Honestly, I've barely flipped thru the book... In fact, last night, after my girlfriend left, I flopped down on my bed to flip thru the book. I fell asleep, instead. |

Ah, you fell victim to the cushy pillow, 'tis a mighty wapon indeed Just be lucky you weren't subjected to the comfy chair as well - and unless we get a detailed review soon you will. [menacing laugh] |

So far, that's all I've looked at. I've not even flipped thru the book yet. I was just scanning the table of contents, and I had to see what "Bastard of Azoun" was...
My mouth is watering. |

I was just in my "reading room" flipping thru the book some more... I stopped to read about a couple of the "Agents of Good". These are ready-made NPCs with full write-ups. There's several of them, and it's diverse. I saw a dwarf, a gnome, some humans, an ogre dire werebear ranger, a good-aligned werewolf, a centaur, a giant eagle... Niftiness, thinks I!
Oh, and there's new Initiate feats, new spells, and -- gasp! -- only four (yes, four!) PrCs.
I didn't see celestial paragons.

Oh, and there's a notable artistic mistake. The write-up for Dornavver clearly states, more than once, that it's a sword. But the associated pic is a nifty-looking warhammer.
On the topic of magical items, though I've not read it yet, I did notice a listing for Dukar Hand Coral. |

So, which new deities get Initiate feats?

Anhur, Arvoreen, Baravar Cloakshadow, Eilistraee, the Holy Realm (several faiths possible for this one: Chauntea, Helm, Lathander, Selūne, Sune), Horus-Re, Milil, Nobanion, Torm, and Tymora.
And remember, they tried the rack first, but they only had a dishrack handy, so it didn't work. |

So still no love for Sune on her own, bit strange considering her portfolio.

I skimmed through it at the convention today...when I got to the npc's in the back I recieved a nice shock. Besides sharing the same name & devilish good looks, I am in no way related to the ranger werebear...err best to my knowledge...

Neato .
Any new breeds mentioned, or are they merely detailing the few we've learned about previously?

As to a Table of Contents, that is way way more than I want to type, about 120 or so listings.
However a very very very brief:
Introduction
Chapter 1: The Valorous Hero
Chapter 2: Character Options Regional Backgrounds Feats Substitution Levels Spells Magic Items
Chapter 3: Valorous Organizations
Chpater 4: Prestige Classes Knight of the Flying Hunt Knight of the Weave Moonsea Skysentinel Triadic Knight
Chapter 5: Places of Valor Cave of Brother Luiman Chapel of Resounding Justice Cullrin Fields Darkmaiden's Leap Planar Touchstones Mholor Durinhal Teumyshaaril The Weeping Garden
Chapter 6: Agents of Good NPCS Bakra Hispul Brenvol Whitebrow Breyarg Stonebreaker Dalthyria Dorgafal Shiverock Kerri Talindras Ramas-Teth Ankh Rindon Wastho Sarade Gedreghost Stormwing
Monsters Battle Effigy Equines
I haven't had a chance to read this yet though. |

That's the same reason I've not typed it up... Besides which, my typing skills are not great. Typing up that contents list would take me a lot of time, and that's time I could actually be reading! I'm not trying to tease anyone, I'm just not wanting to torture myself by typing all that stuff.
I've only read part of it, thus far. I read about a couple of the magic items, all of those NPCs, the horses, and about the place that's sacred to Eilistraee. |

I think they probably should have saved the horse breeds for the web enhancements and had a complete list of Paladin Deity Substitutions.
I'm sorry, a bunch of different stats that are already hell on earth to advance as creatures (Advancing animals for Paladins, Druids, and Rangers is a math nightmare) are secondary to what's on the character sheets of your PCs. If you're going to put in a bunch of crunchy stuff, do it in the order that the players will require it. |

Hi Msatran,
They only use 4 pages for all the horses breed. And you have 17 pages of substitution levels to fine-tune your Paladin/Monk/etc. according to her faith. So you'll be happy

No offense, but you should wait until you know the full contents of a book before you complain about them. |

The Equines are great! And this is very important knowledge, if you think about it.
Mounts are very important to paladins or any character whose conception involves a mount. This is of tremendous practical value. (Good crunch!)
And there is so much valuable lore tied up in the breeding of horses, their history and the values of the cultures that breed them. (Good fluff!)
I am pleased to see that Eric Boyd's and Tom Costa's entry on horses from their Realms Bestiary made it into official canon. Great work guys! |

Seconded! The horse breeds are a very nice addition. If you don't mind me asking, are the CoV stats similar to the original Realm's Beastiary templates, are they the same?
Also: Moonsea Skysentinel? Guys, PLEASE, give me a small teaser. What is this? |

Yes quite right, hold judgement until you actually hold the book and read it.
I mean, I wasn't entirely thrilled with the book at first, when I heard was SKR being one of the authors, but so far the book appears to be great. |
