This I the list of books I read:
Starlight & Shadows Song & Sword Evermeet: Island of the Elves All 17th Drizzt Books War of The Spider Queen The Last Mythal Elminster's Saga Realms of Shadow Realms of the Elves Realms of Magic Monshae's Trilogy (and I think I'm forgetting some of them)
I'm currently reading the first book in Counselor & Kings (I have all three)

I am currently re-reading the drizzt books, damn good reading. a hard fight and an ending that(so far) leaves a lot of questions open. cant wait till the next one comes out.
I have filled my home with fantasy novels, shelves up and down :) I read alot of other books beside FR, but I have most of the puplished work. |
Sometimes I feel like Beshaba is sitting on my back, devoting her entire attention to me!

I feel like I'm playing catch-up all the time, but I've just finished 'Forsaken House' and was. Utterly. Blown. Away.
Lordy, lordy, what a book! I'm a sucker for epic battle scenes and this book provides at least three absolute beauties - what particularly impressed me was the way Baker writes the tactics of the battle scenes - taking into account the fact that some combatants are airborne etc. It's tremendously exciting stuff. The fact that he manages to write these scenes as well as successfully conveying the politics of Evermeet and a typical 'adventurers questing for magical object' story within the same novel is, again, truly impressive. I haven't been so excited by a Realms novel in a long while!    |

I own every novel (except a few of the Diamond novelettes) and there was a time I could say I ahve read every one...but now I'm probably about 30 novels behind...and I would really liek to read every one over again
on the other hand, my mom has read every one  |

I went through a period of buying every book that came out BUT that stopped a while ago, I had to start saving up to: A: Buy a House. B: Get Married.
My wife thinks I have too many books but she's one of those people who buy a book, read it & then gives it away to a charity shop!
I on the other hand have kept all mine in near mint condition 
I have: The Harpers series Most of Drizzt books a couple of the Rouge series
I need more, I have read them all to many times to count.
But to buy all the ones I want, well lets just say I'm happt with just one mortgage

Well...so far I´ve read every paperback (methinks, at least, that there aren´t any Im not aware of) except for the Netheril-Barbarian-Trilogy (which I haven´t found for a decent price yet, here in Germany). Just reading Lies of Light, but waiting for the latest Hardcovers until they´re available in paperback. |

Okay i noticed some of the novels aren't on the Wizards page, ie War in Tethyr, and the nobles series. Now that iritates me cause i have never read some of these books and well i want to read all the FR books. Has anyone read the Glass Prision, or the Symbul's gift? |

I have read both of these. And I would recommend both...but then, as you´ve said yourself, I too strive to read every FR novel possible. The Glass Prison has more of a psychological edge to it (the inner struggles of the character(s)), while The Simbul´s Gift has a)some Yuirwood niceties; b)some nice plot ideas if you´re a DM and c) well, the Simbul *g*. Do you have any specific questions on these novels? |

| Well just that i notice neither of them is as well as the entire Nobles series are on the Wizards website or listed under the novels for Wizards, i know that TSR was the company that did the books but still kinda odd. |

I'v often noticed that The Glass Prison is one of those "forgotten novels" with fans...
and The Simbuls Gift is one of my least liked Realms novels...so maybe others agree with me and demand is pretty low for it |

This is premature, as I've only read the prelude so far, but upon flipping through the book a bit, RotP appears to be waaaaaay more interesting than PotWK (which devolved into a dungeon-crawl). |

| Hey off subject i know but not knowing where else to post it i thought here the best. Has anyone read the Game of Throne books by George RR Martin? On of the best writer i have ever read btw! I would so love to have him write for the realms sometime!!! Not that the realms doesn't already have excellent writers writing for it i mean the calaber of writers writing for FR is amazing simply amazing they have Kemp, whos series i love, Cunningham a master, Salvatore always good, and Greenwood the man himself who's lore i love. Just saying that i would really like to see Mr. Martin's talents added to the Realms. |

I have read a large number of Forgotten Realms books. In fact I have been collecting them for years.I think out of all of the FR novels out there that I have probably read 80% of them. I have a bookshelf with 132 books that are all forgotten realms. I have another bookshelf for my other books, handfuls of this and that. But I have read a lot fo these books. Collecting them, with the intent of having a complete collection, has become a hobby of mine. I love reading the books for this fantasy world. And yes even after reading all of these books I am still a HUGE Drizzt Do'Urden fan.
I am always trying toget a complete list of novels together but there always seems to be new books coming out! Its a blessing and a curse trying to keep up with all of these great stories. |

Concerning my FR novel progression:
I just finished Elminster in Hell. It certainly is a book very differnet in writing style as most other novels. With his differnet fonts representing memories, dialog and normal scenes and all - however, it was not quite to my liking. I personally had to work my way through it missing the continuaty. It was more or less reading short stories with somewhat bothering text in between. The other books in the Elminster series I liked far better.
Anyhow, on with the next one - this time its an "oldie", King Pinch (book one of the Nobles series) by David Cook.
Edit note: I have a huge number of FR novels in my shelves waiting to be read. The Last Mythal series + anthology and 3 books of the Rogue series as well as the second book of the Nobles series and Red Magic! Don't know when I will be done with all those - Christmas 2007 probably?!  |

| I finished Sands of the Soul and was sadly disappointed. I am a big fan of Tazi, and I enjoyed the Crimson Gold quite a bit, so I had hopes for this one, but it did not live up to my expectations. I also finished Shadowbred and it was awesome, one of the best books I've read in a long time. I have since started reading the Promise of the Witch King and it's pretty good so far, standard RAS fare. I'm fascinated with Palischuk so I decided to read this when I discovered that the half-orc city was in it. I am also reading Lies of Light, but I am finding it a bit of a struggle. I enjoyed Whisper of Waves, but for some reason, this one is just not clicking with me. |

I did not care much for Sands of the Soul, myself.
I did like Palishchuk.
Right now, I'm reading The Ruin, and I'm more than halfway through it so far. |

| I suppose that I'm lucky to have a girlfriend not only whose as big a book freak as me, but one who is becoming increasingly interested in the D&D world. I've been out of the novel loop for a while, what books that have come out recently are worth my time? |

Everytime I read the Simbul's Gift I get more and more nuances out of it. It's grown on me considerably over the years. A bit like green slime, really.

| I'm in the middle of Bloodwalk and I like it a lot. The Blood mage is an interesting PrC, plus the Hoarite character is interesting. |
