True true. If I remember correctly, he rolled high enough for a couple of critical hits against an undead...and being that way he didn't get the critical hits. The creature was a Banedead(Sp?). Long drawn out fight that ended with an Ankheg eating the thing... (That was the DM's idea...). Besides, he was just giving us a sample of how the battles worked.

"What's that," asked Mogget.
"Sardines," said Sam. "I knew they were standard rations, so I got a few tins for you."
"What are sardines?" Moggest asked suspiciously. "And why is there a key? Is this some sort of Abhorsen joke?"

Maybe I should of tried to handle the Ankeg. Then I'd would of had something to laugh at you about. I'd have a monster and you wouldn't, but I most likely would've been knocked out worst than the other dwarf was by that crazy mother when you attacked her son. But her son was a Doppleganger so you kinda had a right to do that since the Duke sent us to do that very task.

May Melkor smile upon every spell you cast.

^_^; It wasn't my fault really...her son was a doppleganger!!! I tried to tell her...but then she pretty much just started beating me down.... But luckily she didn't take HP away. Of course...the insane dwarf used his last conscious act to fall on the woman that was trying to beat me.... Lol.

(Just a note: I think we're getting a little off topic...we're supposed to be talking about rituals....)

Speaking of rituals, I might just ask if I can have my character do this little ritual thing before she drinks wine or something...I'll have to talk to Enialis....

I do hope for u, rpg is so great!

That sounds exactly like when I was living in Lake Tahoe, Eilinel. My group that I play with now was founded there, but I was playing with two other groups at the time as well, which I met from putting up a flyer in the local game store. I was mainly playing music for a living back then, so I had A LOT of extra free time which enabled me to do that. These days, the time just isn't there anymore.
The only decent gaming store here in Sac has weekly games with GM's/players that are more to my liking, I just have to wait until a spot opens up in one of them.
And thanks for the kind thoughts. Maybe they'll help me get a spot in one of those games now!

To get back on topic, I just thought of another ritual that my friend and I do as GM's for the group. Whenever we GM, we create a soundtrack to enhance the story/game, so we always make copies of it to give to the players at the end of the game. We create the cover and disc art too. We now all have (so far) 4 CD's of music that was made specifically for the games we've played in.

I think we don't need alcohol to play RPG but the last time, i was so close to death that the beers i drank before throwing the dice were very very very very good!!! (i had to roll more than a 17 or die... Gasp, imagine just few seconds!)
Since, the dice i rolled is protected by all the spells in the world, because yes i rolled it! the other players were waiting me for five minutes during which i ran everywher i could.

I like to take with me my box of dices, which is almost 160 years old, crafted in wood with an old map of the world on it.
How looks urs? I know that gamers like to have beautiful boxes, pockets...

Well the party was 4th level and they beat all the skeletons. Not being in my right mind, I then said WRAITHS rose out of the skeleton.

SHUT UP YOU DRUNK! THey said. And I said Roll your dice you drunks!!!
And then they died. But In the morning I said it never happened anyway.

Well our latest addiction is root beer!! we'll drink no end of the stuff to wash down the numerous bags of mini poppadoms with mango chutney

This all wraps around our big food break part way through the game of a curry or chinese take-away

Mmmmmmm............Root Beer!!

I would say that Rad is slightly more addicted to the stuff than others. I manage to pace myself, but Rad seems to get only halfway down his glass when he has to top it up with more beer, or should I say makes others go and top up his glass

As for the mini poppadoms, alas they are no more.

Years ago it was always the case that we had to stop at a predetermined time, wake up our cleric who has fallen alseep on the couch, and order either 2 things.....Pizza or Chinese.

These days we are more sophisticated.......Curry & Chinese are the order of business

Corona is so HIDEOUS!!! Americans drink it alot and think they drink imported beer. No they are drinking Chihuahua Urine!!! Any beer you have to drink with a lemon (that is not brewed IN the beer) is a fake beer.

Rad, Strahd you guys ORDER pizza? I had something vaguely resembling Pizza in the UK...

It was orange, (CHEDDAR CHEESE? On PIZZA!!!), had a weird sauce, and the toppings were like a salad. Now the food in the united states may be bad but one thing we do well is BAD FOOD. Pizza here is incredible, it EVEN rivals Italy. Siena and Firenze have us beat in Italian food, but if you cannot get to Italy for Italian food, New York is a CLOSE second. I see why you switched to Curry... I love curry. But you guys are really Pizza deprived!

zemd, you obviously haven't had the pleasure of drinking Lucky Lager. It's made by a chain of supermarkets here in the states called Lucky, and it has to be the most hideous brew I have ever tasted. They actually put rebus (pictograph) puzzles on the inside of the bottle caps, I guess in an effort to take your mind off of how bad it was. It was pretty cheap though (around $5 a 12er) and it definitely got you buzzed, but OMG it was vile!

Well, at last I find someone who agrees with me! Cheese on a pizza should NEVER be chedder.

Though I do disagree in the sense that the average American pizza rivals that of Italy's . . . the average is a poor imitation. Even the so-called "Italian" pizzarias don't usually come up to par on them.

There are a few exceptions, though. There's a place a few miles from my house, called Dominic's, that makes a thin-crust that's pretty authentic (they used to have a chef from Napoli, but he retired).

Then there's the Pizza Villa near my college's campus -- that one's good. Surprising for a mall's food court.

And 3 Brothers' Resturaunt upstairs from that one -- that's the one I go to a lot. It's a good balance between price and taste. They seem to rotate the cooks, as the slices can be okay or really well done. (I had one there that was perfect though -- felt like Italy again!)

I also make my own. It's not really that hard (this from someone that is normally dangerous with food that doesn't have step-by-step directions), even though I don't have an oven that's made for this stuff. I usually make a thick crust (making it thicker actually compensates for the oven), with spices baked right in. Smells good, tastes better.

Unfortunately, my mother recently developed an allergy to gluten -- which is in wheat. Which is in pizza. (Or nearly any Italian food.) So it's a bit cruel for me to make that with her in the house.

Okay, enough pizza talk, I guess.

ts ts, well done... the problem with US is that they always put a origin on their products, like italian pizzas -even if they are made in US-, French bread -same thing- and so on... Thus u cannot know anything about the product itself... if one day, u taste French bread or italian pizzas ull see the difference, and u know what? France is the biggest producer of pizzas in Europe...

US is really and definitively a strange country

Depending on what game I am playing in. I drink three diffrent things. When playing in One of Nick's Second Ed games I like to drink a lot of Mt. Dew. Its the Holy Liquid for the night over there. When Playing in one of the random games that we always toss to gether when we are all bored... I just drink Telly. Its the best you can get in the US. Unless you like to go to Scott Land and buy their things . And last. When Playing in a Third Ed game, I actually like to drink .. well ... water. But to be exact ... Juice. Yes I called it water.... no juice is 100% unless you make it yourself. Ever notice on the bottles where they say " Its 100% juice..." .... Yet on the back it states that is is more water then anything else.

Anyway those are my small drinking rituals. I have other rituals ... but ... they tend to be "I sit here, I lay here" that sorta thing. Anyway im out for now.

"Madness you say! Do you fear me? Are you afraid of what I might do, of what I might say? What a fascinating reaction. Don't you find it somewhat encumbering?"

When i say US is strange...
When i buy some juices, i buy real juices -except that its almost ten times more expensive than the regular one...-
And when we play, we buy regular juices, which come from Germany... Why? i don't know, there is no orange, ananas, grapes for juice ...
Europe is tange too
