Because of the way the schedule order worked out, there's a significant spoiler for Book 3 of the Last Mythal trilogy in the sidebar on page 28 of Power of Faerun.
Be forewarned for those of you who don't like spoilers.

the title of this thread is misleading... it sounds like you are going to discuss the spoiler and so i think that makes many sages not want to read the thread which actually warns them against accidentally being spoiled in Power of Faerun. |

Hello-
Aye - I agree - was slightly misleading. As it happens - I had already skipped the thread - AND backed out of the forum category - when my eyes realized that 'ericlboyd' was the author. Since his is so high up in my list of esteemed Realms-lore personages - and I was sure m- not the author of said book - I checked it out!
Thanks for the haeds up - I've not read ANY of theose books - but am hungrilly awaiting PoF at work!
Thanks!

I am collecting the D&D Minis. I would be more than willing to trade with people. You can send me a PM here with your email listed - and I can send you my minis list. Thanks!
Successfully traded with Xysma! |

Oh great.
Thank you for letting us know. Watch me end up reading it by accident. |

Just a wild guess...but maybe the elves succeed in reclaiming Myth Drannor/Cormanthor ... at least from the evil guys... they might still have to deal with the Drow (sequel potential?) A major elven presence in Myth Drannor could be considered a Power... just my two cents |

Thank you for providing information about this spoiler. For what it's worth, I don't think reading that spoiler will diminish in any way the last novel in Richard Baker's trilogy. |

I *did* read it by accident, or at least the last sentence of it (started the next section a bit too high). Is that last sentence the only spoiler, or are there more in the paragraph? |
Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be... Sigh... And now 4e as well. |

gah! urge to look is overcoming me! i don't know if i can wait until june. i will hate myself if i look. this is what i get for starting a trilogy before all the books are out. PoF came out the 14th? is it silly for me to ask if it's a realms event spoiler(probably) or is it a character spoiler or both? eh, don't answer me.......unless you want to. |

Overall more an events spoiler although details at the end focus on a spoiler for a character. |

This is a HUGE spoiler! Although I normally don't read spoilers, for some reason, I read this one and wish that I hadn't. I must disagree with Sirius' comment about the spoiler not putting a bit of a damper on Mr. Baker's forthcoming installment. As Mr. Baker is an excellent author, I believe that reading through his novel and gradually watching events unfold would have been a much more satisfying and enjoyable way to learn this new gem of canon. Crap! I wish I hadn't read it! |
My hopes are ashes, my dreams are dust. All my intentions mean nothing unless they are followed by action. |

--- Some spoilers below, but not the HUGE one ---
Hmm, for me a HUGE spoiler include surprise, and this one never surprised me. When Bruenor killed in one blow the most powerfull drow priestress, I was surprised!
It would be like saying that learning "officialy" the identity of Jarlaxle was a HUGE spoiler.. Or saying that the death of Shandril was a surprise at the end of Hand of Fire...
If some agues that they didn't see this p.28 spoiler coming while reading the firsts books well... hint : I guess they never looked at the Roll of years.

I'm curious; would anyone be willing to tell me the spoiler? (Using the [ beige ] [/ beige ] tag. Without the spaces, of course.) |

I am curious about that, too. Could any scribe sent me a private message about that p.28 spoiler? Because in my country, we must wait for several months to get PoF. |

I don't see it as a huge spoiler. It was one of the possible outcomes I saw while reading the other books... In fact, judging by the commotion, I was expecting pretty much the opposite thing to happen. |

well, I read the spoiler today, and I must say that I agree with Wooly on this one. It is indeed a spoiler to the outcome of the series, however many questions remain unanswered and I'm sure that it wouldn't ruin the reading experience of Final Gate. In fact, after reading the spoiler, my head flooded with a million questions that I hadn't thought of before. So is it a spoiler- yes. Will it ruin the Final Gate for you-no, I don't think so. Fans of the series I'm sure are involved with the characters enough that this tid-bit of the aftermath of the crusade won't ruin a thing. |

Replied to. |
These, in the day when heaven was falling, The hour when earth's foundations fled, Followed their mercenary calling And took their wages and are dead.
Their shoulders held the sky suspended; They stood, and earth's foundations stay; What God abandoned, these defended, And saved the sum of things for pay. |
