we can hopefully get it started this month.
I'll try and have something next week...hopefully...

Well, I've got some previews for this 'little' project coming sometime next week, as well as some other details a number of other scribes here have been working on during their free-time.
However, I thought I'd take this opportunity before hand to see whether those interested in helping out with this project had made any more progress...???

Is this thread dying out??! It seems replies are few and in between. How about presenting a (rough) map or two of (some parts of) the adventure?
Too bad, if all the good effort that has been put to the project is wasted now... |

I'm afraid I'm out of touch in regards to this subject. Sometime I'll review the whole thing, but it's a lot to go through. |

Fear not Rad. Although I haven't had much time to work on this project within the last week, as I explained on the 16th of this month, I've got some nice juicy previews from some future 'detailed' posts coming soon. They've taken longer to work up that I originally expected mainly due to the fact that I was awaiting both the release of the Underdark tome, as well as a number of third-party sourcebooks. And, as I've stated on many previous occassions, time is a factor that is always working against me.
And finally, I'm trying my best not to break the continuity of what has come before regarding official information on the Deep Rift home of the Dwarves, so cross-referencing my ideas with the various sourcebooks also takes time.
As well as all of this, the Lady Kazandra has also been putting some of her own ideas to work in a number of areas which I had already considered 'largely complete'. I'd argue against her effort, but her suggestions are quite interesting...you'll see...

If you have any ideas you'd like to include, or are interested in helping out in this area, let me know and I'll see what I can come up with. Otherwise -
At this point, the only existing maps for this adventure are the rough area maps, and some region-sketches that I have drawn up myself. I intend to clean them up a little (since several have a plethora of notes, and ideas scribbled all over them) and eventually host them on a friend's website so those interested can view them and suggest improvements.
I'll let you know more on this as it happens...

I dont want to seem like an obnoxious know-it-all, but anyway; Illithids do not die when you kill the elder brain, however it is of course a major loss to the community since they have a hard time pursuing their ultimate(?) goal, the gathering of knowledge. In the new underdark module for instance there is a community existing whitout an elderbrain and instead ruled by a covenant of illithliches. |

Ok, what happened to this thread, it was potentialy a really great idea! Although, I think the whole dwarf thing has been done to death, just check the old Dragon Lance adventures for instance. It would be really cool to have an adventure that would not be a typical Tolkien semi-ripoff. Dwarf reclaiming mother/father-land, who would have thought it? However an epic FR adventure is a great idea, just keep it above ground, include no drows, beholders, illithids, dragons, vampires or other cheap monster-thrills. Try instead something abitious, like a power play between nations, like Amn vs. Calimnshan or something with Cormyr. I would for once like an adventure that is focused more one drama and intrigue than on re-living Lord of the Rings scenarios in an almost self-defiling manner. But then again, who am I to talk....

Ius, your concerns are well founded, and I agree with you to an extent. However, I intended from the very beginning for this module to be something very different from everything that had been published on Dwarves (regardless of setting) before. I've even borrowed one or two ideas from the older editions of the Warhammer games, that deal with the dwarves, in order to establish a rather thick line of difference between this new work, and previous dwarven-based modules...Of course, it was necessary to maintain some elements of familiarity and - to a lesser extent - continuity (as I mentioned previously), so that it continues to hold a particular Realms flavor.
So far, very little of the actual storyline has been put together. One or three ideas from this scroll may have been enough to create a basis to begin from, but from there it's been a matter of forging a new direction. You'll see - once the few previews I intend to release - how the amount of work and effort from those involved so far have produced something entirely new...and very unique.

I love maps! If you could give me an URL to the rough maps and sketches to the adventure I would appreciate it. And if it tickels my curiosity I might involve myself in the map-creations. (I loooove maps!). |

I haven't uploaded the map images yet (mainly through lack of time), although I've set some time aside this weekend in order to concentrate on getting these images finished and ready for comment.
I'll let you know about the 'url' then...

To those who have interest...
I may also have a number of small sectional maps of the Deep Rift (where some of the parts of the adventure are likely to occur) ready for viewing and comment as well.
Unfortunately, they probably won't be in colour...

This project seems to have died off in March, a month or so before I even knew Candlekeep existed. Is anyone still working on it? There are some great ideas in here, and I'd hate to see it all go to waste... |

About that, I think.
Also, we have an additional problem: The Shining South sourcebook. |

What about moving the adventure? It doesn't seem like anything's been set in stone yet. Delzoun could be an intriguing setting. There would be plenty of room for Sage's Illithids and submerged areas to take advantage of Bookwyrm's ideas. |

I've released what little I have written about this adventure so far on another forum. But, before everyone starts preparing their combat spells and hurling mass amounts of arcane death upon my exposed skullcap (), I'll just add that it was exclusively for comment and critique. I should have something ready to post within the coming fortnight.

I can, but you would not be able to access the relevant section of the forum. It's exclusively for moderators, authors and game developers (online supplements only). It can only be accessed once you register (which costs money). The only reason that I could even post the information there is because I'm co-authoring one of their soon to be released supplements. I thought that since so many great designers and the like were visiting those boards, it would be an interesting idea to present my Realms material for critique.
I'm afraid you'll just have to wait until I present it here. Sorry...

Obviously this thread has died out, but I just thought to comment on the concept of an epic adventure involving dwarves (which apparently was the original concept).
I always thought that the Mines of Tethyamar would be a nice location for a huge module involving both a load of Realmslore and dungeon exploration... in fact, I am someday going to get my PCs involved in the ´Return to the throne, part 1´ adventure (by Bill Sweeney, used to available for download on numerous websites).
Another suitable place would have been The Wailing Dwarf, which apparently contains ancient ruins of a dwarven city...
