You just have to appreciate the level of effort that must have gone into getting a synopsis for each book. |

I'm not sure about the rest, but, as I recall, Keith Baker had said only recently over on the WotC Eberron boards that this sourcebook was still in the "maybe" pile. In fact, the last information anyone had heard was that it was supposed to include information on the Last War as well, being about 228 pages in length.

Hmm I wonder if Champion of Ruins is another FR source book, remeber RichB said there would be a source book coming out around June/July that would have a bunch of FR specfic Demon lords in it (ie Dendar etc) |

You could be right about that, Dargoth. Although, with Jeff Crook (one of the authors of this tome) being involved, it might suggest that this is in fact a DL tome. He'd only recently just mentioned something about working on a DL project that would be published sometime around June/July next year. Perhaps, this is the book he's working on...

My thoughts on these were:
Now we'll have three books called City of Splendors. This is why we need the product codes.
If anyone can fit enough existing material and enough new material into 160 or 192 pages, it's Eric.
I am much more enthusiastic about a sourcebook written by one person, if I like them at all, than another Frankenstein monster.
The idea of evil PCs/protagonists is against the ethos of the Realms (as I discussed with Ed back in the abyss of time). It's a shame we get Champions of Ruin before a book about Realms adventurers and adventuring companies, which seems to be the stand-out book Wizards could do that would have 3E-player-appeal *and* contribute to Realmslore. |

Well met
Oh I quite agree on your point with the product codes, Faraer. It was much easier to refer to tomes with references such as FR1, H1, FRC1 etc.
Indeed, i'm sure that Eric will produce an amazing book However, my point is that we have often had a standard of 128 pages or 192 pages, it would have been better to have expected a 192 page tome, as you know then that you have as much crammed into it as possible....given that boxed sets are a thing of the past |
