Ok so here is the new and magnificent RPG opportunity. Everyone is welcome, but as a rule, PCs should be 'normal'. So no world-destroyers. And everybody should tell what their character is like.

Narad Bladesinger:a moon elf and an average-power bladesinger, doesn't know many spells, but is a quite good fighter. Has some bladesongs that help him in combat. Narad has only a couple of magical items: Sword and elven-made boots.

_____________________________________________________________________

It was a sunny day and Narad had nothing to do. It was like in an oven, so Narad decided to go to the inn and have a drink. On his way to the inn, he saw a large crowd on the courtyard and decided to check it out before heading to the inn.
The crowd was listening to something that Narad couldn't see. He climbed to a nearby wagon, hopeing to see something.
From his vantage point, Narad saw what the crowd was listening to.
A robed figure was standing in the middle of the crowd talking to anyone who would listen.
"...bow to the will of my master and you shall be saved!". But the crowd disagreed. They shouted things like "Go away", "You're a fool!" and "Do you want us to get a cleric to heal your madness?". But the crowd shouted much worse things too and the man was getting tired of it. Finally the robed man shouted:"You are not worthy of my master's favor". The man started to cast a spell and when finished he disappeared. But when he disappeared, he left a fireball floating in the air. Narad's eyes went wide and he didn't even have the time to shout "Noooo!" when someone from the crowd reached for the floating fireball.
A loud explosion boomed and though not very large one, the fireball swallowed most of the crowd.

>In the inn, everything goes just as normal. Suddently everyone hears a loud explosion from outside and before anyone even tries to get up and check what just happened, the door opens and an elf rushes through>
We have a problem!

Icewolf jumps out of his chair, and rushes over to the elf. "What is the problem?

Silently, from beneath the table the sorceror was sitting at, a wolf pads out and goes to stand beside his master.

>Narad pauses for a moment to catch his breath>
Some wizard just dropped a fireball in the middle of a large group. More than 20 were killed instantly and many more are badly wounded.
>Anger can be heard in Narad's voice>
I say we hunt that man down.
>Looks around the inn, searching for anyone intrested. His eyes stop at Icewolf>
Will you join me?

Lookes at everyones reacion, expesially Shadowlords.

"Nah, I'm just messing with ya, yuo don't become drunk on tea you know, and sure, I will join Narad. I don't have much to do now, and you joined us in our quest."

Icewolf looks at the elf calling for a mob. "Umm, am I the only one who realizes that if a mage could just drop a fireball on a group, we should probably not just, 'hunt the man down'? We need to come up with a plan first."
He pulls a scroll out of a pocket in his robe, and writes something on it. He kneels, and shows it to Wolf, "I need this, go get it from my room, please."

The wolf pads away towards the stairs, and climbs them. He comes back down moments later, carrying a package. "Good Boy!" Icewolf pets the wolf fondly, "You did remember to lock the room back, right?"

He unfolds the package, and lays it on the nearest table. It contains a pair of bracers, an amulet, a ring and a cloak. The sorceror dons the items, and as he puts the cloak on, he subtly shifts a foot to the left.

He turns back to the elf, "If we are going to hunt him down, however, we must make haste. I will work some spells to try to trace his magic. Would you be kind enough to find some more meatshielld--err, hunting companions?" He grins, and slips past the elf, and out the door.

>Watches as Icewolf goes, then turns to Ezindir>
Good to have you too. Lets go and see if Icewolf can trase that mage. Then we'll hunt him down.
>Looks to the inn one more time>
Anyone else? Maybe we'll find someone on our way...
>Goes through the door, following Icewolf>

Ok, good to have you both. Now Ezindir is a ranger and a shadowdancer, right? Can fly, has two magical blades... (Try avoiding munchkin stuff, ok?)

But what about you Icewolf, just plain sorcerer with a wolf as a familiar or is there something else?

