FWIW, I also have a few copies of the Ravenloft anthology available. |

Quick note to the folks who have requested copies of the FR anthologies:
This has been a fairly hideous week, and I haven't gotten to the post office, but I'll box up stuff over the weekend and get back to the European folk with a postage quote.
I have only three or four copies of the Floodgate, and those have been spoken for. In the good news department, I found another copy of Thornhold. |

Heh, it depends on who you ask. Some people hate certain books/trilogies, while others love them.
Myself, I've not read The Glass Prison. I have read Once Around The Realms and The Shadow Stone, but it's been many years since I read them. I don't recall having any particular dislike for those novels, but I didn't think they were particularly noteworthy, either.
Others are certain to disagree with me, though, especially if they've read the books more recently than I. |

enjoyed Once Around The Realms (it's a parody book with Volo and the "around the world in 80 days theme) and The Glass Prison (wish that one would have caught on (about a half-demon, drizzt-ish but enjoyable)
didn't like The Shadow Stone

As Wooly said tastes differ, but you asked for opinions so here's mine. Remember that this is purely subjective.
The Glass prison I have not read.
Once around the Realms is (in my opinion) a rather bad attempt at a realms comedy that isn't the least funny and tries to blend jokes from TV shows with the realms.
The Shadow Stone is better, my problem with that one is that it does not feel like the realms to me. The book was originally intended for Birthright I believe.
But as I said, different people like different things. You might like them even if I did not. |

It was, however it birthed the concept of the Shadow Weave. |
For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

I know that it was first written for Birghtright, it's why I ask.

Well met
I'd certainly recommend The Glass Prison, Skeptic. I found the novel quite well done and enjoyable |

Fistandantilus Reborn is worth getting if you have the rest simply to complete the lost gods set.
It's not a bad book, though not brilliant, and I will feel much happier when i get to read Tymora's Luck knowing a little about Emillo |

I couldn't agree more that was well done as was a few of the Harper Series. |
When hinges creak in doorless chambers and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls, whenever candlelights flicker where the air is deathly still, that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight. |

I have pretty much read all of these novels except for the Double Diamond books. How are they? What are they about? |

The Double Diamond books were 9 short novels (less than 100 pages each) written by different authors with cover prices of $2.99 (except the first which was $1.99).
This storyline takes place primarily in the the Utter East and Waterdeep. The series is very paladine-heavy (Tyr, if I remember correctly) and includes one of Faerun's most notorious bad-guys as a main character.
Overall, this is a spectacular 9-ology of books with tremendous names such as Ed Greenwood and Dave Gross at the helm of this project. If you are lucky enough to read these tomes without having heard any spoilers beforehand, you're in for quite a treat.
The #1 gripe about the Double Diamond Saga is the price of these (I'm guessing quite rare) OOP novels. I purchased the set used on ebay for about $60. I am happy with the purchase and have no regrets.
These tomes offer a great (not just good, great) read, but are inconsequential to the overall "flow" of the realms. If you can afford them, I would highly recommend the DD Saga. If not, don't worry. You'll be fine without them. |

Alibris.com is a good online store for getting used and out of print books. Used it quite heavily to completely my conan collection. |

Hm, on my last trip to Vancouver Island I found some used books in Nanaimo, so it can't be that difficult to find at least some of the books in second hand bookshops somewhere else in Canada .
I've got some OOP books twice, so PM me if you're interested. Austria is a long way from the States or Canada, but if you're really desperate... |

Almost...Almost...But not quite that desperate. Eh, maybe later. My philosophy: Haunt used bookstores until the owners are so sick of seeing your face they call the police due to "Deranged Book-Seeking Harassers". My collection has improved remarkably...And I've only had to be bailed out of jail twice! |

If only I knew of more used book stores around here. :-/ |
