I'm curious to know how Mystra would feel about many uses of the Mages/Mordenkainen's Disjunction spell.

I can see how it would pleasing to her to destroy antimagic fields (though I don't think that it is it's main use), and the fact that it rips the magic from the items wouldn't be a problem in itself, since it just seperates it into component parts rather than destroying the magic altogether.

What I'm curious about is how she stands on the destruction(?) of the magic items through use of the spell. I mean if you take a car to bits carefully you can argue that you've not damaged any of the component parts, but a working car is so much more than the sum of it's parts
Perhaps not the best comparison but hope you get my point

Best I can sense is Mystra II would have had no problem with distruction of Evil magic items early in her achieving divinity, however there is indications she is becoming more Nuetral on the issue of Good and Evil (Something about a talk AO had with her I think guiding her to a wider world view).

I suspect it is event orientated still, her mission is too speard magic. She certainly thus would thus like to see removed items that prevent the spread of magic. As to other things it really depends on the items, she should not have much problem with distruction of Deity foe specfic items, she still might have a problem with great Evil items as well.

"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards."
"Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding.
"After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first."

My take on it is that Mystra (whether I, II, or III) does not micro-manage the use of magic - she is concerned with the state of the Weave as a whole. The Mage's Disjunction does not harm the weave, it just breaks items or spells down "into their individual components". I'd say this means that the Weave itself remains unharmed, and that Mystra therefore does not really care.

It's true that Mystra is concerned with the promotion of magic, but that would include taking maintaining the Balance in the For... Weave. And with so many spellwielders running around, ranging from the deranged to the raving lunatics , there has to be a means to curb some of the excesses in the use of magic, in order to avoid a general backlash of everybody against spellwielders. Hence dispel magic and its big brother Mage's Disjunction. Like all things in life, these spells can be used for purposes that Mystra might regret, but that's the balance for you.