Well, if you haven't done it already you could check out profile. It has the most info. BTW, I am a mage to. Is that satisfiying, or are you so lazy that I will have cut'n paste the facts from my profile?

Hmm.. Okay, sorry about that. Most of people just don't keep bio about their characters...
But anyway, if you have read the other topic, we're trying to tone down our charcters' powers. So your character goes fine, just no high level spells or anything like that. Can you do that?

Could you define high level spells? I'm working on my bio now, and the way he gets his sorcerous abilities is kind of...weird. OK, very weird.

High level spell would be a spell that leaves us others with nothing to do. If your spells don't stand in the story's way I think they are ok. Kinda hard to tell now, since I don't know what we'll encounter,
but try to make them so, that you won't be more powerful than we. We shall see...

What a chaos out here. Icewolf, any hope with that tracking-spell?
Or do we just start looking?

Icewolf looks at the elf. "Well, they are pretty clever. They warded this area against the most powerful tracking spells." He grinned, "And that is why I cast a simple one." He points north. "When he vanished, he travelled due north, about half a mile. Beyond that, I know not." He looked at the group who had come out of the tavern, "Are any of you trackers?"

"I can"said a tall elven women who stepped out from the crowd. Her dark red hair and cloak singed around the edges. "I overheard your question, and if no one else can..." she said looking at the party exiting the tavern. "I believe I can follow the trail, once we can get out of the city."

Assuming it's okay if I jump in! Fireheart is a ranger (or druid)/cleric to Sune (I hope that will work...I'll have to work up stats/bio etc.)

Icewolf nods, "Good, good. Who is the 'leader' of this little expedition. I can get us to where he teleported to, but I'm no leader." He begins looking through his component bag, making sure he doesn't need to stock up. "Hmm. I better go replenish some of my supplies before we leave. I'll be back in a few."

>Narad looks Fireheart in suprise>
We'd appreciate your help. And personally, I'm glad to see another surface-elf around here.
>Looks around>
I wonder if somebody else will join us.
Anyway, does everyone have a horse? We can't let anyone walk.
>Starts walking towards the stables>

"I am glad to serve"Fireheart said, as she tossed her hair, smiling.
"Wait"she said as the other elf turned toward the stables. "I do have a horse, but the mage with the wolf mentioned needing components, perhaps we should wait until he returns before gathering our mounts." she said still smiling. "I would not want anyone left behind who was interested in solving this mystery." Remember the mage's question, she asked"Oh, will you be the one leading us?"

Thanks! - No problem, I'd read with interest the other topic and thought since this one was new, I'd jump in early!...how low did you have in mind? I've got her stated as a 6th lvel (ranger 3/cleric 3) but I haven't had a chance to do much else. I can raise or lower the power level if you need it. I haven't picked magic items or anything but I can keep it pretty low and with the standard funds.

Icewolf walks back to the group, mumbling, "Stupid backwater excuse for a magic shop. Can't even keep mandrake in the store."

He looks up, "Umm, Yar let me know you were planning on using horses. As good as Yar behaves, most horses are a might... skittish around him. I have a few spells that might help there."

He rifals through his things and pulls out a scroll case. "Ah, yes, here they are. I pen these things in my spare time. it saves me time shopping for horses. If any of you have unusually calm horses, feel free to ride them."

I know, I know, this is a long thing to read, but remember, I only really go overboard like this when I write histories or bios for my characters. That is why every single bio I have ever done is typed out. Waaaaay too much crap to write out by hand.

Background:
As a young man, Allen DeNeerev showed quite an affinity for magic. His parents knew that he was meant for great things, and found an elderly mage who was looking to pass on his craft. On his first day, his new master introduced himself as Fyrstar. As Allen began to introduce himself, the old mage cut him off, "Your name does not matter. It was given when you were new to Toril. None but the gods could know you well enough to name you. I will wait to name you until I know you better." The old mage smiled, "For now, I call you apprentice."

