Heh! Next time that the mephits run wild, put them all in chains and send the fire ones to my forges (and the steams to my bath room)!!!

Chosen of Moradin, axe for hire and local smith.

That might actually work.

I know of one DM whose taken the approach to "technology" in a fantasy setting similar to that portrayed in 'The Flintstones'. Although, the water mephits don't end up turning around to the players and saying "It's a living..."

The Mephits run wild again!

The jetdatabase problem show his ugly face just when I was looking at the newest active topics 1 hour ago (and now I lost more than half of the scrolls that I was reading)

Indeed, I just noticed.

I will say however, that I may be able to assist Alaundo in guarding against future mephits incursions very soon... .

Itīs good to hear this, Sage!

Put some wards in the core rooms, and employ a mercenary band of Fire-breathing Phase Doppleganger Giant Space Hamsters!

I think that this will finish the problem!

Yes, I may soon have the ability to ensure a greater degree of protection here at Candlekeep, provided Alaundo agrees... .

Well met

Hmmmmm, interesting. To my knowledge, this has not occured for a number of weeks. I have yet to experience this problem myself today but will certainly endeavor to combat the issue. Let me know if thou art ready to discuss this further, Sage.

Again, apologies for the inconvenience.

I was getting it too, but only when I left the "Active Topics" screen up (I have it set to refresh every 2 minutes) or the "Active Users" screen (set to refresh over minute).

Given the fact that I've now had an opportunity to fully test this new program myself, I think I'll leave incorporating it into the Candlekeep system until we've settled our "current" private discussion Alaundo .

Fair enough, Sage. I am merely curious as to the origins of the error, it certainly seems OS related rather than the database itself. I believe the message to be a red herring.

Thank ye, Sirius. I'll check the logs to see if there was anything untoward at the time or any vast simultaneous downloads. Hope this wasn't too much of an irritation for ye.

Unfortunately, I've had to empty my PM account several times this week, so I may have inadvertently also deleted your messages.

Can you send them again?

A red herring, yes.

I was mainly referring to the program for the database problem though... .

Well met

Apologies for those who were inconvenienced today. The forum was inactive between 17:15 and 21:00. This is the first time I have encountered this myself within the past month, believing that the issue had been resolved. Alas, this is obviously not the case and I will endeavor to get to the bottom of this.

Again, many apologies for the lengthy outage.

This is strange... as I didn't have a problem with the site until well after 19:00.

Big Al, I'm still working on getting you a copy of what we were talking about earlier. It's taking longer than I expected mainly because the system itself is still largely in the "beta-testing" phase.

As I've told you, I've tried a copy at home on my own network without many problems, but it has slowed the main access to the database down by over 15%. Both myself and the other guys working on the program believe there is still a few errors that need to be smoothed out. Afterall, we wouldn't want the same problem of slowness to also affect the Candlekeep database now... would we?

Strager as well I had problems with site far longer, though there was a short period of time that the site worked and two posts appeared.

Yeah, it was down for me for a few hours in the afternoon, then came up again for a couple hours. It went down again, and then was back after an hour or two. But there was very little activity on the forums, which suggests that other people were having problems, too.

Actually it was a different error message, did not record it though. I am getting used to minor interuptions.
