Character Description and History

Thorin grew up in a small dwarven mining outpost in the Cloud Peak mountains. At a young age, his obvious strength made him a candidate to apprentice under the clan smith. To most dwarfs this would have been an ideal life, but not Thorin. Forge work bored him to no end and he would often sneak off to watch the militia train or plan elaborate jokes on the Master Smith or read one of the clans records of heroes, which annoyed the Smith to no end.

Within a year Thorin's apprenticeship was at an end, with predjudice and he was banned from ever setting foot in the smithery.

With no real job in the clan, and no one wanting to work with him, Thorin decided to follow in the footsteps of the heros he had read so much about. Armed with only a axe and his smithy hammer (actually it was the Master Smiths but Thorin considers it compensation for a year of utter tedium!).
