Surprisingly I managed to pick this up on Saturday.... and im in the UK!!! I also got Races of Faerun but ill talk about this in another topic.

The Arms and Equipment Guide is VERY good! I loved the old second edition book of the same name but this one is much better. As to be expected, there are many very well drawn pictures of the gear and ample descriptions and stats. IMO, an essential product.

I couldnt possibly ruin the additional surprises for you, zemd Just to say that theres PLENTY of material for any campaign and that this book is probably the core D&D book that ive looked forward to the most for a long time....and it doesnt disappoint..... but I AM a lover of equipment

Thanks, I will probably buy it to help with my campaign because I am an equipment nut as well.

Ooo, those blasted Americans! They engineered the transatlantic mail delay just to frustrate French DMs . . . .

totaly off topic...

Neah, the book is only released in the countries going to war... they need the contents to fight a petty little tyrant in his realm...

on topic...

A book like this comes in handy and adds more flaavor to the game, but I wouldn't rank it as a 'must have' on my list. Now if the title said Forgotten Realms Arms and Equipment guide...

I bought it two days ago.
It's true that it adds more choice, but i don't know if i'll be able to use it. You see, i can hardly handle all the info i already have gathered in all my books, so i can't imagine with MORE objects.
IMO the gear section is more for the player than for the DM. The latter will use it for special NPC

I particularly like the mercenaries section. I was very disapointed by Mercenaries released by AEG. With Amrs and Equipment Guide and Stronghold builder's Guidebook, we can now handle a war situation (it's just what i need, my player want to build an army to attack the Elven Court and there build a new Myth Drannor)

Ive mentioned this on previous topics but just wondered what everyone thought to this manual? Im quite impressed and used it often, not just for gaming but its also an enjoyable book to keep flicking though (im a mundane equipment junkie! , but I since picked up the Ultimate Equipment Guide by Moongoose Publishing and im very impressed by the amount of equipment and items they have in there. Theres so much variety and every single item has a description and a picture! Even the humble candle! Theres also a nice section on herbs which got me interested for my Ranger and Druid characters.

My deep loyalty towards official D&D will always remain though Ill never be converted, I tell you!! ::grits teeth::

I personally found the Arms & Equipment Guide to be useful and a nice addition to my game materials. Not something you REALLY need, but if you can add it in, I think it would be a nice addition to anyone's collection, not only mine.

I especielly liked the vehicle section. I jsut have to get the seafarer's handbook and see which system I like better.

I'm actually using this section. I never read the Seafarer's handbook, but it should provide a little bit more info. Arms and equipment guide only gives us the stats of the boats, not the way the can be used in battle,...

I have the book now and i am impressed by it. it has many things that i had not thought of but i would suggest for a DM to help fill treasure chests.

One nice thing about this supplement: The integrated treasure tables. See, not only are there random treasure generation tables that include both DMG and Arms and Equipment Guide stuff, but they also included Magic of Faerun in the tables. Makes using them a lot easier.
