Elrond, im familiar with the 2e rules as used in BG II and nothign else im afraid. For one thing, I dont even have the materials on hand in case I get stuck.
I will message you as requested but for now, it might be advisable for the other players to enjoy the game and I will watch and learn and join in when I wont be holding anyone back. I have never so much as even rolled a dice before. |

You're more than welcome to watch MuadDib, until you get the hang of things. In fact expect an email from me very soon detailing certian 'things' about the game

The Same applies to you as did MuadDib... I can make certian 'provision for you' and as such will email you later when I get home.

Hello
Ok I have been asked to write a few points for the Campaign so here I go...
The snow beats down on Northern Amn; all the travellers have been forced off the roads. An unnatural winter has come to Amn. The wind blows a fell chill from the Cloudpeak Mountains. A few last minute caravans trundle through the desolate conditions to keep the few homesteads around lake Weng fed. The first of these caravans meets the blissful sign that landmark its journeys end- Cloudvale. The caravan is met by the major who pays the caravaneers and showing them to warm accommodation awaits the arrival of the Second Caravan...
I hope that help a little. As I previously said there are several Stipulations, which I will repeat here again: - Characters must use the standard 4d6 generation rules- roll 4 dice, drop the lowest and total the other three together.
- Hit points for all characters at level one are full.
- All races must be elected from either the FRCS or RoF. If you wish to play a race with a level adjustment of +1 or more you must contact me (by Email) prior to creating the character.
- Character Histories should be included (For bonus XP).
- No min/maxing... If I have characters with ultra high ability scores generated I'll disallow it! I don't care if you rolled 3x 18s, I never could in character generation!
- (Why do I have a feeling I’m going to be killed for this...) But please! No more than one drow!
Also I would like a Final list of the players who will be playing in the Campaign. The players that will be starting off are: - Icewolf
- Shadowlord
- DDH_101
- Teflon
- Kezghan
- Ius
With special permission granted to - Ezindir the dark
- Signal-9
- MuadDib
Who will watch the game, learn the rules, and then decide if they wish to play.
There we go! So is everyone fine with this? Please can every one post their msn email address so I could compile them and make sure that everyone is added! Thanks!
Next point on the Agenda, which materials are open to you well... - The Player's Handbook 3.5
- The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting
- The Underdark
- The Silver Marches
- Unapproachable East
- Lords of Darkness
- Faiths and Patheleons
- Magic of Faerun
- Races of Faerun
- and (Eventually) The Players Guide to Faerun
Basically All of the official Realms products- I just typed them here to make certain you all knew what was included! Also if you wish to use any other D20 material you MUST send a copy of the relevant information along with a source to me at oldskoolrebel@hotmail.com.
Really there is very little else to say other than... Can I check that all players mentioned about can play on Sundays between 7-10 GMT and wish to! Please if you don't opt out now! And also until someone opts out I am considering this Campaign FULL! If vacancies become available at any point I will display them here!
Hanx Elrond
P.S. Please check the time!

Elrond, is it alright if my character was a Deep Imaskari? It's not a very common race but I would like to try it out. |

Second of all, a query: Are there any Realms-shaking changes for a Rogue from 3.0 to 3.5? I haven't played a "treasure acquirer" yet. |

Everyone, I've decided to quit this campaign. The reason is that I'm not too familiar with the rules and other stuff in 3.5e. I don't want to hinder or delay the game for everyone else and it would be best if I join another one because I'm going to need some time to be familiar with The Player's Handbook 3.5. |

Hey man are you sure?
Funny we are both from Vancouver, anyone in the world could be those 6 players but 2 of them are from vancity.
The 3.5 ruleset aint a whole lot different than the 3.0 one. |

Why do you feel that you need to do this DDH_101? As Kezghan has noted the 3.5 rules set is very similar to the 3E rules. In fact if you wish to see the difference, then I suggest that you log on to the WoTC website and download the Update availible their. However you can if you really wish go a Deep Imaskari but i would stress that most of the game will take place above ground afar from the Dark halls of the Underdark, and for this reason you may well wish to change you character.

There is not much of a difference, the updated Character Classes can be found on the WoTC site, along with the rest of the 3.5 changes.