And so Allen DeNeerev became no more, and the apprentice began his training.

A number of years later, the Apprentice was studying as his master had bade him, when he was called to the lobby. Fyrstar was in their, sitting at the table when the Apprentice entered. "Apprentice, have you studied the spells that I had told you to memorize?" "Yes Master." "Then enter the circle I prepared for you, and cast the spells."
The young lad entered the circle, and kneeled. He began the casting that allowed him to speak with animals. When that was done, he cast a spell that onlu his master knew how to scribe. A wolf faded into view, and Icewolf spoke to it, trying to control his excitement. "Would you like to be my friend? My familiar?" The wolf tilted its head, then nodded slightly. The lad grinned, and turned to his master, "Master, the wolf has agreed to become my familiar! His name is Yar" The old mage said, "How did the wolf understand you?" The boy thought quickly, "The magic of your spell twisted my thoughts as I was speaking them, making them something the wolf could understand." The wizard grinned, "You are wrong. That is how spells that allow you to speak to animals do work...hoever," the man grinned even broader, "That scroll is nothing but gibberish that is enspelled to disappear as it is read. The wolf understood you because you are kindred spirits." He mumbled something to himself and looked the younger lad over, taking note of his eye color, then nodded. "Apprentice, you are, no longer. I now name you Icewolf. Your training is nearing its end. I will leave you now, finish the ritual to make this wolf your familiar, and get some rest."

The night passed, and then the next few months rolled by as Icewolf finished his schooling. One day, the master called his young apprentice into his study. Icewolf entered cautiously. "Ah, Icewolf, just who I was waiting for! Your training with me is complete. I can teach you only one more thing. How to teach." He made a beckoning motion with one hand, and a young girl, a few years younger than Icewolf, entered the room. "This is my new Apprentice. I want you to teach her how to do the tasks I assigned you. Teach her no magic unless I instruct you to do so, and then teach her only what is absolutely neccessary, and not anything for convenience." Icewolf bowed, "I would be honored mas--" Fyrstar cut him off, "I am no longer your master. We are now colleagues. Not equals yet, maybe, but colleagues nonetheless. Just take the Apprentice here, and show her her room. It will be the empty one down the hall from yours."
A few months passed, and Fyrstar instructed Icewolf to help the lass concoct a potion. During the procedure, the girl's robe caught on the burner, igniting it. She panicked and began waving her hand around trying to put out the flame.

She hit Icewolf in the face, dazing him, and bloodying his nose. Icewolf grabbed the sleeve's material, and gave a quick jerk. The sleeve ripped off at the seams, and the fire quickly burned Icewolf's hands. He slammed it to a blank spot of the stone counter, and began slapping it to put out the flame.

The younger lady rushed over to it to try and help, but she knocked over the purple liquid that was the potion they were trying to make. Icewolf pushed the girl away. On being exposed to the direct flame. There was an explosion that knocked the Apprentice into the wall, putting a dent in the wood. When the smoke cleared, and her vision straightened again, Icewolf was nowhere in sight. She panicked and screamed. Within moments, Fyrstar was in the room, and asking the girl what had happened. She was still panicking and trying to babble. Wolf came padding in, and after listening for a few moments, bit her on the leg. She yelped, then explained what happened. The older mage went to the table, examined the stuff there, and cast a spell. Icewolf faded into view, floating a few feet above the floor. "I have no clue what happened, sir. I was trying to put out the fire before it caught anything else on fire, then everything is a blur." Fyrstar looked grim. "Do you know what potion you were brewing?" Icewolf nodded, "I believe it was an ethereal effect. The components suggested that, anyway." The other mage nodded, "It was a potion to make one shift to the Ethereal plane for a short time." He passed a hand through Icewolf, meeting no resistance. "The fact that my spell did not bring you back fully is troubling. Something happened that should not have happened." Icewolf sighed, "I feared that was the case when my own spells didn't work." Fyrstar thought for a moment, "We should both study this, and see what we can find out." Icewolf laughed, "I cannot even touch my spellbooks, much less use them to study." The younger girl spoke up, "I'll help you in any way I can, sir." She blushed, "It..it is my fault that this happened." Both the wizards declared, "Nonsense." Everybody laughed, and it was decided that the lady would help Icewolf with anything that needed tangible manipulation.

