In the LEoF under the Realms of the High Forest section, while describing Delzoun, it is mentioned breifly that the shield dwarf kingdom once encompassed areas of the Rauvin Mountains.

Does anyone know if this is detailed elsewhere?

Yes. In several 3e sources -- including the FRCS.

As well, notable 2e sources featuring lore on the North -- like for example City of Splendors and Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark -- also mention it.
