Hello again, about to be running a FR game for a group of level ones. They haven't played in the realms before. I need some adventure hooks and perhaps a starting town/city. Thanks

I've always been fond of Daggerford myself. Lot's of decently fleshed out NPCs (including mentors for PCs), a standing militia they can be part of and plot hooks available too. Of course, that's as of 1350-70s, not the 4e timeframe.

I have a dream that one day, all game worlds will exist as one.

@Pluddon: What edition is this for? What issues of Dungeon and/or adventures do you own? What characters do your players want to play?

It's exactly the same in the 4E timeframe.

Combine Ghosts of Dragonspear Castle and Scourge of the Sword Coast and you have a rather nice sandbox campaign, even if it is set in the "wrong" era for some people.

My favourite starter adventure is Raiders of Galath's Roost from Dungeon 87. The Dalelands, drow, Zhents, orcs, and a portal. The only thing missing is a beholder otherwise it's the quintissential FR starter adventure (not that beholders should be in starter adventures... most of the time).

Cheers

I will be running 1st ed actually. It will be a mostly good party. I should be able to get a hold of most dungeon magazines.

Cool.

Raiders that I mentioned is really for 3rd Edition but it would convert easily enough.

Personally, though, if I was running AD&D I would use that as an excuse to run the original adventure path, the Mere of Dead Men series from Dungeon 69-73. Of course, you would need to find adventures to fill those levels before the PCs would be ready for Mere but I find running a sandbox in Waterdeep - especially if you have access to the City System boxed set and, say, the first Ruins of Undermountain - fairly easy and satisfying for all involved.

Cheers

PCs escorting a merchant caravan from Daggerford to Waterdeep must deal with threats from the lizard marsh and ardeep forest as intoxicated bandits and giant crocodile-riding lizardmen attack anything moving on the trade way while bands of bullywugs worshipping a strange god are doing bizzare things along the marsh's border...