A few weeks later, Icewolf is looking through an old text about those who had travelled via ethereal routes. He found an old passage about those who had become stuck. The passage continued onto the next page. "Flip the page..." He looked at the lass, and found she was sleeping. "Well...I could use a break." He willed himself into the air a little, and reclined. His eyes closed, and he drifted off to sleep...

Icewolf awoke to his helper makied scared whispers, "Wake up! Please be OK!" He listened for a few more seconds before speaking, "I'm awake already. I still get tired too, but I usually am in my room when I take my rest." He opened his eyes, and saw her trembling slightly. "Are you alright?" She smiled a little, "I...I'll be fine. I just feel guilty. This is all my fault, and if you had died because of me..." She ran out of the room. Icewolf told his familiar to follow her, make sure she wasn't trying to do something stupid. He closed his eyes again and went back to sleep...for all of five minutes. "I am such an idiot! Now how's she gonna turn that page?"

He drifted towards her room, not bothering to use doors, going through the walls instead. As he floated into her room, a chime went off, and she turned around, and a small crackle of lightning shot from her hand, passing through Icewolf harmlessly. She jumped up and ran towards him, to make sure he was okay. She tripped on something, and fell. Out of pure reflex, Icewolf started to catch her, and he did! She gasped, and tried to hug him, but her arms passed right through him, and she fell to the floor. "Quick, go get the master. Tell him what happened!" She rushed out of the room, and came back a few moments later with the old mage in tow. "Lightning, huh? Why didn't I think of that?" He beckoned, "Follow me." He turned and left the room. The other two obediently followed him.

The old mage went into a chamber that Icewolf had never seen before. He bade his female apprentice to stay outside with Yar while Icewolf went into the chamber. Icewolf looked around once inside the chamber, and noticed the markings that protected against different forces. Most of them were set for the aura of evil beings. Fyrstat clapped his hands once, and the markings shifted. Icewolf looked puzzled, "Protection from electricty?" Then comprehension dawned on him. He stepped into the circle and shifted into a sitting position. The older mage began a casting. Icewolf's eyes snapped open as the other wizard finished casting the spell. Chain Lightning? That's too powe--" He began screaming in pain as the electricity washed over him. The runes on the floor began to grow bright, and over the crackling and zapping noises of the lightning, Fyrstar said, in a worried voice, "Gods help me, those runes are reflecting the electric power back onto him!" Icewolf thought he was doomed, but a spell came to his mind. He steeled his concentration, struggling through the pain, and called on his bracers to quicken the spell.

As the lightning died out, a thin layer of bright blue light was glowing around the younger mage. When all the electricity was cleared, Icewolf groaned, and passed out falling heavily to the floor.

When he opened his eyes again, he was in his bed, under the covers. Yar was curled up at his feet, and the young lady apprentice was lying on top of the covers, with her arms around Icewolf. When she felt him shift, she whispered, "Don't do anything like that again, okay?" Before Icewolf could answer, she planted a kiss on his lips, cutting off any speech.

Icewolf began to resume his self-training in the tower when he noticed something strange. He could cast certain spells without having them prepared. Even when he hadn't prepared any spells, the magical knowledge was in his mind. When he inquired of his master, the older mage didn't have an answer. "Maybe the spell you worked to absorb the lightning gave you some connection to the Weave.

Icewolf trained with his new method of magic use. The process took years to properly control and identify the spells he knew. During this time, he also developed his relationship with the young lass. They became lovers, and spent most of their free time together.

