Hullo, I'm a game master but without a group! To satisfy my craving for enjoying the imaginary life of the Forgotten Realms I setting up a forum called "Moonhunt Down" in which I'd like to run 1d8 people through a play-by-post game. I prefer play-by-post to more advanced online role-playing because I like to write.

Now, I am still working on the design elements and technical side of things but I am almost ready to start, and now I am wondering if anyone would be interested in participating.

The forum has dice-rolling capabilities which allows us to play the game with the element of chance. I will be running a campaign using the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Second Edition core books, but will be using this and that from other source books and magazines (as well as utilizing the full range of Realms material released for the game).

I have read very few novels and so I may end up contradicting stuff, but I will adhere to the setting as it is presented in second edition material. I've set up threads and forums for gaming, characters, questions, etc. so it's almost good to go.

I don't care if you are a realmslore expert or a novice gamer.
Interested? Send me a PM!

Have a look at what I've got so far - maybe you have ideas/suggestions as well.

Mod edit: Found this in the ethers; relocated to a more visible locale

Hmm. I just took a look, and it doesn't seem like there's anything there. There's one empty forum thread and that's it. Do you think the other things got hidden somehow?

Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be...
Sigh... And now 4e as well.

Hi Hoondatha, I just noticed that you have registered, thank you. I am still building the site, and some of the forums are hidden still, I am gauging interest so that when I'm ready we can get rolling at once. I am almost done, though. Just a few things I need to learn/understand about the forum (technicalities). Thanks for your interest :)

In addition, the boards I chose to use are somewhat tricky to get used to. I run another forum online as well (www.iswintercoming.com) but this one is confusing me a little (yet). Working on getting you to see what's up so far.
edit: could you please check if you have access now?

Ah, okay. I thought I needed to register to see things, but couldn't see any more after registering than before.

I might be interested; I do love 2e. I'd need more info about the game before I commit, though.

I might be interested as well.

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

You should be able to see six sections: The Yawning Portal Inn, Moonhunt Down, Faerūn: The Forgotten Realms, The Circle of Velharr, Heroes of the Realms, and Dailyscrips.

Within these sections (not all) there are some threads I've started. Are you guys able to read and / or reply?

What more info would you like to know, Hoondatha?
(There's probably a lot that you're thinking of that I'm not thinking of
(I'm also fine with you trying it out and dropping it if you feel like it later). Thanks for the interest.

I've been fiddling with the administration panels, I think you should be able to both read and post now. If you don't mind, please come over and give it a try so I know it works. If it does, we can get going and add more adventurers as they come along. By get going I mean discuss what kind of characters you'd like to play (if you decide to join, of course) :)

Yes I can read your posts. A post on the format used to roll dice would be helpful. I did not see it if it was already there. I will post sometime tonight.

I worked out the dice thingy, you can find the explanation in the "How to Play" thread :-) Thanks!

(I am going offline now, but will be anxious to see if you were able to post when I get back online :))

Thanks for registering Ozreth. Thanks for posting, Lothlos. Now I know that the board is up and running, which means we can start the campaign and add more players if/when they show up. If I can find the time I will try to add more info.

All right, we have enough people to get properly started. I need to finish a few things on the site, and I need some of you to visit the [OOC] Character Creation thread so we can discuss :)

Just bumping this for visibility. The forum's wonkiness has been ironed out, and we're starting to put the game together. We could use a few more players, though.

Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be...
Sigh... And now 4e as well.

Ozreth, Lothlos, are you still in on the game? I know it's been slow going with the characters. I've been busy with the start of a new school year (I'm a teacher). If you have decided not to join that is okay of course but I need to know :)

Just a quick bump of the scroll for any scribes who didn't notice it. The game is just now getting under way and we've got space for some additional players, so if anyone wants to join in, send the DM a message or stop by the forum and say hello.

Pretty much whatever you want it to be about. The DM's going for a sandbox, "explore what you want to explore" feel. We're starting off in Marsember in the 1360's, but we don't have to stay there. For instance, my PC is a dwarf psionicist who wants to retake Tethyamar, and is currently working harbor salvage (and smuggling) in Marsember.
