Does anyone remember what happened to my favorite idiot?

Killed by Mask in order to trap Kezef the Chaoshound. Mask framed Mystra for it though.

I think it was like that.

A wise man from Calimport once told me: "If a merchant puts sand in the flask of oil he's trying to sell you, then he isn't trying to sell you sand..."

Yeah, I assume he's still in Mask's domain, unless Kezef managed to eat him while Mask was on the run.

My theory is that he is one of the faithless in, at the time, Cyric's realm of the dead. Chess worshiped the goddess Leira, who was goddess of illusions and deception, in order to hide his massive fat frame which he was so ashamed off. Sadly Leira was killed by Cyric right after the Time of Troubles so Chess was unable to hide his girth anymore. Since the goddess he worshiped didn't exist anymore at the time of his death I would well imagine that he became one of the Faithless and ended up in the dreaded wall of the Faithless in the city of the dead.

Have you read "So High a Price" in Realms of Infamy? Chess is in that story, set in 1334 DR.

Nope, but I remember what he looked like after Leira died. And that's a big fat ugly bastard

He's dead, what can he do ? It's not like people or creatures who are already dead can come back to haunt ya now can they ?

SPOILER!!!

Mask took Chess's soul in, if only to hide his deed from Cyric. Later, though, to further the deception that the scribe who created the True Life of Cyric was dead, he sent Chess's soul (in the guise of a woman) in her place.