He was pacing in his room. He stopped and looked at the window, "Wow...its getting late. Let's get this done." He looks at Yar, "Well, come on." He walked out of his room, and down the hall. He knocked on the door, and almost ran before the door opened. Her eyes lit up, "Hello! come in!" Icewolf went inside as she turned to let him in. He bade her sit on the bed, and kneeled in front of her. She was puzzled, but didn't say anything. Icewolf finally spoke. "You make me happy, you are beautiful, and I love you." He pulled a small case from his pocket, and opened it "Marry me?" She started to cry, "Yes! Of course I will!" Icewolf put the ring on her finger, and she wrapped he arms around Icewolf, and pulled him into a passionate kiss.

A few days later, Icewolf knocked on his mentor's door. As the older man bade him enter, Icewolf opened the door and went in. Fyrstar took one look at the younger lad, and said, "You're leaving, aren't you?" Icewolf nodded, "I must go out of here. I cannot learn anymore here." "You are still going to marry her, right?" "Yes, I am. I just want her to finish her training first. Everyone must come to the end of one path before going down another."

And so Icewolf left the tower of Fyrstar the Blazewielder. He travelled around Faerun, advancing his magic and gathering wealth. He was relaxing in a tavern one day when a swirling vortex appeared on the surface of his table. "Icewolf. It has been awhile." Icewolf raised his eyebrows, "So I take it she's almost ready?" "Yeah, within weeks." "I'll be there as soon as I may." "Why not just teleport?" "The journey is most of the fun."

A tenday later, Icewolf reigned in his horse. He hopped off, and led his horse to the post. He tied it up, and headed into the tower. Before the door had even finished opening, he found himself lying on his back with his bride-to-be on top of him. "I missed you." Icewolf winced, "I noticed." She gave him a quick kiss and got to her feet. Icewolf stood and brushed himself off, "Let's go inside, shall we?" His fiancee looked behind him, "Where's Yar?" "Oh, he caught the scent of his lunch about 10 minutes ago. He should be back in a few minutes." The girl pretended to pout, "Aww, I wanted him to meet Arathy. Icewolf looked at her, "Who's Arathy?" The girl smiled, and a she-wolf came into the room. "Icewolf, meet my fmailiar, Arathy." Icewolf kneeled, and began to pet the she-wolf, "Hey there pretty girl."

A few days passed, and Icewolf and his love were both called into the study. "Icewolf and my Apprentice." I have called you in to announce that you now share one more thing." He straightened up. "I can no longer teach either of you anything new. Usually, when this occurs, I name my apprentice." He looked at each of them in turn. "But in this case, I know someone that would be more quailfied." He grabbed their hands, and moved them together. "Icewolf, name your bride." Icewolf looked to the lady next to him. "Your name is... Vanima." Fyrstar raised an eyebrow."Where did you learn Elven?" Icewolf grinned. "I didn't spend all my travelling time getting drunk in taverns, you know." The older mage began again, "Icewolf, do you take Vanima as your wife?" "Absolutely, I do" "Vanima, do you take Ice--" "Yes! I do!" The wizard chuckled,
"Then by the powers vested in me by Holy Mystra, the Lady of Mysteries, I pronounce you Husband and Wife. You may kiss the bride."

Years passed, and Icewolf and Vanima travelled together over Faerun. The first part of their journey, Vanima insisted that Icewolf showed her where he had gone while she finished her schooling under Fyrstar.
One day, during their journey, they were attacked. There were 6 of them. Their foes appeared out of thin air, already casting spells. Icewolf called upon the power of his gauntlets. He cast three magic missile spells in quick procession. They all hit their targets squarely, disrupting their castings. Yar ran after one, scaring the man enough to make him fall, and his spell was wasted. Vanima had cast a spell, and a wave of flames shot from her outstretched hands. Both the wizards caught in the wave screamed and fell.

