Hi. :) As the subject says I'm looking for FR novels that are similar to the Icewind Dale series of novels. Now I know I could look to more of RAS novels but I'm really looking more for the flow and style of the Icewind Dale trilogy most of all. I found them to be fast paced, action packed, with interesting dialogue. Each novel could work as stand alones I felt and somewhat epic endings to each. These are the type of things I'm looking for.
Or is it Drizzt that makes these novels feel the way they do?
Anyway if anyone can recommend any novels that are similar that would be great. Thanks.
The Erevis Cale trilogy by Paul Kemp has some of the same feel, as well as the finders stone trilogy by Kate Novak and Jeff Grubb. Additionally, anything by Elaine Cunningham should be along the lines of what you are looking for.
I've read 2/3 of the release 'Fighters' series of books - and wholeheartedly recomend both of them for their action, as well as their intelligence. Both are more than purely a 'hack & slash' reading adventure.
I am currently reading Master of Chains - ironically the first released 'Fighters' book - and am also enjoying that book as well. As a matter of fact - I have had instances of more emotion while reading this one than the other two - but mainly because I had such strong negative feelings towards a couple of the 'bad guys'
Basically - all three books are recomended. :)

I am collecting the D&D Minis. I would be more than willing to trade with people. You can send me a PM here with your email listed - and I can send you my minis list. Thanks!

I agree, the icewind dale trilogy is a great trilogy. I also liked the dark elf trilogy before Drizzt left the underdark. So if you really like Drizzt I recommend that trilogy.
If you are looking tosee what other authors have to offer. I agree with scererar, The Cale trilogy is great. Also the Finder's stone trilogy is probally my favorite FR trilogy. Elaine Cunningham's Songs and swords series is great as well. I feel all of the trilogies I have listed are what you are looking for.
I would suggest Son of Thunder by Murray Leeder. It offers an intriguing take (from everything I've heard since I have yet to receive my copy [sorry Murray ) on the barbarian type of the northern Realms.
