Character
Description and History
Lordin's family once lived by one of the ancient elven kingdoms
(he could never figure out wich one, elves kept terrible records
of their dealings with humans and most of the humans at the time
didn't know how to write) somewere along the lines, one of his ancestors
married and elf (this was hundreds of years ago)and elven characteristics
pop up occasionaly in their blood lines. Such is the case with Lordin,
he is, according to his calculations, at least 1/25th elf, probably
the agile part.
At a young age, bored with life on the farm, he ran away to the
fabled city of Silverymoon to study and learn the art of magic.
While pursuing his amature studies Lordin joined a local gang to
pay his bills, were he learned, and mastered dagger dueling. Within
two years he had learned all he could from the libraries open to
the public (so he says, in reality there was an incident with a
fireball spell and some manuscripts that resulted in him
being banned from all places housing tomes within the domain of
Silverymoon)
After 'chosing' to leave Silverymoon, Lordin traveled to Baldur's
Gate in the hopes he would be allowed access to the vaults of Candlekeep
(this quest would prove useless as librarians from Silverymoon and
Candlekeep talk often!) It was this city that he met the care-free,
armored whirlwind known as Thorin.
The two became fast friends and have traveled the world over. This
is especially helpful for Lordin since his ban has spread to almost
every library in the Realms and lets him access the magic and tomes
of ancient ruins.
Lordin is currently working on mastering the art of enchanting
weapons, his first effort, while impressive, works only sporadically.
His workshop is well out of the small villiage he and Thorin are
currently protecting as it has a tendency to erupt in flames or
emmit toxic gases. Nevertheless, his experiments carry on undaunted.
As you can see, a ring of fire protection is necessary while
traveling with Lordin. (this is a fact that Thorin learned early
on when Lordin hurled a fire ball into a group of monsters Thorin
was engaged with, killing the monsters and greatly annoying the
dwarf.
