I don't mean to rain on your parade but Chult is quite dull if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not slamming the TSR writers and authors that dreamt up its history and details, it's just that a jungle setting to me is something of a fantasy killer. You have to make a real effort to not slip into Tarzan or Indiana Jones vibes. The PCs are usually the first to run with these.

Actually, a little bit of Indiana Jones or Tarzan wouldn't be such a bad thing, so long as you don't let it get away from you. Heck, how many times when you describe a trap in an ancient ruin don't you think about one of the Indiana Jones movies? In a way it kind of helps you to visualize something you aren't likely to have encountered in real life. Call it mental shorthand.

True - and I think Chult is neat because of the major Serpent feeling. That's like a whole alien race that's trying to enslave the people down there subtley and openly and few cities fighting back. Neat power struggles down there.

precisely. And because most players dont know much about the place, it gives me plenty of room to bring in some need surprises and different adventures...

I got my hands on a bundle of old Dark Sun material the other day, and I made an interesting Discovery. In "The Ivory Triangle" boxed set there is a description of the city state of Gulg, a jungle/forest city, that would be a perfect outline for a Chult city or village. Also, I've always felt that Dark Suns feral halflings was one of the settings more interesting creatures. They would fit right into Cthulu as well.

Uluu Thalongh (the Chultan legend presented in the 3e FRCS) could be a good counter for Lalali-Puy, the forest spirit of Gulg.

Got lots of new ideas for the adventure to Chult. But if any of you have some scattered ideas, please throw them at me.

Well, you could always have a major (but subtle) serpentfolk war going on. The Sarukh are having some major civil war type issues at the time, and a lot of them center on this area. You could have slayings of poor adventurers who just stumbled upon this way.

Sounds like a good idea... Getting the group trapped between warring nations sounds like fun... Ill try it. Thanks.
