Hi,
I made up this list of OOP novels that I don't have on my bookshelves.
If some you have a bunch of them that I could buy, I would be much interested. I prefer to avoid buying them one by one because of s&h cost (I'm from Canada).
The Harpers Series The Parched Sea Red Magic The Night Parade The Ring of Winter Crypt of the Shadowking Soldiers of Ice Masquerades Curse of the Shadowmage The Veiled Dragon Finder's Bane
The Murder Series Murder in Cormyr Murder in Halruaa
The Netheril Trilogy Sword Play Dangerous Games Mortal Consequences
The Lost Empires Trilogy The Lost Library of Cormanthyr Faces of Deception Star of Cursrah The Nether Scroll
The Lost Gods Series Tymora's Luck
The Nobles Series King Pinch War in Tethyr Escape from Undermountain The Mage in the Iron Mask Council of Blades
The Threat from the Sea Trilogy Rising Tide Under Fallen Stars The Sea Devils Eye
Sembian series Black Wolf (will be reprinted)
Edit : A clean up of the list.

If you re lucky, you might find some of them in "new" condition via abebooks.com. "New" books there are rare and in-between, but sometimes can be found. |

I wasn't clear, I don't have a problem with used book, but buying each of them individually on ebay would get costly for shipping issues (I'm from Canada). |

Sorry Skeptic, you did not hit any of the ones I have extras of. Maybe we should have a swap/trade setup here at Candlekeep or elsewhere? Anybody done that before? What would be the best way to handle it?
EvilKnight
BTW, I have available Once Around the Realms (Thomson), Daughter of the Drow (Elaine), Starless Night (Salvatore) and Siege of Darkness (Salvatore). All paperback and like new except for Once Around the Realms which has creased spine and some edge wear. |

I noticed you are from Sherbrooke, can you make it into Ottawa? There is a game shop there that may have some of the novels you need |

Hi Skeptic,
You can try at l'Imaginaire in Québec City (or the web site, imaginaire.com). They still have Realms of Magic and Realm of Mystery and possibly some others from your list.
Hope that help.

not an online option, but I hit just about every used book store, everywhere I went, to collect any of the oop novels that I had not accumulated as they were published. saves on shipping anyways |

I've gotten a couple of novels -- including the Murder books -- from eBay, myself. I know there's a couple of other sites people have recommended for finding books.
Oh, and Fistandantilus Reborn is one that can be skipped. All it does for that trilogy is intro a single character, and that character's backstory isn't that important to the next book. FR is set on Krynn, and, other than the fact that the one character gets reused, is wholly independent of any other books. And personally, though others may disagree, I didn't think the book was all that good. |

I have extra copies of all the "Realms of..." books, with the exception of Realms of the Elves, to which I did not contribute a story. I also have copies of the Counselors & Kings trilogy, which are not, to the best of my knowledge, OOP.
Drop me an email if you're interested. I would LOVE to get a few of my extra copies out of my basement, and I'd be happy to see them get a good home. Generally I sell books, even hard-to-get older books, at cover price, which includes postage costs to North America addresses. |

I trade in OOP and Rare D&D / FR products & novels and have contacts all over for this type of thing.
I'll check their book lists for you (I ship the world over at a good price) and I think I have a couple in stock myself I'll have to check but i'm sure I have Finders Bane and some of the other Harpers series though secondhand but still in good condition, I'll check.
Elaine, If you have any extra copies I would love to buy them from you. I am based in the UK but I will gladly cover any Postage costs. They would be even better if you could see your way to signing them!!! PM me if you would like to sell. Thankyou.

Only the first book of Counselors & Kings trilogy is still available on Amazon and Barn&Nobles, the 2 others are declared OOP.
For those interested, Barnes&nobles still has some copies of Cormyr (paperback). |

The UK Amazon site have a few of the first and third books of the Counselors and Kings Trilogy in stock, last time I checked.
I suggest writing into WOTC Customer Service, asking for a few reprints of the books you really want.

Next time I'm in the used book shops around here, I'll make a list of what they have available FR-wise.

I have doubles of nearly every book on your list (plus some double diamond's as well) though barely any of them are in "NEW" condition. |

quajack,
Double Diamond ones? Lets talk. I'm looking for the last three: Uneasy Alliances, Easy Betrayals and The Diamond. Maybe we can come to some mutally beneficial trade or offer. Anything in particular you are looking for? Please PM me to let me know.

I've just finished reading Fistandantilus Reborn and I thought it was alright. Wish I could get Tymoras luck though [:S]. I'd say it's worth reading just for completeness |

If you like the hilariousenss of Finder´s Bane, Tymora´s Luck will be golden for you. I mean, just imagine that hodgepodge adventuring party, add the Kender and throw in a bunch of Gods and their machinations...then you get the idea. I absolutely loved it. |

I bought The Simbul's Gift and The Seven Sisters sourcebook from Amazon.com (retailers) and they were in great condition. Check Amazon.com before Ebay.com anyday. |

I just skimmed the list, but it struck me as sad that a whole bunch of great books aren't available to new readers anymore, best example: I; Strahd, a book I thoroughly enjoyed, especially with expedition to Castle Ravenloft now out there there could be a whole generation of gamers be drawn back into the demiplane of dread |

I'm not so sure. I was quite excited when I first heard of the rerelease of these novels as they are amazing reads. But havint seen them in the flesh, so to speak, they are quite a let down. The covers are unfitting with the novels, the text is too large and the series just gives makes me feel it's lacking of visual quality. This could have been made into something really special but it's just fallen short for me and i've decided not to get them in, sadly (as much I want to support the RL product line).
Also, there doesn't appear to have been any logical order to the release of these books. Why on earth Death of the Darklord was released and Heart of Midnight disregarded is beyond me and quite silly, IMHO. |

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the author of Death of the Darklord is Laurell K. Hamilton, the mega-bestselling author of the Anita Blake (former) vampire slayer series? |

*sigh* It look terribly like I'm SOL. I have major gaps in my FR collection, and seeing as how everything's out of print, it looks kinda like it's going to stay that way. Grr. At least I got the Counselors and Kings Trilogy a while back, and it was even NEW! (New books, *WOW*, that's a strange concept to me!) |

I have all 20 of the Ravenloft books but I only read the first two of them. I always find myself lost within the Forgotten Realms, but there are times that I'm in the mood for something dark and I pick up a Ravenloft novel. I sure hope having reprints done is a good sign that WOTC is going to continue making more of those books. Christie Golden has written some of the best storys in the Anthologys, I sure wish they can get her to do a FR Trilogy for us. |

Not to sound ignorant or anything, but what is Ravenloft? I haven't gotten around to haunting the bookstores for it. |

It's the campaign setting that was expanded from Tracy Hickman's module. Basically it's a gothic horror D&D setting. White Wolf updated it for 3/3.5e until the license returned to WOTC and then they put out Castle Strahd a few months ago. |
For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird
