Not a problem, I would hate for you to miss a chance to appreciate my favorite realms author! I have sent his books to friends as far as Brazil. All I ask in return is that you discuss them here with us! (and maybe give him a review on amazon.com) When I checked, apparently Depths of Madness is so wildly popular it will be a little over a week until it ships, so I am having Ghostwalker sent to you immediately. It is my favorite realms novel and not to be missed!
Back to the topic, The Greater Treasure does give nice insight into the character of Fox at Twilight and will only increase your enjoyment of Depths of Madness.
Here is a link to a short story that is a companion piece to Depths, Erik wrote it so you can read it before or after the novel and not spoil anything either way!
That Time of the Tenday
Also there is a companion piece to Ghostwalker entitled Wayfarer, but It seems my link I had for it no longer works. Perhaps another scribe has it's location or archived it?
Mod edit: Fixed the link for the short story. |

A little quebecian sidenote : there are a few Smiths Bookshops in Montreal, included one with a a caféon the second floor near the YMCA building. In Quebec City, you can find almost every Forgotten realms books (and a lot of other english written books) at cheap price at L'Imaginaire and last year there were at least two english bookshops (one in Sainte Foy, one in Quebec downtown). L'Imaginaire is generally up to date with the U.S publishing dates.
I guess that you live in Sherbrooke, the last english bookseller closed 3 years ago
I hope that these few lines will be helpfull :) |

You don't need a credit card to do eBay. Many sellers accept checks or money orders. PayPal is also quite popular, and can be linked to a bank account instead of a credit card. |

I read it, and I love it. Fox-at-Twilight seems like a female elvish version of Jack Sparrow (but she's a lot sexier than Johnny Depp will ever be. ;) The Cult of Graz'zt was well-handled, and the act of betrayal was both surprising and very well-done.
BTW, this may be a useless question, but have game stats for Fox been posted anywhere? I get the idea that she's a rogue, shadowdancer, and divine seeker.
And has any reason been given for why she seemingly never enters Reverie? I remember that from both Depths of Madness as well as this story, but I can't remember a reason ever being given. |

Yes, Red Walker do this, concerning Erik books. A darned good fan, someone could say... and a good friend, too. Don´t pay attention to his spooky "ghostwalker" clothes and behaviour. He´s a good scribe.
Myself, I find The Greater Treasure very amusing in many ways: I always arrange a way to put Grazzt in the middle of my campaigns (this start when I buy that good module, For Duty and Deity); and I, too, have used "the great treasure" in one campaign - now, I´m just thinking in how to put Fox-at-Twilight in my campaigns...

There's nothing official. Though Erik, a couple of months ago, provided an interpretation of Twilight on his blog:-
"Fox-at-Twilight is roughly: CN moon elf female rogue 3 / swashbuckler 2 / uncanny trickster* 3 / shadowdancer 4 / divine seeker 4
* This being from Complete Scoundrel. Her 2 class features increases are in Swashbuckler and Shadowdancer."

I don't know about that . . . but I'm glad you think so!
quote: BTW, this may be a useless question, but have game stats for Fox been posted anywhere? I get the idea that she's a rogue, shadowdancer, and divine seeker.
Not that I know of, though there has been some movement on that front. We'll see.
And I think of her this way: rogue 3/swashbuckler 2/uncanny trickster 3*/shadowdancer 4/divine seeker 4
* The two class features increases apply to swashbuckler and shadowdancer respectively.
quote: And has any reason been given for why she seemingly never enters Reverie? I remember that from both Depths of Madness as well as this story, but I can't remember a reason ever being given.
Good question! And no--the answer is no.
No reason has ever been explicitly stated . . . but it probably has something to do with being in touch/out of touch with her elven heritage. She can manage Reverie sometimes, but not all the time.
Sage? Theories?
And yes, Sage has the right of it with her basic 3.5 level/build. Who knows what she'd be in 4e (assuming she's still around)? We'd have to know more about the system.

Chosen, Ooh! Excellent.
Did you see my stats for Yldar and Cythara in my Chamber of the Sages thread (or perhaps earlier in this Book Club thread)? Anyway, Yldar's basically a 2e elf fighter/mage/thief (so fighter/wizard/rogue levels, use eldritch knight as appropriate). Cythara's a wizard or sorceress (whichever you like more) multiclassed into Thrall of Graz'zt (Book of Vile Darkness). Use whatever level you deem best for your game.
Canonically speaking (as in, the way I would do it--ding!), I'd make the others (at the time of the story):
Yldar fighter 1 / rogue 2 / wizard 3 / eldritch knight 4 (10th level overall)
Cythara wizard 11 / thrall of graz'zt 1 (12th level overall)
Feel free to bump up levels as you see fit . . . if you're taking them beyond the story, go ahead and make them whatever works out best for your campaign. Yldar's out looking for Cythara, and Cythara's gaining more EVIL power.
Note that Yldar would have mostly feats appropriate to a bladesinger (like dodge, combat expertise, combat casting, etc.), though it's specifically stated that he's NOT a bladesinger. At least not yet. Who knows what his future might hold?
quote: Chosen of Moradin, almost seeing the face of Erik, writing an tale about the "Realms Charlie Angels": Kiryanni, Liriel and Fox-at-Twilight.
Wow. Just, wow. That would be so awesome.
Elminster's voice: "Good morning, angels."
All: "Good morning, Ellie!"

Heh, as a straight woman I have to say I still find Johnny Depp sexier. |