I may have him finished tomorrow, not sure, doesnt take much to put a level one dude together, mechanix wise anyway.
Been awhile since i made a first level character, i think a strong gust of wind could take me out. heh

In one of the groups I am in, each player rolls three sets of scores, this is a traditional thing, to make it easier to 'roll up' a new character when their 1st level character dies... Hmmm
Good Good I'm looking foward to seeing your character Kez'ghan!

Hi all,
I wont be participating for the first part as stated, but will be adding you all to messenger so long.
my details are
ninja_mojo(at)hotmail.com < --- msn alex(at)dit.net <-- work mail alexl(at)emirates.net.ae <-- home email
Yeah, also dloaded the various links and so on.
One suggestion/request, could at least one of the people who will be playing everytime please turn on their MSN logging feature so that we can have logs of all the sessions. MSN creates xml files for it, so I will organise us some hosting space so we can post it all somewhere for people to look at if they could not attend or for them to check up if they want to clarify something. |

No problem just let me/us know I´ll stop by once in a while to check out the thread! By the way, very little has changed from 3 to 3.5 if you have a issue of 3 make the character according to that book and the modifications are easy to make later. The one really big exception from this is the ranger wich has changed quite a bit. |

Lokimau, the Elven Rogue has been born! Well, about 126 years ago, but still...
Crap, there went that dramatic introduction.
Lokimau' was born Arien Flowerwhisper. He was the young ambassador to a human kingdom when they were attacked by a cult of brainwashed wizards. Arien was taken captive because he was an elf, and the leader of the sect, Aaron Whysreth, wished to see what difference his magics would be to an elves.
Five years later, while approaching his 12th decade, the evil wizard killed himself in a freak accident which resulted in an explosion. The explosion blew the entire top four levels off of his tower. An adventuring band, known as the Rebel Eagles, saw the explosion, and decided to investigate. When they found the elf, they released him, and took him to the nearest cleric in town. His body was fully restored, but he had no desire to return to the lands of his people.
The adventurers gave him a huge share in the gold that they had found in the tower. He spent a few years living in relative comfort. Then one morning, he woke to find a group of rather ugly looking men inside his room, all with swords drawn, and large smiles on their faces as they saw him looking up. The apparent leader stepped forward, "How's this gonna go, pointy ears? Are you going to show us where you have yer coins hidden, or are we gonna have to gut ya then find 'em ourelves?"
Needless to say, Arien soon became very poor. He had to take to living on the streets. He used his natural grace to sneak in through people's windows at night and steal food and other neccesities. One day, a man in a flowing black cape approached him as he was leaving a house. Well, not so much approach as blind-side him as he stuck his head out of the window.
When he woke up, he was tied to a wall, in a darkened room. His eyes widened, and he screamed, remembering his imprisonment by Whysreth, until he was slapped. "You been working on our turf boy." The voice belonged to a man cloaked in shadows, wearing nothing but black. "You got three choices. Hand over a 100 gold for your 'work permit', join the guild, or die." Arien confessed that he did not have 10 gold, much less 100, "but neither do I wish my life to end. I will join your guild." The man in the shadows grinned, "In that case, call me Boss. Lets get you healed up, so you can take the test"
Arien was soon standing at one end of a very long corridor. Boss was standing in another room, the guild's wizard using a spell so that all could watch the elf's progress. Ariien had been informed what he needed to do. Go to the end of the corridor, and pick up the guild's symbol. He took his first step into the corridor, and heard a click. He jumped into a roll, and looked back. A dart was imbedded into a wall, at just the place he had stepped. He looked back, and saw the pressure plate that had triggered the trap. Using his elven vision, he searched for, and avoided more whilst he continued down the corridor. A few he tripped just to see what would happen. Before he reached the end of the test, he heard a sound as of sliding stone, and looked in its direction. He froze when he saw a large snake. It slithered around between him and his goal. Arien knelt and stared at the snake, waiting as it drew closer. The snake reared back to strike, and Arien shot his hand out, grabbing the serpent right below the head. The snake writhes around in his hand, but was unable to do anything. The elf stood, and strode the last few steps, and grabbed the black velvet bag that contained the guild's symbol. He opened the bag, and dumped the ebony serpent symbol onto the pedestal, and stuffed the snake's head into the bag, tying it tight. He tossed the bag-headed snake back towards its own compartment, and reached out for the symbol of the Thieve's Guild. He slipped it over his head... and found himself suddenly kneeling before the Boss "You did well, but tell me, why did you let the snake live?" Arien shrugged, I didn't feel like killing it."
The Boss laughed. "Well, nameless one, what shall we call you?" Arien looked up, "Nameless one? My name i--" "You have no name, because I have not given you one." He looked a bit thoughtful for a moment, "You, my nameless elf, shall be known as Lokimau'. I believe that is your tongue for Serpent Hands."
Lokimau' was taught the finer points of 'acquiring treasure' and was eventually promoted to full member. He was staking out a pub one night when a couple of guards passed within mere feet of him, leaving him unnoticed. He overheard part of their conversation. "Yeah, there's a Thieve's Guild operating inside the city! The Captain's leading a huge raid on it tonight. We should be free of their filth by the end of the night!"
Lokimau' scaled the nearest building, and rushed across the rooftops towards the guildhouse. before he got close, he could hear the sounds of battle. He snuck in behind the rear guards, and went to slit their throats, but then caught sight of a procession of guards. The battle was over. Four of the guards were carrying the limp body of the Boss, while another was carrying the head.
The elf waited until the cost was clear, and snuck back into the guildhouse. Only a handful were left, most of whom were out on assignments like himself. They all agreed that it would not be wise to re-establish the guild, and went their seperate ways. Lokimau' gathered his belongings, and left town.
During his travels, he eventually made his way to Amn, thinking to join with a local guild and settle again.
And so, his latest adventure begins. |

