Oh? Why is that?

No no no! That book I like, and I consider it to be one of the better Realms resources. In fact, one of the characters I'm working on for my Lords of Waterdeep project was inspired entirely by a single line in the water genasi entry, and I'm also fiddling with a fey'ri NPC based on one of the illustrations. |

Oh? Why is that?
Back in the days of 2E, I got the following Complete (race) Handbooks: Elves, Dwarves, and Humanoids. And I didn't buy it, but I looked thru a friend's Gnomes and Halflings book, as well.
Other than a couple of kits, I wasn't terribly impressed with the books. Most of the cultural stuff was just too try, and didn't feel quite right -- it seemed to be just the tiniest bit off.
Since those books had little to offer, I didn't have a lot of hope for the new 3.x Race books. If they couldn't do those right in 2E, I don't think the crunch-heavy 3.x rules could do much better. |

Page 119.
And my mother did indeed warn me about girls with wings... She said that the wings made things difficult and sometimes required creative work-arounds. |

Let's try this again. Which of the two figures in the illustration on page 119 are you basing the NPC on? You're being difficult on purpose...I can tell.

If I recall right, Taegan briefly in the The Rite mentioned having no problems with...positioning. Wow, wasn't sure I could phrase that in PG terms. |

I'm basing an NPC on the red-skinned girl in the illustration.

Ah, something else to look forward to in that book. I just started rereading The Rage yesterday, so hopefully I'll be getting to The Rite by the end of the week. |

*snickers* Don't make me sic a swarm of Miniature Giant Space Hamsters on you...
Actually, I've never based an NPC on an illustration before... The closest I've done to that is basing an NPC's appearance on a wallpaper I had on my computer at the time.
I have also made an NPC based on a GI Joe figure, but that was back when TSR and 2E were still going strong... |

Be sure to share your lovely fey'ri lady once your finished with her. Hmm...does that sound as wicked as I think it does? |
