Yay, let's kill some gods... Lolth had it coming for a while and if I can trigger my healing surge and use my daily über-ability then I can hit her just in time for the rogue to activate his yearly ability of offing anything while it is distracted!

I think it might be in their best interest to stop telling us their plans. |

I think they cannot control the damage they've already done...why should they start damage control now when the Realms are already underneath ground zero? |

In fairness, we do not know how much the Realms were changed, and we should be fair. Only about 5 months to release to FRCS and other then released information that is what should be used, I will admit that I do not like announced changes to the Realms, but those changes are only part of the Realms not the entire Realms.
Perhaps there will be something you and I will find that we like (might not be the same thing) when we actually see 4th FR. I do know 4th Ed. FR team peomisises that we will overall like the changes. Of course that is opnion and WotC reseach of what will sell. A company needs to sell something in order to survive. |

Personally, I can't wait to see what they're gonna screw up next.
Magic screwed up? Check. Lands and continents screwed up? Check. Pantheons screwed up? Check. Destroying opportunities to tell good stories for which plot hooks had already been provided (Manshoon Wars, Harper Schism)? Check. Well, they already did that in 3e. Alienating the fanbase? Check.
Maybe we're gonna see Godzilla? Or Darth Vader? They're both cool... the old Vader from 20+ years back of course. Or they introduce Cthulu via the Deep Realm or whatever it is called. Maybe Mirt will morph into the Realms-equivalent of Donald Trump with a penthouse and stuff... no, wait...got that one already... of sorts. Maybe Halaster returns... as... Godzilla!!!

Go WotC!
*Shush*, Mace! Don't give them any funny ideas!
You could try running the Pathfinder RPG in FR, since it's a completely "non-fluffy" system although you would assume that it'd have Feats, Prestige Classes and magic related to Golarion. |

Actually, I will play in Golarion with one group, first with 3.5 then with Pathfinder RPG. Won't change to Pathfinder with the other group until I have more insight to the rules changes and the skill system works more to my liking, so to speak. Further, I need to figure out how to deal with the Realms Prestige Classes. |

SirUrza, over at Paizo's site, said that at a convention Q&A that the 4th edition team mentioned updating a campaign setting a year, and that they felt it was a bad idea to "bloat" a campaign setting with too many books, which lead me to believe that we may ONLY be getting a FRCG and a FRPG, and perhaps adventures, and then we go back to 3.5 era "heavy lifting" for the novels, i.e. nothing that might change or get detailed or resolved in the novels will be codified in sourcebooks.
Except, of course, articles in the new Dragon . . . |

Did I mention before that the entire downgrade (it isn't an upgrade at all) for the Realms was a big, stinking load of manure? |

Now, Mace, come on. Manure serves a purpose. Let's not give it a bad name. |

Okay, that was nearly spit-take worthy.

We already have them in FR - they're called gargantuas and live on Moster Island, near Kozakura. Besides Godzilla, we have Mothra and King Kong... and Gammora, if you want to include the Zaratans.
Also, BJ mentioned a battle with Krakentoa in Imaskar (in the GhotR), and all I could picture in my head was an Exxon Station in downtown Inaupras blowing up.
Especially considering that that region is home to the Dzalmaus (King Ghidra).

So, basically they will be holding our Realmslore 'hostage' - we get just two books (which could have been done as one big one), and we must pay for the DDi if we want to find out anything else.
Just one more reson why NOT to play in 4e Realms - the DDi hasn't lived up to its promise (big suprise there), and those advertisements they are calling articles don't come anywhere near the quality of Paizo's Dragon magazine. They are a joke, really... the only recent one that wasn't a thinly-disguised ad for 4e was The Headless Zhent.
