Thanks, now all I need to do is count up what I have to see how many I need!

I've got to do the same thing. I just did the same thing with my DVDs, and discovered that I had twice as many as I would have estimated!

More on topic... I finally finished reading the War of the Spider Queen books. I know that this series was quite well-liked by a lot of people, but I'm not among those numbers. While I do have minor complaints and quibbles (such as, how did Gromph vomit up his breakfast when he wasn't in his own body?), there's nothing that makes me dislike them. They simply failed to grab me.

I think a large part of the problem was that the books focused on an all-evil group, and that the group wasn't truly united in common cause. They had common goals, but they kept squabbling amongst each other and almost dissolving, until they finally did turn on each other. Had they truly been united, it likely would have improved the reading experience for me.

So, while I didn't dislike the books, it's not likely that I'll read them again any time soon.

But I did like Pharaun, Alissza, and their interplay. I'd love to see him brought back, and a novel about the two of them.

Got Blackstaff in the mailbox today, time for my first realms book in quite a few months. The first couple of chapters were actually more entertaining than I had counted on and I am finding this to be the realmsbook I have enjoyed most, with the exception of Greenwood, for years.

My Girl Friend found a used book shop today and I had her pick up 20 more FR books lol. At 2 bucks a book you cant beat the price.

I completed the Maztica set, Horse lords books, Nobels books, Moonshae books, Druid Home books, Twilight Giant books, and I only have 2 books to go untill I own all the Harpers books.

Looks like i have a lot of reading to do lol. (sorry if some of the spelling is bad on the titles)

As of today, I have read every novel (including the debated Double Diamond series) except for the following (though I own every novel to date):

Blackstaff
Master of Chains
Bladesinger
Son of Thunder
Swords of Eveningstar
Whisper of Waves (I rarely read trilogies until they are completed)
All anthologies except Realms of the Dragon I & II.

I just finished Ghostwalker. It was quite interesting to be reading the novel while hanging out with Erik Scott de Bie at Gen Con. I am currently reading Bloodwalk. I wanted to finish most of the novels above so that I could have more to discuss with their authors, but there just aren't enough hours in the day.

As do I... which is why I've set aside the Year of Rogue Dragons and Last Mythal trilogies for reading next month. Now that they've all been released and I'm just about to finish with Blackstaff and Dragons of the Dwarven Depths... I can pick up where I left off. Those two last books required me to halt my regular reading so I could spend some time enjoying Steven's tale and a return to the "War of the Lance" on Krynn.

Ditto that, though for me, those books interrupted my reading of the War of the Spider Queen series.

I just finished Maiden of Pain, a very good book! I only have a few books left unfinished now, ~rubs hands together and cackles with evil glee~

Ahm,

Novels..... this is about novels. :)

That's why we have the PM option of talking about RL weddings, etc, less they are FR weddings! :)

How were Ghostwalker, and Bladesinger? I read Master of Chains and was not impressed. I just finished reading one of the old Harper's books, and I thought it was pretty good. The seventh one, "Soldiers of Ice"

Just started Ghostwalker, if you liked Soldiers of Ice I think you will Like Ghostwalker as well. Not that they are much alike, but they both are not your "normal" realms novel.

I agree with Jorkens, Darkwalker was the first realms novel I ever read. I liked it enough to have re-read it at least twice. I do not want to spoil anything for you, but I will say that Canthus might be my favorite character in that book

It's the first one I read as well. I alternated reading one book of the Moonshae series with one book of the Dark Elf series.

Well finished City of Splendor. I liked it, although its not my favorite from either author. There's plenty of small lorebits and interesting characterisations in the book and I would recommend the book for all Realms lovers.

As I finally have managed to get hold of a copy of Dicksons old The Dragon and the George and have about a thousand books that I have not gotten around to reading I am leaving the realms for a while at least when it comes to novels.

I am obiously far behind you guys, I have just finished the FORSKEN HOUSE book. I wish there would be a good fantasy book store here since the price for shipping is insanly high.
From the 3rd edition novel books that I have read I found the Return of the ARchwizards and Wotsq to be most to my liking and I am looking foroward for completing The Last mythal it sure is promising. And I can wait that a copy of Wotsq:Ressurection will turn out in one of my favourite bookstores. Also read lately Blackstaffm Elminster daugther silverfalls and re read the moonshae trilogy.

Greetings folks!
After reading 1000 Orcs - a book I personally liked a lot - I read of course the rest of the trilogy - lone drow & 2 swords. Overall some intersting features but not all that great in the end. Liked the first drizzt books much better.

Thereafter I read Yellow Silk (The Rogues book 4). Great story great humor great ending. A wonderful book IMO one of the best FR-novels I've read so far. I can only recommand it.

I then started to work my way through Ed's books - Making of a Mage, Elminster in Myth Drannor, the Temptation of El and right now I read El in Hell. Fine books all of them cause I finally get some insights on the life and adventure of Faeruns mage mighty.

I'll keep reading, Ergdusch

I own every FR novel ever published. Three years ago I embarked on a quest to read each and every tome in order of publication date. I'm cruising right along with only a fraction of Realms books beckoning me. Awaiting my attention are:

Rogue Dragons Trilogy
Last Mythal Trilogy
House of Serpents Trilogy
Scions of Arrabar Trilogy
The Wizards Series
The Yellow Silk, The Crimson Gold
Lady of Poison, Queen of the Depths, Mistress of the Night
Bladesinger, Son of Thunder, Master of Chains
City of Splendors, Elminster's Daughter

I haven't included the Erevis Cale Trilogy because I started it last night and couldn't put the darn thing down. I'm 250 pages through and I'll probably finish the series by the I check back here.

The highest praise I can bestow upon Realms novels as a whole is that of the 150 or so books that I've read, only 4 of them have SUCKED (in my opinion). Thats a damn good ratio if you ask me (which nobody has).