One of the attackers called for a retreat, and the remaining wizards began casting spells that Icewolf recognized as teleport spells. He grabbed a dagger and threw it at one of them. He cried out and fell as the dagger sunk into his leg. The others finished their castings and disappeared, but Icewolf quickly rushed over to the leftover man, and kicked him in the head, knocking him unconcious.

When the man awoke, he was bound and gagged. Icewolf stood near him, hold a wand outstretched. "You will answer my questions, or you will find out what powers my wand holds." Vanima undid the gag as the man nodded. "Who are you." "Is my name really that important?" "Who sent you?" "I don't know, he contacted us through a golem." Icewolf nodded, "If I let you go, what would you do?" As he said it, he worked a truth-seeking spell. "Probably try to kill you again." He looked surprised at his own words, and struggled against his bonds. Icewolf sighed, and cast a spell to drain his magics from his. "There, now you don't have any spells left." He teleported the man to a jail cell, and went to make sure his wife wasn't hurt.

Later that year, a messenger found them both relaxing in a inn. He gave them a letter and left. When they opened the letter, they found that it was a letter from a friend of Fyrstar's. The old mage was dead. He passed away in his sleep. The two teleported back, and conducted the proper rituals. They found a letter that left Fyrstar's tower to them. They went about organizing all the dead mage's belongings. One day, ald farmer came running up to the gates, and Icewolf met him there. "Sir, are you the archmage Fyrstar?" Icewolf shook his head, "He passed away some time ago." The old man's face visibly dropped. "Then we are doomed!" Icewolf grabbed the man's shoulder, "I am--was, his apprentice. Mayhaps I could help you." The man explained that a demon was occupying his hometown, demanding vengeance on the young mage who had imprisoned him decades ago. Arivyn Fyrstar, The Blazewielder.

Icewolf took the farmer inside and fed him. He spent the night going through Fyrstar's journals, looking for some mention of the event. Near dawn, he found it. He read the entire chapter that was written, detailing the exact spells and some background of the demon. He went and informed the farmer that they would leave as soon as he could prepare his spells.

The next afternoon found the farmer and Icewolf flying through the sky via an enchanted pair of boots. Vanima stayed behind because they only had the 2 pairs of boots, and the farmer was needed to guide Icewolf to the village. They made it to the outskirts of the village close to dusk. He guided the farmer down, and ended the spell keeping them skybound. He told the farmer to hide and turned toward the village. When he had passed through the first city street, an inhuman, grating voice bellowed, "I SMELL MAGIC. IS THAT YOU, PATHETIC LITTLE FYRSTAR?" Icewolf stopped and said in a loud, clear voice, "The ravages of time have taken your vengeance for you demon. Arivyn Fyrstar, The Blazewielder is dead." "NO!! I WILL NOT BE DENIED THE SWEET TASTE OF THAT FOOL'S BLOOD DRIPPING FROM MY MOUTH." "I am Icewolf, former apprentice of the Blazewielder. I am the current master of his tower. You have no further business on this plane. Please trouble these villagers no more." "HAHAHA!!! DID YOU ACTUALLY THINK THATARIVYN WAS THE ONLY REASON FOR ME BEING HERE? NO, I FULLY INTEND TO WREAK HAVOC AND SOW DEATH WHEREVER MY GAZE HAPPENS TO FALL." Icewolf sighed, "I knew this wouldn't end nicely. Do come out and save us both some frustration."

