Greetings, and welcome to Candlekeep.
For lore on the Thunder Peaks, I would recommend you see the "Thunder Peaks and Storm Horns" booklet from the Elminster's Ecologies boxed set.
Additional sources that may prove useful are the Volo's Guides to both the Dalelands and Cormyr, both The Dalelands and Cormyr sourcebooks, all editions of the FRCS (1e/2e/3e), and one of Ed's' 04 replies deals partially with what's inside the Peaks (April 3rd).

I see the Sage answered your questions, so...
Welcome to Candlekeep!
Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!
As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay! |

Are you talking about Troglodyte gods (deities)?
If so, see Serpent Kingdoms, 2e's On Hallowed Ground, and Monster Mythology.

What Sage isn't telling you is that he's also stting on a listing of fan-written troglodyte gods crafted from DM input over at planewalker.com.
Victor, if you pester him enough . . . he may just send you a copy. If you're interested.

The Thunder Peaks (which aren't the Storm Horns, though they do contain the Storm Fangs) are a very interesting range that's referred to in many sources dealing with the surrounding realms, a close reading of which is repaid. The feeble Elminster's Ecologies booklet is not a good overview. |

I don't think I can, unfortunately. It's been uploaded to the planewalker.com archives. Though if Victor is interested, he can look through the archives himself and save a copy of the listing.

The various Cormyr-related sourcebooks for example, as well as those dealing with the Dales.

I cant finde were Jergal was under the times of trouble. are there a chosen of Jargal ? he is Demi power?
History Jergal is an ancient deity, older than many of the greater gods of Faerûn. In the time of Netheril, he was a greater deity himself, with the portfolios of the Dead, Murder and Strife. With the long aeons, he became bored with his position of power, and allowed for three mortals, known as the Dead Three, to each take up parts of his divinity. Bane assumed the portfolio of Strife, Myrkul the rulership of the Dead and Bhaal the portfolio of Murder. Jergal himself faded from his great stature became a seneschal to Myrkul, a position he was allowed to remain in even after his master perished and Kelemvor assumed his place.
Ethos In ethos, Jergal is colder and more inhumane than his master, sanctioning the use and creation of undead by his followers, provided they serve the cause of advancing death in the world. He is not evil or malicious, but impassively records the death of all things. Jergal (jer-gull) is the fatalistic senschal of the Lord of the Dead who keeps records on the final disposition of all the spirits of the dead. Both bland and excessively formal, he never angers and always speaks with a disembodied, chilling voice that echos with the dry whisper of a long forsaken crypt. The Lord of the End of Everything strives only for an orderly accounting of the fate of the world as it slowly sinks into death.
"Jergal appears as a wizened, insubstantial mummy of some ancient, alien race. His skin is gray and tightly drawn across his frame. His bulbous, yellow, lifeless eyes and insectoid mandibles resemble a cross between a humanoid and a preying mantis. His ears and nose are barely distinguishable from his elongated skull. Most of his body is covered with an utterly lightless cloak that seems to absorb the very atmosphere that envelops it. His white gloves cover elongated, claw-like hands and forearms."

Powers & Pantheons says he played no part in the ToT; it's likely that since he only deals with dead folks, he escaped being chucked down with the rest of the deities. Or, if he was chucked down, he prolly found a nice quiet mausoleum to hang out in for the duration.
Jergal has next-to-nothing to do with the mortal world. I can't see him seeing a reason for having a Chosen. |
