Their is two humans however who are very adept at getting in to places and that would be Artemis Enteri, and also Erevis Cale.

I agree. I always choose halflings when I make thief characters on the Forgotten Realms RPG's. They have all of the best advantages for thief characters.

Haha! Now we're finally getting somewhere! What we should be discussing is what race is best for which class or prestige class. There is no best overall race, because each excells in some particular area. Isn't that the point of societal living anyway?; to contribute your strength/s while someone else compensates for your weakness/es. That's why adventurers who like to stay alive travel in teams instead of alone. |

Yes, if you like fighters, you'll love Dwarves, mages, you'll prefere Elves, or Gnomes. Each class has its perfect race. And if you just want mindless minions, go for orcs, or golins. |

I like fighters, but I will never play a dwarf. I like elven fighters a lot. If I want to play a thief, does not mean I play a halfling thief. If I want to play a wizard, I would not think of elves in the first place.... I don't see why I should either... has it something to do with min/maxing? And if everybody would think that way...wouldn't we create a Faerūn with a lot of elven mages, dwarven fighters and halfling thieves? Something would go very wrong that way in my humble opinion.
Is this still on or off topic? |

One of my other favorite roles to play is a Elven Ranger Marskman. Though I do like a good Drow Assin. |

In my opinion, Drow make good Mages, Fighters Thieves/Assassins, and the females make Excellent Priestess's. The Great Drizzt |

LOL, I could roll up a Gnome into a ball, and use him in the sling as a bullet, Drow might make some of the best archers now that i think about it, they can get a 20 DEX! The Great Drizzt |

Protection from Normal Missiles does, as well as a good suit of (magical) armor, or gloves of missile snaring... amongst other things. |

I never said a Dwarf could not be proficient with a bow. I just think calling a Warhammer or an Axe a Dwarven bow, is funny. Oh, Mumadar I was talking about other bows caompared.

Yeah Drow crossbows are cool(ecspecially with different Drow poisons) I don't need gloves of missle snaring, or magical armor and whatnot, I'm fast enough to catch them with my bare fingers, and sometimes even with my teeth, I have the speed of a mongoose, the reflexes of a cat, and the strength of 10 bears, and the looks of a rat......wait, that last part isnt right. Gloves of missle snaring can only catch 2 items at once if i'm not mistaken, and thats if you have no weapons in your hands, plus drow would shoot more than just 2 anyways, how often do you just encounter 1 Drow, besides me? I'm a 1 man army Also, Drow have other ways to make the tiny bolts magical, so protection spells might not work! The Great Drizzt |

Hehehe... I know Talk about the deadly punch and range of a heavy crossbow... too bad the rate of fire is so much slower then a normal bow. Hmmm... making a medieval-like version of a heavy machine gun team... one loading the heavy crossbow, the other firing it... that should fix that problem. |

Yeah right I'd like to see you catch a drow crossbow bolt in your teeth. This is what it would look like.
Drizzt: Hey, look at me I can catch this crossbow bolt in my teeth. Drow Crossbow Person: (fires crossbow) Drizzt:(crossbow pierces head and comes out other sidek)(Drizzt gasps for breath and falls over choking) |

Agree, too bad I have to go back to DragonLance for my really favorite D&D dwarven character: Flint Fireforge.
He might be stereotypical, however very well portrayed. I haven't found a novel character like that in the Realms yet. Bruenor comes a long way, but to me is not as memorable a character as Flint. The Bouldershoulder brothers are comical sidekicks, not too far removed from Gully-dwarves in their role in the novels and easily remembered for their slapstick performance rather then 'character'. |

EEK! Yuan-ti are abomonations of nature... Well just about every monster in the D&D is, what in the nine hells am i... Ok gettin of subject. Basically from the waist down they're snake with a somewhat human torso and sometimes a human head (If memory serves) but most occasions with the head of a snake. And they have a penchent for forming cults, and using poison, and stuff like that there... |
