I have a 8th level player who has a solo quest for the Church of Tymora to go on. He is a Human Male Rogue 4 Fighter 2 Invisible Blade 2 based out of Sembia. In the Fellaren-Krae area to be specific.

My problem, is that I seem to have gone completely brain dead on a topic for this quest. It has been a month, and nothing I have thought of seemed appropriate.

A little background on character and situation:
The character is a slightly amoral (CG) coward (craven) rogue, who is trying to build up a political career. He and another player, a mage, were slain by an evil NPC party that was driven off by the rest of the party and later defeated.
The mage had a boon owed to him by the temple, for past donations, and is considered to have been given that boon when raised. The rogue, how ever, did not have any such boon, and they laid upon his soul a condition of being raised that he perform for them a service.

Now this rogue is primarily focused around interpersonal communication, high bluff, sense motive, diplomacy and the like. And I would like to come up with something that uses his strengths and avoids his weaknesses. I don’t want him to die again on this quest, it is a way for him to catch back up on the lost xp, not make him lose more.

That, my fellow scribes, is my predicament.
Any suggestions?

How about tasking him with exposing a clandestine slave-ring, made up of minor houses in Yhaunn and one or two Zhentil Keep caravan masters, breaking into their hidden Sembian camp and setting as many slaves as possible free.

I'd say that doing that alone would be reckless, er I mean bold, enough to please Tymora, and he could quite possibly get the group one or two recurring villains to fight in the process

There is a rumour going around that I have found god. I think is unlikely because I have enough difficulty finding my keys, and there is empirical evidence that they exist.

The exposing of the slave ring is doable...thanks!
Any other ideas?

If he's an interpersonal type, you could, instead of having him break into the slave camp, bluff his way and somehow convince the slavers to release the slaves...

Or you could have him be sent someplace, posing as a noble, to do some form of diplomatic leaning on someone. To keep with the slave ring idea, he could have to work his way to the inside of the inner ring of the leaders, and then expose/destroy them from within...

He is definitely a people person. His stated goal for his character is to become a politician. I'll have to look into writing up a couple of drafts for this....

Any thoughts other than slaves?
