Given that its Thanksgiving in the States, I thought I would take the time to give thanks for all of the things related to the Realms that I appreciate, especially since I think the authors and designers really need to hear how great they are once in a while, and how much we appreciate the work and the detail that they put into the products that they work on.
And I'm going to contain my thanks to 2006 for right now; On with the thanking!
1. I am thankful for the strong novel line. I honestly think that the overall quality of the novel line is better now that it has ever been. Not that my absolute favorite novels have come out recently (you will always have fond memories of the books that shaped your initial impression of the setting), but that overall, the quality on average is very high, and that for the most part you know if you pick up a Forgotten Realms novel you will be reading an enjoyable book.
I am thankful not just to the authors for this, but also to the editors that work on these books as well, who most likely don't get to hear enough praise of the efforts that they put into the line.
So, I would like to thank Phil Athans and the other editors that work on the book line, first off.
And I would like to thank Steven Schend, James Davis, Bruce Cordell, Rich Baker, Phil Athans (again, this time as an author), Richard Lee Byers, Paul Kemp, and Murray Leeder for writing some increadible and enjoyable novels for me to enjoy this year, and for adding, and reviving, great Realmlore.
(Also, before I forget, thanks to RA Salvatore, Ed Greenwood, and Erik Scott DeBie for their short stories in Realms of Elves)
Any authors I missed, I can only say I'm sorry, but I didn't quite get to your books this year. I still appreciate your work, and I promise to try harder next year 
2. While I didn't get Swords of Eveningstar, I would like to than Ed above all for the amount of time he spends, even when he isn't specifically attatched to a project, in being the inspiration and guiding hand of the Realms. Between his articles on WOTC's site, and his answers here, as well as his apparent conversations with a great many authors and designers, Ed has provided, and continues to provide a wonderful framework and tone to the Realms for other talented people to follow.
3. Thanks to everyone that worked on Forgoten Realms game products this year, in order to keep the gaming side of the Realms viable and visable to new faces.
Special thank yous to Eric Boyd, for his work converting various Dungeon Adventures to the Realms, his Dragon Magazine article, his work on Dragons of Faerun, and Power of Faerun, as well as his time he takes to come here, and the work we don't get to see as well.
Also, thanks to Eytan Bernstein for his work on Dragons of Faerun, but even moreso for his time that he spends here, and the obvious appreciation of the Realms that he has, as well as his insight to newer fascets to the D&D 3.5 game.
4. Thanks to Erik Mona for deciding to increase the presense of the Forgotten Realms in Dragon Magazine, and for picking up some talented authors to write those articles.
Also, another special thank you to Ed Bonny, Brian Cortijo, Richard Farrese, and László Á. Koller for reworking a section of the Realms to make it new and excitiing, keeping it true to its origins while more firmly tying it to the rest of the Realms.
And a thank you to George Krashos, for hanging out here and chiming in from time to time, and for giving us a look at Impiltur after teasing us for so long about it.
Oh, and to reiterate, thanks to Eric Boyd again for his article on Realms planetouched races.
5. Thank you to Alaundo, for this wonderful site, and for the guiding hand behind it. Thank you very much for the outlet for our shared obssession, and the direction to keep it a fresh and wonderful place to express new ideas and discuss old ones.
6. Thank you to all of the members of the Candlekeep Compendium, for their work in putting out very high quality works for all of us to enjoy, and for all of the effort it takes to put this together.
7. Thank you to all of the contributers to this site, for providing stimulating conversation, and great sounding board, and a place with friends and family for a Forgotten Realms junkie.
For all of the Americans out there, Happy Thanksgiving . . . to every one else, thanks for everything!

I'm Thankful for this site because it's an outstanding site and the moderators are sooo helpful, thanks again Alaundo.
I'm also thankful to have a regular group to play in, being in the Navy it's a real treat to have a game that goes for more than three sessions.

I ain't no American, but I do remember the one and only Thanksgiving Dinner I ever had, so every 'keeper stateside, enjoy your stuffing, turkey and all the other yummy stuff! (Hell, I wish I had some turkey as well!!! Damn, now I'm hungry!)

| Surprisingly, everyone's enjoying Thanksgiving dinner right now, so there's no one around to talk to...Oh well. I'm also thankful for everything yall have stated! Long live the Realms! Now, I'm going to go find some cranberry sauce, maybe round up my sister or someone, and throw a party. That should be fun! |

I've just picked up one thing... 'Twas something my girlfriend saw at the bookstore that she quite wanted, so I went back the next day, while she wasn't around. I'm not sure what else to get her, though.  |
