History: Zalanthul Aleval was born as the Elderboy of House Aleval, 10th House of the drow city of Menzoberranzan. One day, when Zalanthul was about 10, average age for a page prince, he saw a magical glyph drawn on the door of his father’s room. His father was the House Wizard, and since Zalanthul always had a high intelligence, it was quite easy for him to retrace the glyph on the underside of a plate he took from the House Kitchens. Little did Zalanthul know, the mystic symbol he drew was actually a glyph of warding containing a fireball spell, and that was the very same plate that would be delivered to the Matron Mother for her evenfeast. Before the glyph could be activated, the Matron detected the magic, raised a divine shield, and asked her maidservant to test the food for her. The unfortunate servant exploded in a rush of gore, and the Matron, thinking it to be an assassination attempt, was furious. She quickly summoned her House Wizard, Chaszmyr Aleval, who was Zalanthul’s father. She asked him to trace the spell back to it’s caster, and, much to Chaszmyr’s surprise, it was his own son. Instead of telling that to the Matron Mother, he said it was a rival house that was protected by divination spells. Chaszmyr secretly began to train Zalanthul for his acceptance into Sorcere, drow school of magic, and after 35 years of intense preparation, Zalanthul is a student of Sorcere… |

History of Arasar Thaim:
Arasar Thaim past is unlike most adventurers. He was not an orphan, did not involve himself in any thieves guild or lived poorly. None of his family were powerful wizards or legendary warriors. In fact, Thaim is from a middle-class merchant family in Tethyr that specializes in ropes. When Thaim was young, he helped out at his father's store and took care of his younger siblings until the age of 20, when he met the woman he loved dearly, Rainar.
Rainar is a beautiful human cleric of Helm who was raised rather religiously. Arasar fantasised about her and wanted to marry Rainar, but when he proposed to her, she rejected him, saying he was a boring elf who cannot even wield a sword. Rainar then left for Athakatla with another group of adventurers; rumours saying about how she has a crush on the leader of the group, Aeron (an arrogant and evil secret follower of Talos). Heartbroken, Arasar fell into despair and drank heavily, ignoring his family and friends.
One night, after leaving another tavern drunk, Arasar Thaim wandered around the city of Darromar. He was heading home when a thug dragged him into an alley and tried to kill him. The thug wanted to take revenge on Arasar after he made fun of the man's bald head at a tavern ten nights ago. The drunken elf tried to fight back but he had no combat training and it was hopless for him to fight the dagger-wielding thug. Luckily, someone walked by and witnessed the attack. The man approached and with one swing of his broad sword, decapitated the thug. Amazed and humbled, Arasar followed the man back to his house to fix his wounds. The elf found out that the man was Tomlorn Pracam, a famous Amish mercenary captain of the Order of the Silver Lance. Arasar asked the man to train him to become a fighter so he could win back Rainar's heart and keep her away from Aeron. Tomlorn, sympathetic with the young elf, decides to let him join the mercenary company and teach him sword play. The two of them, along with the Order of the Silver Lance, leaves Damorran and heads for Amn... |

Is this still going on? I've never played the PNP version before but I do have lots of reference books and a good idea of how things might go. Not sure how this will work over MSN but I'm willing to give it a try. My MSN is GraphicDLee@MSN.com hope to hear from you :) |

Now I have collected almost everyones Character Sheets and History.
I regret to announce that Kezghan has left the group as his other (real life) commitements have grown too much for him to play.
So now we have 6 players in the group which I feel is ample sized enough. Sorry Wood Elf, however if there are any developments I will be sure to left you know.
I also would like to appologize for all the carry on with the character sheets, I found that they worked for me, and a few other players found this also.
All things being equal I hope to Start this upcoming Sunday, could everyone please let me know how this would be for them

Right then. I await the day we begin. I also wonder how the party is going to find me, as I’m a student of Sorcere in Menzoberranzan. Mayhaps my character should start as an NPC, then become a PC, as the plot progresses? Just a thought… |

Or perhaps a fellow student can have an 'accident' and you find yourself mysteriously on the surface? Magic is often unpredictable, no? |

I would prefer 8:30 GMT. 7:30 GMT raises some timezone conflict. Is that alright?
Indeed, Elrond. I await your email. |

If he DID mean 7:30 AM, then it would mean 2 in the morning for me... |

Unfortuntely 7.30 AM GMT raises ALOT of problems for me, chances are I'll be out on Saturday night, In fact this saturday I'm going to a friends, chances are I wont be back home until between 1-3 pm. Even then I'll need to get a couple hours sleep, to clean the Alcohol from my system. The choices are yours... We could schedule another time, or I could hand over the material I have to another DM who could run it for you. Sorry Elrond |

Hi, I'm new here, I spoke to Elrond about joining this adventure and he accepted me. My character is a Half-Orc monk raised by humans and in shame of his Orcish side.
I can play at 7:30 PM GMT on Sunday, I guess it's a reasonable time for all the people involved... for me it would be like 2 o'clock in the afternoon, perfect for playing. So please let's agree and start the adventure! |
