Well met
Well, here ye are, the first set of new smilies to hopefully satisfy a number of scribes herein (yes, SiriusBlack, I have included a "rolling eyes" smiley for thee).
The new smilies are as follows (they will possibly be renamed soon):
- Rolling Eyes - Totally Confused - Help! - I'm the King - Laughing - What?! - Oooohh - Scowl

YES! I Thank thee beyond reason, Alaundo. You have no idea how long I've waited for the "Rolling Eyes" smiley. Sarcasm is a very hard emotion to express over a forum. |

Well, it was once jokingly remarked on another forum (by a psychology major) that my frequent use of the emoticons in many of my posts, displayed (or rather, was my way of compensating for) an inner tendency that I lack, to be able to physically express, my emotions properly...

All sounds very Freudian my dear Sage. I should think that you have several deep rooted unresolved conflicts. I should also think that you have regresed to a stage in your development in which, you display childish behaviour by using bright and colourful faces to express your feelings... oh dear...
Freuds some of theories are nice but I can't agree with his psycosexual stages of devlopment
Back onto topic...
Alaundo Thanks for these truly wonderful smilies. They are all nice and brightly coloured and *eyes glaze over- Drools*

Actually, considering the fact that we're dealing with personality concepts, rather than conscious objects, I believe the theories of Jungian psychology would be more relevant...

Basically we cover the 5 schools of Psychology, this is some what basic. Next well look at Individual Differences. Lastly Social Psychology.
Plus theres this Investigation that we have to write, based upon Hogans work concerning Percieved intelligence. Very Interesting stuff.
Not bad eh? For someone whos been accept for an Engineering Degree

Hmph. I recall another "sarcastic" emoticon, Alaundo. Which you said would be added. And which I have to consider better. For one thing, I don't like them animated.

Well, at first I thought to attack the remark by studying up on some of the theories that this psychology major (who is also a friend) mentioned he'd studied to determine his little 'theory' about my emotional complex, but a lack of quality time defeated that idea before I even set it going. I wanted to find something within the literature to support my opposing argument, and refute his claims.
However, I realised then, that he was joking when he said it, and afterall, we are good friends, so for a time I thought nothing more about it.
But, as the time since this event has passed, I have noticed that at times, I can be a little emotionally distant, especially to those closest to me...
Make of it, what you will...

Heh, I believe I have located one of your recent posts, devoid of smilies, I might add!
If I may direct your attention to the very first post of this scroll, I will have you note the utter lack of smilies. Amazing, is it not? |

Ah yes, although I'm sure there have been other occurences (on my part) of this lack of 'smilie-use' as well.
And I really don't use emoticons that much, do I...

Nay, Sage. Take not my friendly jesting as offense. 'Tis merely the small amount of fun I can extract from an overworked Realmsian Loremaster... |

These are very good Alaundo, thank you.
However, while visiting the Ravenloft boards, I noticed that they have smilies of famous NPCs from the campaign setting, like Strahd, and Azalin for example.
Do such smilies exist for the Forgotten Realms setting as well?. I'd really like to see small smilies of Elminster, Khelben, and Storm .

Well met
Some people are ne'er pleased This does indeed sound interesting though, Lady Kazandra, and I would be happy to take a look at any attempts to create icons of such personalities of the Realms. If anyone wishs to attempt to create such, please feel free and send them on to us. The icons are in the GIF format and are 15x15 pixels. |

I may just take you up on that Alaundo. The Ravenloft icons are easier enough to alter. I'll send you some examples next week, time permitting of course .

I don't know if anyone has suggested this or not, but what about a smilie that has a little anime sweatdrop type thing? ^_^() something like that or -_-;
Just a thought. I don't know about anyone else, but I use those a lot. (but I could also be the only one...who knows?) lol!

Sadon, I gave Alaundo one like that -- along with "sarcastic," "eager," and "thinking."
He's yet to answer why they're not here.
Of course, perhaps they're not up to other people's expectations. Would anyone like me to send them these emoticons for review? |

The ^_^ is similar to the one I made for my Messenger program. The "eager" looks like the "big smile" face from the same program. Only, of course, they're both in the same style as the old emoticons here. As yet, I haven't made a -_- face.
I'll send them to you both. |

I generally don't pay attention to the emails unless I need to talk directly to someone. I don't exactly record every member's email adress.
Anyway, go ahead and check. I just sent them. |