He heard the steps behind him, and grabbed some components from his belt, using his cloak to hide his movements. At the last moment, he spun around, and flipped his cloak high out above and behind him while he finished casting his first spell. The demon watched the cape go up in amusement, while a Gate opened behind him. When the demon smelled a whiff of Brimstone, he turned around, and laughed, "WHAT?!? YOU THOUGHT I JUST WALK BACK THROUGH THE PORTAL, AND LET YOU DECLARE VICTORY." Icewolf grinned as he finished his next spell, and called upon the power of his bracers to give the spell extra power. The demon could only manage to gasp as the Telekinetic spell gave him one violent push and knocked him back through the portal. He brought the portal spell to a close, and the Gate began to shrink. Icewolf only laughed at the demon as it got back to its feet and ran towards the closing portal. There was a slight moment of alarm when the demon's head emerged back onto Icewolf's home plane. Then the portal finished closing, leaving the fiend's body behind. The head fell to the ground and rolled to Icewolf's feet. The head lolled over, and the face stared straight up to the sky, quite lifeless. Icewolf extended his hand, palm down, and blasted the Demon's head out of existance. As the villagers began coming out of there shops and homes, Icewolf asked, "Who leads this village?" A short, fat man came up in front of Icewolf, "I am...why did you come to help us. I am afraid we are too poor to properly pay you anything." Icewolf raised his hand, silencing the man, "You will pay me in full for my services." The mayor gained a very frightened look on his face, "B-b-but--" Icewolf cut him off. "When spring comes, you will plant a tree on this spot. And you and the entire village will make sure it grows and prospers. The taint the demon left here will fade, and the tree will bring life back to the area." He turned, and began walking outof town, back the way he came.

His boots had a limited number of charges, so he found the farmer who had the other pair and got them back. He decided to save the charges and walk back. He used a spell to teleport the boots back to the tower, and Yar to him. He also sent a message to Vanima telling her that he was safe and the demon was dead. And that he was going to walk home, and should be back soon.

And thus, he found hismelf trying to relax in a quiet tavern a week later, when an elf burst open the doors and, "We have a problem!

>Narad pauses for a while to think about Fireheart's question>
I am more used to travel alone, but I quess I can be a leader this time.. Though risking my own life goes fine by me, I don't like to risk other people's lives too.
>Narad looks at Yar>
I expect my horse to be little jumpy, but she has had a good training so I think she'll be ok. And Fireheart, I trust that as a ranger you can calm your horse down.
>Turns to Icewolf>
If you have other means to travel, fell free to use them. I hope that you won't leave us others behind.
>Rises to his horse>
Shall we get going?

______________________________________________________________________

Fireheart, I think your levels are ok for now, we'll see if we need to boost them up later on. Depending how the story goes.

Icewolf, nice history you've got there! Must have taken quite a while making that up. Impressive, I must say!
I hope your wife doesn't mind our little adventure

And remember that this is not alone my story, so feel free to make things up if things get boring.

Fireheart looked back and forth between Narad and Icewolf.
Yes, I believe I can control my horse, she said smiling.Forgive me, Icewolf, if I stick with the comfort of my mount. She nods to him, recognizing a mage stronger in power than her.Hang on a second. She quickly walks behind the tavern to the stables, and with practiced ease, saddles her horse. Soon she reaappeared in the street facing the others. She quickly tied her back behind her. "Lead the way." she said to Icewolf, if you will lead us to where your trail ends, once we get out of the City, I will see if I can follow where the mage who singed my hair went." ] she said indignantly.

Nice background, Icewolf, I guss I should get started on mine.
Narad, Thanks for the power level okay, I'll try to post a bit of her story, today.

>Glances Fireheart, concerned>
You got hit by the fireball? So you have even more reasons to track him down.
>Quickly turns to Icewolf>
North then? I wonder if any farmers or such saw him.

Icewolf nods, "Everyone ready?" He casts his spell, and everyone suddenly finds themselves in an area very different from the one they were standing in moments ago. "This is my contribution. I must now let those who know better the ways of nature lead."

He casts a spell, and an ethereal mount appears in front of him. Icewolf swung up on it and let Yar hop up behind him, "You are the laziest wolf I have ever seen." He pet the wolf behind the ears, and turned back to the front, "Shall we?"