Well, I sent mine to him while talking to him on messenger. I just posted it here, quite frankly, to show off.
I spent half the night trying to fill out Elrond's Gods-forsaken PDF character sheets, (Though that was probably my own system's limitations) and the other half writing up my bio. I wanted somebody to see it besides Elrond. |

Elrond, you haven't gotten back to me as to whether I could play a drow or not....
However, in either case I have already compiled a character. |

By virtue of claw and fang, the lion will always triumph over the goat.Given time, the pounding of the sea will wear away the stone. And when dark elves mingle with the lighter races, the offspring invariably take after the dark parent. It is all much the same. That which is greater shall prevail. Here is the background story to my human barbarian, Lars Bloodsong;
Lars Bloodsong is an orphaned barabarian of icewinddale that lost his family to starvation at the age of fourteen. Since then he has fought his way forward into the world and so far has managed to overcome all obstacles put before him. Tough living conditions have left Lars body wellgrown and powerful and with his almost golden hair and beard, he is an impressive sight. His hard life has carved its mark in Lars`s face wich, like the rest of his muscled body, is covered in scars. Lars has a rough looking exterior and it mirrors his inside as well, years of only having to rely upon himself and often in conflict with a harsh reality has made Lars a gruff, hard and and introvert man. He has a bit of a mean streak to him, and this combined with the rest of his persona and looks make people avoid and fear Lars. However this outlook is a little deciving because Lars has a number of redeeming qualities as well; he is very lojal to his few friends and he always keeps his word once he gives it. Lars also has a deep inner conviction about what is right and wrong and he loaths cowards and people who are sadistic or cruel. Lars can of course be a very determined and ruthless fighter himself, but he thinks little of those who take pleasure in inflicting pain on others. The laws of the civilized world means little to Lars, he follows them if he has to just to avoid trouble, but in a conflict with his own beliefs he will always disregard laws as irrelevant. Lars pay homage to Tempus, as is customary for his tribe. He is no true believer however, he put his faith in his strong arm and quick reflexes instead. In battle however the song of Tempos is often on his lips. Lars have supported himself first as a petty thief, when young, but then he took up the mercenary proffession as soon as he could afford a weapon. He has worked the Swordcoast as a caravan guard with mixed succes. In battle Lars favours his battleaxe, he is not above using any other weapons though, and never grovs to fond of his weapons(so far) but uses what he can get his hands on. Lars rarly wears anything more cumbersome than a breastplate in combat. Lars is currently unemployed and in the market for whatever work that will show up.

Lokimau(elf rogue), Arasar Thaim(elf fighter), Lars Bloodsong(human barbarian), some mysterious drow person to be unveiled, and i have Suth Danthlass(human cleric) Windseeker of Shaundakul coming. Sounds like an interesting start. The dymanic between 2 elves and a drow will be fun to observe and contain. heh
