The custom item I am creating for my character is neat but I keep running outta dough. I am really just trying to keep the character in the "possibly surviving" catagory (and keep the idea in my head), as this particular character is rather....vulnerable. |

I'm more concerned with concept-not power, so whatever comes up should work.
I'm doubting you'll be the most vulnerable character in the party, Artalis-I'm really going concept over power... |

Alrighty everyone,
I'm heading for the north of the island with my fiancé over the weekend, so I won't be here to post for about 2 days. Before I go, can someone let me know Lady K's "ethereal" email address? I understand that we are to email our character sheet to this address (and btw, is there a size limit to this email? I plan to send an Excel spreadsheet approx. 1.2 MB in size...)
I'll use 32-point buy and equip the little fellow with the standard DMG wealth... if we get more, that'll be bonus wands or scroll for my little guy when I come back after the weekend! :)
Now that I know that my concept is kosher, here is a brief glimpse on my character: (background story not written yet; ETA Monday or Tuesday)
Rondell Rivenstone, CG Rock Gnome Male Bard6/Cleric1(Baravar Cloakshadow, Gnome & Illusion domains), Feats: (1st, Regional) Artist, (3rd) Spell Focus Illusions, (6th) Rock Gnome Trickster. Home Region: Gnome - Western Heartlands (small gnome village on Chionthar River banks) |

It is still my decision yes.
The 'point buy system' seems to be the best option at this point, so I'll think we'll go with that. I'm sorry if this causes any problems with anyone's design, but I've had ethereal mail messages asking me which system we would be using, and most were for the 'point buy system'.
Which one will it be?

Just fill in some of the blank areas of my write-up with some notes of your own, and you'll have your very own interpretation of the City of Doors.
Errm... uh... I have never played D&D in the pen and paper version Shocking as this may seem, this campaign and Arivias are my very first. I wish I could play in person but I don't know anyone around here who plays D&D and I'll be moving soon anyways. I've been reading Forgotten Realms paperbacks for years and just recently started buying the sourcebooks thinking about writing a book of my own. I hopped online to find some extra information, found this wonderful website, saw a reference to PbEM's, was intrigued, and here I am
As to starting gold I used 19000gp the standard rate. If we get more I would gladly add some more niftly items or extra to the items I already have |

Don't worry, this is only my second. So you're in good company. Er, if you can call it good.
I'd of course love some extra cash, since there are plenty of things sort of "missing" that I'd like to add. Of course, once I redid the spell costs and effectivly got a hundred gold pieces for every spell, I ended up with "extra" anyway. I've not yet balanced that book. I meant to do it today, but I came down with heavy allergies (I guess -- pollen count's high, though it usually doesn't affect me like this).
I'm sure I'll get it done before the deadline, of course. I just have to get cracking. |

Lady K. will have that information for you soon, Rogue. Remember, it's not really essential to the campaign, it's just a piece of interesting add-on material -- it's generalised enough so that it can be added post PC-creation.

Ah Sage just trying to help out. BookWyrm found a problem with my charcter. The template says that a half dragon must be the same alignment as the color of the dragon. I was going to be a black dragon, so this kinda throws off my concept a little if i wish to remain good(which i do). I may just change the color or i may just change what my character will be since all i have really done is (start to ) write a BG story for him. I havent decided yet.

We miss her Well I do anyways but I'm sure everyone else at Candlekeep does too |

Fear not Wood Elf, for the Lady K. will be here tomorrow.
As for the website, well, while most of the work has been completed, it's just a matter of finding the right ISP to host the sight. There's a considerable amount of information on the website, and most of the companies here in Australia charge rather expensive rates for hosting websites with large amounts of information.
We're correctly in negotiation with three ISPs at the moment. I'll let you know more as it happens.

How much space are we talking here? You can use my Homestead website if you would like. I have 2 or 3 small websites of my own on my account that I pay for but I believe there is quite a bit of space left.
(Added later) I just checked I only have 24MB left |

Same here, so to speak. My addition of a ring of the foreigner puts me in a debt of almost two and a half thousand gold. I can drop out the bracers of protection +1, but that only negates a thousand. |

My character will happily loan you 1500, but we will have to resolve references, interest rates, penalties for late payments, and collateral forfeiture in the sad event of foreclosure. I'll send one of my people to talk with one of yours if you are still interested.

Well, after reading this whole thread, I just have to say, this is all WAY out of my league.
Would it be possible to arrange for me and any other total newbies to watch? It could really help us learn, and furthermore it sounds like a damn interesting campaign |

Greetings all,
I've heard about this campaign from a friend, and was wondering if there was room for another player?
Just to quell the questions that may arise, I've been playing D&D since 3.0 arrived, but since that time I have been working on and off for various RPGA campaigns (yes, the evil empire). I've also been primarily playing in the realms, and would muchly like to be able to participate in the campaign.
If I'm supposed to email someone then you'll have to forgive me (well not really if you don't want to) for posting here, but if that is the case, could someone let me know whom to email, and at what address?
Cheers,
James Zwiers |

MuadDib, I believe you are already on the "lurker" list I am glad to see you back, I trust you had a good vacation?
macabail, I think we are all full up but I am not certain. Sage is the DM so it would be best to e-mail him. This campaign is on hold right now anyways as Sage has higher priorities to attend to, please read this scroll for more information. |

Okay, character sent off finally. Sorry I took so long. I wanted to spend a few days researching and then a few more letting the info bang around inside my head before comitting everything to pixels.

Since I am the other DM helping the Sage in the creation of this campaign, I'm willing to field any questions anyone has about it until he returns.
If you want to send something via email, I would suggest you send it to my account since the Sage is currently busy with other things at the moment.
My address is in my profile, but for those too lazy () to check it's - dirichlet01@hotmail.com

Ah, the Bookwyrm. You'll be happy to know that your reputation here proceeds you . . . .
Anyway, I've discussed this with the Sage, and we both think it would be best for you just to post the modification data here instead.
