| Yes it is disrespectful, but not in any way out of line. Sick to death of topics getting hijacked year after year. THAT is disrespectful. |

Attacking someone for being off-topic is out of line.
All you had to do was say something like "Hey, can we please get back to the original topic?" and that would have been more than sufficient.

It's the nature of any online discussion that they deviate from the original topic, from time to time. It's just like conversing with someone in real life: topics drift and change.

I mentioned that, in an aside, 4 years ago!!! I did not say - Hey everyone, lets talk about Tolkien for the next decade.
Clearly I should have know that mentioning something would completely screw over any on topic conversation.