Fireheart stepped off her horse and said "Please, don't move. While I check for tracks." (Assuming Icewolf's spell had teleported them to were he last tracked the mage, she began to look around the ground.) "I see where he had horse tied up waiting for him...hmmm..." she said, talking to herself and walking around a bit more. "Ah hah! There!" she said pointing. "His tracks lead still north. The ground is still wet from yesterdays rain, I shouldn't have to much trouble following him. He's only got about 1/2 candlemarks lead on us. We should catch him before nightfall."

She hopped upon her horse and after looking at Narad, who nodded, started leading the party north.

Hope that's okay!

Icewolf urges his mystical mount to follow, and begins humming a tune. He pulls a leather-bound book out of his pocket and starts reading. "Yar?" The wolf yips and hops down to the ground and trots beside Icewolf.

>The sun shines from an almost empty sky as they travel north. As the sun begins to set, they see a farmhouse in the distance. When the group gets closer, they notice that it has been burnt down.>
I quess our friend traveled through here...
>Dismounts and walks among the smoking ruins>
This has been done earlier, otherwise it would be still burning.
>Watches as Ezindir flies above>

Icewolf shut his book and rubbed his eyes. As he looked around, a sad look came to his face, "Damn. These people were farmers. They couldn't have been less than 80 summers." He looks at Narad, "What exactly did this mage babble about before he dropped that fireball?"

Yar began going through the rubble, trying to find anything useful in the remains.

>Closes his eyes and after a while opens them and answers to Icewolf>
I didn't hear much, just that he was trying to find followers. But not to himself, he spoke of a master...
>Starts walking back and forth>
If they send a mage to find followers I quess that they have more mages than just one. For example, this fire..
>Gestures towards one of the burnt buildings> ..was very violent. I'm quessing magical fire. If he didn't do this, there must be other mages with him. An organized group of mages can prove to be a serious threat.
>Notices Raven>
Raven, welcome. I think we'll need Alastor too at some point.
>Goes to Fireheart>
I think we need your tracking skills again. We need to know if he had company waiting for him here...

Nodding to Narad, Fireheart said, "Of course, if you will remain within the boundries of the farm, so I don't mix up our mounts with theirs." She then moves several yards out and began making slow circles around the farmhouse. As she reached a small copse of trees, she waved the others towards her. When they reached her, she says "Here. There were atleast 3 maybe 4-5 other horses here. So yes, I think our mageling met with some others...they are still headed north," she said and looking at everyone, "they are no longer trying to hide their trail. Either they don't care if they are followed, which means, there is more power here than a single mage, or they are very stupid."

Here's Fireheart's background. She's currently a ranger/cleric. I'll give a update on any major magic item as soon as I choose them.

Fireheart was born Lessien Cuthalion. A rare sun elf with long red hair and flashing green eyes, she had the patience of the elves but carried a bit of wanderlust in her that made her want to travel. In fact, for many years she trained as ranger in the mountains of Everaska.
However, during one of her many trips through the forests, she encountered a party of clerics who had come seeking the Hill Elder’s advice. One of the Clerics was devoted to Sune. In speaking with the Cleric, Lessien found her heart and soul drawn to the worship of Lady Firehair.
In that moment, Lessien made a decision to follow her heart, she left Everaska with the Clerics and train with the Cleric, Aldieri. It is a decision, she has never regretted. Since pledging her heart to Sune, Lessien took the name Fireheart and begin to travel, spreading the love and worship of her goddess everywhere she could.

"This is bad. It will probably take a while. I should call home, let my wife know I'll be delayed." Icewolf scanned the sky, and cast a quick spell. He pulled out a piece of parchment, and wrote a message on it. When the eagle landed on his shoulder, he spoke to it briefly, and tied the parchment to the eagle's leg. When it flew off, the mage put the parchment back into his pack, and turned back around. "I'll need to rest soon. If we're going up against mages, I'll need a different selectio0n of spells."
