In doing some FR work I've come across what appear to be errors in the monster write-up for mist dragons in DoF. Given the far, greater expertise of the D&D population in respect to rules as compared to me, I thought I'd post what I've noticed and see if I'm 'right' or 'wrong'.
Firstly, the listing of CRs for mist dragons by age appears to be 1 less per age category than it should be. In the listing of dragons, Orothaumyth is noted as being old (CR16), Ouranalathra is noted as being a great wyrm sorcerer 6 (CR28) and Thalagyrt is very old (CR18). On p.142, the stat references for mist dragons states that old, very old and great wyrm mist dragons have a CR of 15, 17 and 21 respectively. I'm thinking that all the CRs by age should be bumped up by 1.
Also, in the write-up of Orothaumyth, it states his CR as 18, while in the general list, he's 16. I'm thinking that this is a typo and he should be CR 16. It also gives him a speed of 60 ft. although the stats for mist dragons generally on p.143 notes that mist dragons have a speed of 40 ft. Have I missed something to account for his extra 20 ft. movement, or is this another error?
Thanks for the feedback.
