How much time has elapsed after the death of Mask in 1374 before the common people have heard about his disappearance? Is his surrender to Shar commonly known or a secret?

I think the nature of his "death" is mostly unknown, save by some like Cale and Riven. I could be wrong, though.

According to the last Godborn excerpt, there are good chances that he'll be back.

well either he is successful in his death gambit and is reborn with Vasen Cale's help or he fails and Shar's cycle of night is completed and the entirety of faerun is consumed........im going to guess that when its over, faerun is still here

His death was known more or less immediately (though some time would need to pass for the information to pass on to the general populace) and I don't believe his surrender to Shar ever became common knowledge.

I have a dream that one day, all game worlds will exist as one.

As he had been withdrawing his power from all of his worshipers for a while before his(apparent) demise, I think that people would have suspected something was wrong almost immediately. Besides I am sure the Shar worshipers would have bragged about it.

Mask never died. He just took a short vacation. (A century is relatively short for the gods.)

Every beginning has an end.
