I wasn't impressed with the level of detail... Lego has gotten a lot better than they used to be with detail, and some of the figures have simply amazing levels of detail. I actually have 40+ Lego minifigs on my desk at work (most in display cases), and the level of detail on a lot of them blows away what we can see in that video.
Among the minifigs I have at work are a dwarf, a minotaur, Captain Jack Sparrow, an unnamed pirate (with eyepatch, hook hand, and pegleg), an evil knight, and Gandalf. There are a lot more, but those are the most fantasy-related ones -- trying to stay somewhat on topic. |

I never replaced my Lego Darth Vader, but I've got a Lego Batman at work, as well. He shares a case with Gandalf, Indiana Jones, Wolverine, Captain Jack Sparrow, and Iron Man... Man, imagine that as your adventuring company!
The only non-Lego brick figures I have are Daleks.
I've been trying to find a KRE-O BAT from the GI Joe line, but I haven't had much luck finding one for cheaper than the action figure. |

My Lego Vader has been known to duel my other Lego people from time to time. He (accidentally?) came with a BLACK lightsaber, which makes him too overwhelmingly awesome to just sit around a shelf trying to intimidate a few sci-fi novels. |

A black? Lightsaber?! Does it light up like the red one? |

they're actually trying to push D&D as a lego type knockoff??? I know you want to get them young, but you also don't want the old ones going "that's for babies". But, what do I know, I'm not a business major. |

KREO has been doing a lot of block versions of action figure lines... There are KREO Transformers and KREO GI Joes, that I know of. But they don't have near the market share of the brick market that Lego does. I myself would have preferred D&D Legos... But I've already got a Lego elf, and a Lego dwarf, and a Lego wizard, without getting into the Lord of the Rings Lego figures (yes, I have a Lego wizard that is not Gandalf, as well as Gandalf). |

KRE-O is distributed by Hasbro (which, y'know, owns Transformers, GI Joe, and D&D) and was made to be compatible with LEGO products (although I still prefer LEGO over the KRE-O mini-figs). |
I actually DO know everything. I just have a very poor index of my knowledge.

Ill tell you the truth, I love LEGO but I actually like the KRE-O mini figs better, even the MEGA Bloks mini figs are nicer than the LEGO ones in my opinion. Well the way that I see it is that LEGO can't own all the licenses so I feel like Mega Bloks and KRE-O having some of them means they will actually get made rather than not. I am excited to introduce them to the kids though, a great way to get them into D&D... |
