Most if not all of them are from Power of Faerun, which included a large number of "current clack" entries for each of the examples it used (Iron Throne, Sythillisian Empire, the Risen Sun heresy, and the Border Kingdoms)

It was a timeline that failed to make the editorial cut for "Power of Faerūn". Eric and I suggested it go in and Kim Mohan did the rest.

Brian, I just want to say that The Grand History of the Realms will be translated to brazilian portuguese in 2008!

It will be one of the very few tomes that we will have in our language!

Dwarf, DM, husband, and proud of this! :P

Wow, I didn't know that Chosen. That's great news! Though I don't speak Portuguese I may have to pick up a copy for my collection :)

I'm glad it did. I've always kind of liked the Iron Throne, and wished there was a bit more available on it.

I just discovered that WotC has recently made The Grand History of the Realms available for purchase in electronic format as a downloadable PDF from DriveThruStuff.com.

Even though I already have a hardcopy, I am going to buy it again as a PDF so I can use the search function to find names, dates and other lore quickly. For me it's a must-have item to keep on my computer as a reference document available for frequent searches. I am really glad they did this!

I'll buy it, too, but not today... Maybe on payday. We're on a new pay schedule, and it's taking some adjusting.

But isn't it ironic? The pdf gave birth to a print sourcebook, which is now available as a pdf. It's come full circle.

this is one tome worth getting on PDF, just for the search function alone.

Good point.

In 4th Edition I thought I heard something about getting some sort of key/code in each hardcover book, which would permit you to download the electronic version for a minimal additional charge. It is indeed too bad that the Grand History doesn’t support this. As others have said, the search feature is pretty invaluable for a book like this.

Additional charge?

I thought that feature was going to be part of PAYing for D&D Insider... oye.

I think the electronic book content in 4e is supposed to be independent of DDI, so you can get it even without paying for DDI. But I guess we'll see once they have the pricing figured out.

Yes you can buy it in both, but you have to buy them quick (preferably subscribe) because the printed versions of 1 and 2 have sold out and suspect they will continue to.

I would like to clarify if Gorauna and Goarauna are the same person. The names are in The Obarskyr Royal Line on page 76 and 77. Is this a typo? Is this the same person or not?

Ok. Perhaps more errata? Sagrannon 1st son of Belmuth is born in 324. Imbrus I the 2nd son of Belmuth is born in 322. Slight discrepancy, yes? Anyone with canon knowledge care to answer this?
